Firstly, my dogs are not chewers. They have never gnawed through any toy ever.I got the large size, though it was much chunkier than expected and my dogs are small terrier breeds. But this actually seems to have the added advantage that it's too big for them to pick up in their mouth and drop/crack/smash on the laminate floor. However, it is not at all heavy, so the dogs can push it about easily enough and it doesn't bang or clatter if flipped over. The ball in the large gyro is just a bit bigger than a large tennis ball. It has a finger sized hole for the food to drop out of. This hole has a staggered lip on the inside, which makes it a bit more challenging for the dog to get the food out.It also seems to stop the hole getting blocked, and prevents too much food falling out at once. One of my dogs is a smart cookie. The other one is . . . not. But both seem to have a good time with this toy, though they were initially a bit tentative of the size. Temptation soon won out, and they get braver with the toy each time they play with it.The ball unscrews to put the food in, and for cleaning. It screws and unscrews easily by hand, but the dogs have not managed to accidentally open it (something cheaper puzzle balls do, which spoils the fun). The red belt is a hard plastic, but light. It's too big for my little dogs to get their teeth around, but I could imagine this being an issue for bigger dogs that chew. KONG should probably release a heavy duty version with a red ring made of the same tough chewable rubber as it's original KONG range. The red ring is a hard, hollow plastic. The blue ball is a hard, transparent plastic. You can see how much kibble is inside the ball without needing to open it. It is surprisingly light. My two chihuahua X JRTs love shoving this toy around the kitchen with their noses, or smacking it about with their paws. It works well on smooth floors or low pile carpets. They're too small to pick it up, but they do gain quite a turn of speed on a smooth floor. The Gyro has been smacked about with paws and bashed into the walls a lot, but it doesn't seem to have taken any damage. It also hasn't left any damage on the hard furnishings. Always a bonus! It's really easy to clean and dry.A big hit with the furkids.

This is excellent, I feel it's less of a toy and more of a distraction. We have a very food orientated cocker spaniel so we fill this up with cucumber and carrot and give it to him while we eat our dinner. First few times giving it to the dog i suggest you give supervision until they're used to it and understand. See a few people saying their dog has ripped it to shreds - it is plastic so I don't know what you expect. If left unsupervised a frustrated dog will start to chew it although if the dog understands how to use it and it is taken off them when their treats are finished there has been no problem for us!Make sure the treats are small enough to come out the hole as it would frustrate the dog easily if they're getting no reward.

A little tricky getting the top to go back on its aligned thread and a little smaller than expected but my daschund cross loves his meals in this. Completely does away with any fast eating or choking problems. It keeps him excited and active. We no longer use a bowl at feeding times. He plays with it with much excitement and enthusiasm while having to work at getting his food. I have even got him to find and bring it to me when I need to give him the other half of his meal. Fun feeding at its best. Well done Kong. I've tried other products and gone thru 3 food balls in last year. This product looks set to last. Easily goes in dishwasher for superb cleaning.

Absolutely love this Kong.. it gives my Fox Terrier plenty of entertainment. Lots of fun to watch him too. I fill with kibble but put a blob of peanut butter at the exit hole making it a bit harder for him to work for his food.. I would strongly reccomend doing this if your dog us quick in getting the kibble out.. cleaning is easy too. The ball just unscrew in the middle and you can run it under the tap. Perfect item for dogs left by themselves to entertain themselves. I have given 5 stars for cleaning durability and easy to clean.. I would definitely recommend to friends and family. The small was a perfect size too

The ball in this treat dispenser has one hole which is partially covered from the inside to stop all the treats (i use kibble from my dog's daily allowance) from falling straight out. The ball is held within the ring, and can spin in any direction. The ball screws undone for cleaning. My 7 month old Labrador loves this toy. It's more difficult than the Kong wobbler (which he also loves). Sometimes he does not get all of the kibble out and then I have to remove it - if he gets frustrated with the last few bits he would chew it, which would destroy the movement. So I would always advise supervised play this toy.

