The KONG looked to be a solid, well made product that could withstand much abuse from my delightful chewy chums. It came with some simple packaging that even the most sophisticated chewy chums could have appreciated, and it arrived safely and was delivered to the paws of the licking panting shedding machines. The waggy tailed chewy chums loved the smell and taste of the stinky rubber. Each to their own. I tried to tell them that if my keyboard smelled like that I definitely wouldn't lick it, but they were not put off by my reservations. The toys sent the pack of wild beasts into a frenzy of bouncing, wagging, panting and general euphoria. The menagerie was sent into a further frenzy when they saw the jar of peanut better being pulled carefully from the cupboard. Me being a mere human slave, I couldn't get anything past them! They were then sent to another level of euphoria, a rubbery peanuty one. As I slathered peanut butter into the holes at the end of the stinky rubber toy they ascended onto another plane of existence, becoming one with the universe and at peace with all the wrongs in the world. They were drooling and watching me with big puppy dog eyes as I slathered very thick and hard to slather peanut butter all over the inside of the stinky rubber toy. When the wild beasts disguised as my pets received the peanut butter filled stinky rubber toys, they each took them to a comfy spot, and proceeded to lick ferociously at the peanut butter, unaware that it was pretty much the same sort of consistency as wallpaper paste, and that it would take hours to get it all off. The hairy ones licked away for hours, unaware of the goings on of the world, too busy to look up from their peanut-gasm.Eventually, the cuddly hairy ones decided to leave the stinky rubber toys and came back to the modern world, and continued to live their lives, with a peanut shaped void clearly visible in their eyes. It saddened me, but I didn't want to face the repercussions of them overeating peanut butter and the river of peanut mud that would follow later on. Upon inspection of the toys by the human slave, she was correct in thinking they had finished. The only remaining peanut butter was far out of reach of the beasts tongues and starting to dry. A quick wash out with some water and they were as clean and stinky as new.The love - peanut relationship went on forever. The lick machines continued to lick peanut butter from the kongs, but they also found a new love for them even when the peanut was gone. They would take the black toys and sit with them, aimlessly chewing them for hours, making a beautiful symphony of squeaking rubber noises. Mozart couldn't compare. Even after several months, and then eventually years, the toys still stood up to the test of large sharp beast teeth and regular abuse. The toys stayed intact with only a peppering of tooth marks all over, like tooth holed freckles. They were firmly in love with these toys, and they lived happily ever after together

My dog, bless him, is a chewer. He's destroyed loads of toys in the past, because he seems to like taking them apart. We were getting quite tired of buying him nice toys and then seeing them in pieces on the rug about ten minutes after giving them to him. And then we found this Kong bone. They're amazing. He's a cross between a Staffie and a Lab, so he's got the strong jaws and the appetite to match his genes! But he took ages - months - to even break one bit off one of these.Interestingly, we've never used them for their intended purpose - to put treats in the ends. He's happy enough lying on the floor squelching the ends together in his mouth (and filling them with slobber and licking it back out again,to ensure we're sufficiently grossed out). It's great to see him perfectly happy, creating little creaking squeaky sounds as he squeezes it together. It seems like it's quite therapeutic to him. I'm not sure if he just doesn't want to break it because he likes the squeezing sensation or if he physically can't break it (which would surprise me given his track record of previous toys, sticks etc), but either way, one of these will last him a good six months, during which he'll lie and chew it for a good few hours a day. When he finally did break an end off from his current one, he was still perfectly happy just to focus on the other end instead. To give a better idea, he was given this just before Christmas and it's still got one squeezy end left!I can't speak for other dogs, perhaps I'm naive to how destructive others can be, but I know what mine is capable of, and taking that into consideration, this product is brilliant!

For Puppies and young dogs who like to chew this is a well made product. Our puppy does use it on her own to play with but we also use it to throw and for her to retrieve and bring back to us in the mornings before she goes for her mini-walk. It is very bouncy and when used on the tiled floor our puppy loves it as it springs back up into the air. She is not a puppy who is left for hours on end and therefore I have surveyed her when she is on her own. This is a good chew but would not keep a growing energetic puppy amused for long if she did not have other chews in her play area (our kitchen). I would not recommend any puppy to be left for long periods of time with just a few Kong products. This should be bought in combination with other 'chews', reconsituted bones and dried pigs ears. A combination of Kong and other products certainly keeps her from eating chair and table legs. I still have not found the 'goodies/treats' made by Kong to put into the ends of the Goodie Bone - please can someone advise me where to buy them? I did buy the can of Kong cream to put into her other Kong Goodie cone shaped toy (bouncy too - which makes it more fun to play with ). Variety in chews is important and Kong products are very well made and will not flake or crumble and get caught in her throat or her tummy - so yes I would advise this as a good product to buy. It would keep her quieter if she had a goodie stuck into the slots either end of the bone. I bought the black medium size and it will last for ages. Thank you Amazon for your quick delivery.

