This skyline set is fantastic when displayed with a light gray background on a black shelf, as mine is. I like how most buildings here can be displayed from more than one angle, although the Flatiron Building is a little bit bland from the backside. Still, you have to understand that at that small of a scale, that was probably the most appropriate thing for the designers to do, so I respect them for making that decision. That goes for the Statue of Liberty as well, as I read some of the other reviews here, and that also was probably the best choice for the designers to do was using that small sand-green microfigure. Sure, it doesn't have a torch, but if the figure were manufactured as its own design specific to this model,it would be a lot more expensive to produce, and thus the cost of this set could've been quite a bit more, something that could've deterred a lot of this set's potential customers. The whole thing, though complicated in some areas (Empire State and One WTC), is fairly sturdy, and captures the most iconic New York sights well. It is (imo) the best of the Skyline series, in the aspects of color composition, displayability, sturdiness, and usage of space. It isn't overly lacking but also doesn't cram too many structures in a limited amount of space. Thanks LEGO!

One of the best LEGO Architecture sets. An incredible amount of detail for a set of this size. Very interesting building techniques used. I love how they are all to scale!Statue of Liberty: Small and simple, but easily recognisable.Empire State Building: Much better than older model of it. Better detail with grills, and with the antenna. Very ascetically pleasing, and I bit larger than the previous model.Chrysler Building: Beautiful model. The "crown" is done well, for such a small scale. The structure itself is simplistic but looks fine.Flatiron Building: Again, simple model. Looks nice from front angles, but the side angles aren't as great. Then again, for something so small, the detail is shown. One World Trade Center: My favourite out of them all. Clever use of SNOT, and it is very nice looking. I would enjoy it more if the grey tiles were replaced with another shade of blue, or transparent ones, but other than that, it's fine. Looks stunning next to the others.Rating: 8/10

My wife & I decided to order this on our wedding anniversary. We got engaged & married in New York on two separate visits so New York is a special place to us. After seeing this it felt like the perfect way to celebrate and pay homage to our favourite city. We both found it an entertaining build and I personal think Lego did a great job with the subtle features & details on the buildings to make them look strikingly like the real thing. People who are saying the Statue of Liberty is too small in scale leaves me a bit confused... next to the Empire State Building I think it looks fine. Although some might find it lack of detailing (it is only a standard micro Lego figure in green)I personally think it looks fine and adds to the charm of the set. I also purchased a light kit off another website that just gives the building that extra touch of style. I’d recommend this set to any Lego/architecture enthusiast or simply just someone who loves New York like me.

First of all, I think this is an excellent set. I had read many reviews saying it was poor value for money and was a disappointing scale, so I wasn't expecting great things when I ordered it, but I was completely amazed when it arrived. The box and presentation were incredibly slick and clean. The instruction manual had great photos and facts in it and was a joy to read. The building process was very fun and overall the finished product looks outstanding, especially lit in the dark. The Empire State Building, The Flatiron Building and the One World Trade Centre are my personal highlights.Unfortunately the Chrysler Building was disappointing. It lacked the brilliant level of detail the others had on such a small scale and didn't really look like the real building.Apart from that this was an excellent and fun product to display and build.I will certainly be looking in to purchasing the other skylines in the series.

In The Past My experience With Lego Architecture Has Been Very Good,Big Ben,The Leaning Tower Of Pisa,The Eifel Tower,The Louvre And The Arc De Thriomfe(Or However You Spell It)Are All Very Models And This Is No Exeption,The Build Was Fun And I Found It Very Interesting How The One World Trade Center Goes Together,The Statue Of Liberty Does Look A Little Weird But You Can Still Tell What It Is,The Empire State Building Is Also Very Recognisible Although The Builds A little Finnicky,The Chrysler Building Is Very Interesting-Looking And I Really Like It,The Flatiron Looks A Little Weird But Is Still Cool And One World Trade Center Is Awesome,The Build Altogether Is Good,The Set Makes A GoodDisplay Model And The Only Place This Set Fails For Me Is The Playibility But That's To Be Expected From Lego Architecture,So All-In-All I Would Highly Recommend This To Anyone Who Likes New York,Lego Architecture Or Nice Display Pieces.

Overall I was very impressed with this set. Having missed out on the original Empire State Building, but loving my Flatiron Building, I felt I needed to pick this one up. I was impressed with the size and scale of the buildings and the color palate used. The Sand Green mini-statue is a fantastic addition. The SNOT techniques used to create the 3x3 base for One World Trade Center model were quite impressive and I will have to remember them. The instruction manual is where I was most disappointed. There were two errors in my printing that detracted from an otherwise well done product. One of the descriptions of the Empire State building was missing the English translation and another step duringthe construction of One World Trade Center called for too many pieces to be used (the part callout did not match the picture for the step).Otherwise a very neat model and a great addition to my collection.