We got this for our rescue staffy, he can chew through breeze blocks so we didn't expect it to last long, as it happened he loved it, used to carry it around with no teeth marks. It survived 18 months before he got it into his mind that the outer ring needed some restructuring. We still put treats into the ball and he carries it around in its current state. Have ordered another just now. Can't speak for everyone but for him this is one loved and cherished toy, stuff that usually carries the description 'indestructible' normally lasts hours. Hence the 5 star overall but the 4 stars for sturdiness and durability.

My terrier loves this. He's destroyed all of the other toys we've got for him in less than half an hour, including the extreme kongs, but he's so busy rolling it around to get the food out that he's not chewing this one! I definitely wouldn't leave him on his own with this as it's hard plastic but it works really well to entertain him for a while and get him active in the house. The hole is fairly big so they'll get quite a lot of the food quickly but it lasts a long time with the last few pieces. Overall I'm very happy with this toy and looking forward to not having to replace it anytime soon.

We've bought a fair few food dispenser and puzzle for our dog and this is one of the better ones. The Gyro mechanism slows food/treat dispersal compared to treat/food balls - which our dog has learnt that if he whacks it hard enough, they drop most of their contents! This is made of a sturdy plastic. Our dog won't chew plastic toys so if yours does, it's worth checking the packaging to see what kind of playing this toy can take.Overall, happy with the purchase and this is ideal for most size dogs!

I bought the smaller size, which is ideal for feeding my cocker spaniel puppy his meals as it helps to slow him down! Gets them to use their brains at the same time, whilst they figure out how to access the food. It works well with smaller dry food - the hole the food can fall out of is about 1-2cm wide . I find this is entertaining for my puppy and as long as you supervise whilst they are using it, it's hard wearing and looks like it should last a long time. Easy to open up to clean out.

My dog loves it, my partner however doesn’t as It’s very loud on wooden floors and against the wall. Our 5 month old lab, obviously loves food and seems to enjoy a challenge to get it, so this seemed perfect. The natural instinct treats fit perfectly. The only other issue we had was the ball opening itself if you haven’t got it on 100% perfect, which kind of ruins the game.If you have carpets or can deal with the noise it’s worth getting, as our dog did enjoy playing with it.

This is a very good product it keeps my twoJack Russell’s entertained and usually they distroy most of their new toys in the first 5mins but I’m surprised to say this products is very strong and sturdy, it’s still in one peace. The only thing I would say Though i have found it hard to find treats that fit in the hole perfectly, as if treats are too big they fall out easily or too big they get stuck in the ball. That’s the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

Brought this for our Collie cross who loves playing with toys and balls. We wanted something that he could entertain himself with when we weren't at home to play with him. He loves it! Spends ages flipping and chasing it round the room, with his mouth and pawing at it, especially when it's got pedigree cheesy nibbles in it...perfect size. Would definitely recommend. Can't comment on the durability of it as he's a 'player' not a 'chewer' but seems pretty solid.

This is absolutely brilliant for keeping my puppy busy! I put his food inside the toy whenever I was teaching him to be left alone and this toy kept him occupied for a long time....!!!!! He loved pushing it around with his nose getting the food out a little bit at a time. I found it very durable. There are a lot of scratches on it now but as it is kept outside and used 3 times a day I think that that is to be expected!

Strong and sturdy. Easy access to insert treats thanks to screw top. Driving my Pomeranian absolutely crazy !!! He’s definitely not the brightest tool in the toolbox (lol) but on the upside, I’m enjoying watching him !!! Highly recommended product : fun for the whole family except for the recipient dog!!! Loving it! BTW my Pomeranian is a Russian teddy bear weighing 4 bags of sugar... an XS is the size to go for.

Best thing I've ever bought our lab! He's a chewer and the toy is covered in teeth marks but he hasn't managed to destroy it and hasn't tried! He rolls and throws it around for hours waiting for the treats the fall out, he loves it. We love it cause it keeps him occupied for ages :) Just a bit tricky to find treats not too big for the hole but not too small that they fall out too easily....