I love this chew bone. I may even love it more than my dog. You can literally fill it with anything you are willing cram into it and then just sit back and watch your pooch get all excited and frustrated as they try to get the goodies out.I have had this since my collie x german shepherd was around 3 months old so over a year now and its in perfect condition.I fill it with lots of different stuff depending on what i have at the time. I've seen me putting peanut butter, Primula cheese, carrots, mashed potato, biscrok biscuits, tuna, you name it its probably been in there. As he has gotten older though i must admit he seems to have it sussed as before he would take maybe 40 minutes to empty itbut now its more like 10.I highly recommend this KONG bone and any other KONG toy for that matter as i have a few of them now and none have fallen apart.I would also recommend the chuckit ultra balls to anyone with a dog with a ball fixation, you can find my review of that on my profile. If you know of any other good dog toys, chews or accessories please let me know in the comments section of this review as i am always on the look out for stuff for my boy.

Kong. The name of choice for sanity-preserving puppy owners. If you have a dog, and especially a puppy, the mere thought of a Kong product provides instant relief. I’ve got several Kong products and they’ve not let me down yet.The Kong Treat Bone is made of their hardest rubber so has the greatest chance of standing up to the most playful of pup. There is hole through the centre at either end of the bone into which you can stuff a treat or two. As with all Kong treat toys it’s advisable to use some kind of paste or soft food to help wedge the treat into the toy. I recommend soft cheese (cheap supermarket stuff is fine), peanut butter (essential to make sure it doesn’t contain Xylitol as it’s poisonous to dogs….Sun Pat and Skippy don’t use that so should be safe)or Kong’s own spray-on paste.Once you’ve given the dog their bone they’ll spend many enjoyable minutes fishing out their food from inside. The bone doesn’t hold as much food as some of Kong’s other toys, but hey it’s a bone. The pooch will love it!

We walk a friend's ten month old German Shorthaired Pointer and would like to have a break for a coffee or meal after fifty minutes then walk him for another fifty or so - he's off the lead during these walks and is racing to fetch the ball so gets lots of exercise. Unfortunately he hates these brief breaks and will tear up the yard of an outside cafe or tear up boxes of tissues and cushions if he is in the house. I bought him this Kong and we stuffed it with dog treats. He was totally absorbed for fifteen minutes then started going crazy and we found that he'd eaten the treats so we put in another one. (The packet said that a dog his size could have two a day.)I'm going to buy some peanut butter and put it in the Kong and freeze it as apparently this slows down how quickly the animal can extract the food. I bought a stag antler for another dog that we walk but he absolutely hated it so I had some trepidation about the Kong. Fortunately it has been a great success!

I comes wrapped in strong card with a very thick plastic tie attaching everything together. It took a pair of sharp scissors and a bit of perseverance to get the bone free.Once it was free I was pleased how well small milk biscuit bones and dental chews fit inside the holes at each end. The tight fit made it really hard for my dog to get to her goodies. She soon learnt to bash it on the floor and spent ages sniffing out every scrap. It kept her occupied for almost an hour - the biscuit bones don't last as long but are still quite a challenge.I'm also pleased that she enjoys playing with it even when there are no treats inside. It is slightly wobbly if you hold it at one end and she spends quite a lot of time tossing it in the air, pouncing on it and shaking it to make sure it's dead. This is a very tough bone, my pup has some fearsome jaws on her but she is not getting through this yet. I'm hopeful this will be as long lasting as her other Kong toys.

Given as a toy to a 4 year old pure-bred alsatian who kept chewing up bits of wood in the house which resulted in a lot of hoovering! I bought this based on other reviews which said it was made originally for military alsatians. The toy is JUST big enough for him but I would classify him a "large" dog. The bone is solid rubber, about 10 inches long with thick ends; each end has a serrated hole drilled through it - you can stuff whatever you want in here. I found dog biscuits in Tescos that are a perfect fit,a dn our dog loves peanut butter in them too!The bone smelt funny straight out of the packaging and washing it wouldn't get rid of the smell. After a month of owning in, and plenty of dog slobber over it,the smell has vanished. The dog loves it.Conclusion - living up to it's "indestructible" pedigree after 3 months of use and worth it for <£10!