Although I've never been to New York itself, the city has always fascinated me from a very young age (through films and even through Lego itself). This model in the Architecture series is delightful, both in the building experience and in the final product for display. I built it leisurely, spending about an hour or less for each building, building one each day until complete. The Empire State Building is a very clever and realistic detailed component, and the Chrysler Building is also very good (its clear plastic bricks catch the light and make the building look lit up in the daytime). The relative heights of the buildings make for a convincing skyline model, and the final set is a good advert for making me want to visit the city for real. The other sets currently available look good, and I wish to congratulate Lego for making these skyline models so attractive and reasonably priced.

I live in Brooklyn but am in Manhattan almost everyday. My favorite well-known buildings are the Chrysler Building and Rockefeller Center, with the Empire State Building (ESB) and Flatiron Building as close seconds. I can see the Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center and the ESB as I travel to and from Manhattan (it's amazing and I don't take it for granted). So, this set was a "no-brainer" for me to own. The pieces are unique and the set is really fun to build. The skyscrapers are a little unsturdy (several disassembled when the set tilted back into a box) but the pieces came off in chunks and were easy enough to put back together without needing to look at the instructions, and that's why I gave this a 4 block rating. I would recommend for older kids to adult due to small pieces. The end result is beautiful and fun to admire.

Honestly, this is a great little set, but the issue I had with it was that instead of numbered bags to go building by building, this set is packaged in several bags of totally mixed up parts. On sets that are this small in size, it's a lot of very small pieces (1x1's, 2x1's, etc) and the build could've been way more enjoyable had they just been packaged 1 or 2 bags per building. That said, don't hesitate to pick up this set for yourself or as a gift... I received mine as a gift and I must admit it's a great addition to the Architecture lineup! While a few reviewers don't like the Statue of Liberty mini figure, personally, I think it's a quirky/fun touch by Lego. Speaking of the Statue of Liberty, that might have to be my next set. :) I would add videos, but once again, the website turns my pics sideways. :|

This was the first set I purchased after being away from LEGO for about 7 years and I had fun building it. I personally felt that it was just the right size; not to big and not too small but perfect for display on my shelf. The buildings themselves came out looking better than expected which made the finished build that little bit more satisfying to look at upon completion. It wasn't overly complicated to build which meant that I wasn't left confused with some of the instructions which is what I was looking for after being out of it for a few years. I also enjoyed the book that was included in the set which provided details and history of the buildings included alongside the building instructions.Overall I would recommend this to a friend, even if they had never touched a LEGO set in their life.

First of all, this was my first purchase of the Architecture series from Lego. Therefore, I am not sure how other sets are built. Overall, this set is a very nice miniature of New York city skyline (although you cannot really see all these five structures from either rivers). Due to the size of the buildings, they are not very detailed as you would expect in their stand-alone versions like the Empire State Building, or the Flatiron. Also, due to the techniques used in the set, some parts of the buildings feel quite flimsy and easy to be detached. Lastly, I love how they represented the One World Trade Center, as the unique appearance of the building must have been hard to simulate. All in all,the set is very satisfactory, although more details could have been put in.

I've been trying to get all of the architecture sets of cities that I've actually been to, and I was excited to see there was one for NYC. I had fun putting together this set and it was relatively easy once you can actually see the manual (this wasn't as difficult as some other sets since there aren't as many black pieces as other architecture sets). My only wish was that there would be a "mini" building detail as some of the other sets, such as Shibuya Crossing of Tokyo or Freemont street of Las Vegas. A tiny Times Square would have made this set absolutely perfect and fun and not as strictly structural as just the buildings and a tiny Statue of Liberty make it.

This was the third Architecture piece in my collection and was a fun build. The others we have in our collection are the Empire State Building and The Flat Iron Building which are both in this collection as well and I like this version of the Empire State Building much more it is my second favorite building on the skyline second only to the Chrysler Building (hoping to get a standalone version of that one at a larger scale with more detail). The build was fun and easy my three-year-old helped and we had a lot of fun building this one as with all the others we have built. We look forward to adding to our collection soon

I am from the tri-state area, so I am a bit biased, but I do really enjoy how this set looks. The Empire State Building and WTC are the best. Chrysler Tower was a little bland, but it's the only rendition of this building in the Architecture line. One gripe I think is there could have been a smidge more detail, like little taxi cabs or something. I'm nitpicking at this point because it really is a great set, but I just feel the buildings are lined up next to each other and that's it. NYC is very linear, but it feels like of empty. Overall, great set and I'm definitely glad it's part of my collection.

I have only discovered that Lego built sets that adults can proudly display. This was the second Lego set I purchased and it was a pretty simple build. The quality of this set was great and the instructions were very clear. I currently have this set displayed in my office cube as it is the perfect size. I only wish there were more pieces in this set to make it more challenging/fulfilling.I do think it's amazing how people come up with these designs. I've had no problems following the instructions to build the set, but I don't think I could have ever built one on my own.