My dogs love the Kong Extreme Goodie Bone, but it didn't take Dave the Destroyer long to rip his bone in to tiny pieces. This doesn't mean that this is a bad product as my other dog Alfie, took his time and it lasted him for a long while until the destroyer chewed it into a million pieces like he did his own.I have yet to find a toy that Dave cannot completely ruin within 10 minutes and im sure if he hadn't of got hold of Alfie's Kong Extreme Goodie Bone, it would have lasted alfie a very long time. The one thing i love about the Kong Extreme Goodie Bone is the fact that you can put the chews through each end, and it takes them a long time to get them out.I like using the doggie dentastix and they fit in perfectly. The Kong Extreme Goodie Bone is great value for money. This dog toy is a great item and i would recommend and have already.

My Staffy x Labrador is an exceptionally strong chewer, and as such we have always loved the kong toys for her. She also likes carrying her toys around in her mouth, but she never did that with the traditional kong, and tended to loose interest in it as soon as it wasn't filled with food!! The kong bone is a completely different thing though, she loves it when it has food in, but she also carries this around with her all the time (on walks, around the house, around the garden)and she chews it all the time, even with no food in!The construction isnt quite as sturdy as the standard kong due to the shape, and it has a few teeth marks in so far, but nothing else, If she ever manages to get through this one,I will be getting a new one for her straight away.Definately worth getting one!

This durable dog toy is a big hit with both our dogs. We have two fairly small dogs of quite differing ages (one is nine and the other two), but they both love to wrestle over this pliable red bone toy. Our younger dog is a bit of a chewer, but this toy has withstood all attempts to destroy it! Each end of the bone has a hole where you can load in treats (although they'd need to either be quite small treats or larger treats broken up into smaller pieces, or something spreadable like peanut butter). Even without the addition of any tasty nibbles, however, the molding on the ends allows the dogs to get a good grip which is perfect for when they want a good game of tug-o-war!I have included photos of how sturdy the toy still is even after over a year of everyday rough housing.

Our 15m old Labrador retriever chews everything! We find it difficult to keep him entertained with toys as he chews even the best toys into pieces however we have purchased other kong treat toys and he loves these but does get bored once the treats are gone.I have just taken this out the packaging and he wanted it: I’m hoping due to it being bone shaped he will play with it even when the treats are gone.Added his AATU treat bakes which are about the size of a 50p piece wide and had to cut in half to get into the slots on the side however the bone is quite a good size and is quite a good weigh. It seems like it may withstand even out doggos jaws, however I will leave an update at a later time.

My dog can and will chew through pretty much anything be it a cupboard door, a hard lump of plastic or even your socks. Nothing I have ever got him has lasted more than a couple of days and now with kong extreme it has been a couple of months and it is still hanging in there. It does have signs of wear and has lost one end but still makes for a fun toy for him. He is very anxious and when he feels this he likes to chew, this is perfect, a durable rubber bone which he can knaw on if he gets wound up or spooked by something, he would run about whining and barking when he heard a loud noise or saw birds but now he just runs and chews on this. Strongly recommend.

I have some destructive dogs. There are literally three toys I can give them without needing a hand on the other end to check they're not going to chew a chunk off.l and I've tried more than my fair share. Used by everything from a spaniel puppy to a adult rottweiler. Would I say no dog can destroy these? No I'm sure that there have been dogs but many destructive chewers use these successfully. My dogs seem to find chewing these satisfying enough that they don't feel the need to break chunks off. They find the texture satisfying and the ability to stuff the ends is useful too. I've bought a couple of these and if ever my digs did break one would buy again.

This Kong has lasted the longest out of the his toys. Teddy is an aggressive chewer and can get through normal toys with minutes. We've tried all different chew toys for him some lasting the week but not more than that. This Kong bone has lasted since Christmas and is still going strong. We play tug of war with it and catch and it's still in almost new condition (I know I've probably jinxed myself by writing this review and he'll break it today). Will definitely be getting more in the future. Teddy is an 11 month collie x basset hound.Only down side is we strungle finding treats the right size for the holes but Teddy loves it without treats.
