Having used a cheap set of grips in the past that continuously slipped off bolts and handles that kept snapping closed on my fingers I gave up using grips like this until I was recommended to try the Knipex Cobra's. I bought the 250mm (10 inch) version as it was the most useful toolbox option for me. so what did I like about this tool?:The jaws are thin enough to reach into enclosed spaces:The teeth are incredibly sharp, they grip onto bolts and wont let go, this is easily better than using an adjustable spanner, although the grips will chew into soft metal.: once the grips are effectively locked onto a pipe you don't have to squeeze them any more, just maintain pressure on the top of the handle and the teeth do all the work gripping like crazy, you can stick an extension bar onto the top handle to maximize leverage.: The push button adjustment works really well and offers a superb range of sizes.: the teeth of the tool have been hardened to a significant degree, these wont deform or roll like a cheap tool.: No matter what level of adjustment the handles always have a gap so you will never pinch your fingers again!.:The handles have been hot dipped and will not slide off the tool.:The only thing I will say is that the teeth are directional, you have to flip the tool over if you want to go from tightening to loosening to get the best grip possible.Yes these are around a tenner more than most brands but I think it is money well spent, these have never let go on me and will take all the punishment you can dish out to them, phenomenal performance!.

I picked these up in the 150mm (6inch) size so that I could carry a decent set of pliers in my shoulder bag that is on my person all the time. I have several pairs of these now as I really think the strength and quality cannot be beaten. The jaws open wide and are easy to adjust, the teeth are directional so provided you are applying pressure through the top handle they will bite into your work piece and effectively lock onto it, have a look on YT for some demos of how strong and grippy these are, I have seen the smallest in the range loosen a nut that was torqued to 20 ft pounds with no issue.I wanted to stay street legal so I paired the cobra's with a swiss army knife and I prefer this setupas I have had to put multiple warranty claims in for a certain american plier multi tool manufacturer that keeps breaking on me when I need it the most.

My second knipex pump plyers. My other one is the alligator. This one is cobra and has finer adjustment to jaw gap than alligator. I still find the push button is not as simple as slip joint but I may get used to this with time. Excellent jaw capacity for 250mm pumps. The quality is excellent and feel better in the hand than my rotten berger pumps. Time will tell how robust they are. The push button may suffer if thrown around a too box full of other heavy tools but I could be wrong no such concerns with alligator. Compact design puts to shame equivalent bahco pumps. Feels good in the hand. All in all excellent just check out alligator as well.

I don't like giving things 5 stars, I really enjoy using these. Excellent quality, good grip, the serrations on the teeth are vicious so do not try these on any workpiece you do not want to damage as they cut through paint and oxide on steel pipe as if it is icing on a cake. The grips are comfortable and positive and adjuster button is good and positive. The only problem is when you use these you normally find you need to tighten the bolts on your vice or get a heavier workbench.

It's a bit pricey, but the grip is incredible and the ergonomics are well thought out. Also impressive is just how wide the jaws open! A large range of pipes and fasteners are thus covered by a fairly light and compact pair of pliers. There's no denying it's an expensive tool, but if you use your tools to earn a living I would think most people would be happy to pay the premium.

I bought these recently as an upgrade and they’re such a great grips, considering they are 250mm they open so much wider than other 250mm brands. Once you get a grip onto something with these grips there’s no chance in it slipping, i use these for domestic plumbing and they fit mostly everything, even pump valves.

As an electrician, I have the bigger version of these, plus the huge straight-jaws £107 version. These little ones are typical Knipex quality and I wouldn't buy any other brand; they're respected in the industry. if you're doing CW20 or even CW25 armoured cable glands you can get by with these just fine.

These pliers not only grab, turn, lock onto anything. These pliers helped deliver my first 3 children. These pliers saved my marriage. This pliers made me quit drinking. They have the immortal power of the Ancient Greek gods inside them. Would trade my eternal soul for another set.

they may seem a little expensive for the size, but i can’t fault them, iv been doing a lot of work in tight spaces and they are brilliant for getting into the tight spaces with the added benefit of not slipping from the size you have pre set making them much easier to use.

I have finally decided to buy these quality grips after years of muddling along with cheap own branded makes.Whilst not cheap they do however make the job SO much easier. I wish I'd bought some years ago - then maybe I wouldn't have hated plumbing so much!

Bought to replace my standard knipex pliers as they were beginning to get worn down, but the added bonus of these is they're able to lock the Jaws so no chance of slipping and adjusting with your fingers taking the hit for it. Definitely worth the money.

It’s sturdy and well made.I found to be made of good quality materials and I believe it’s good value for money. The one thing I did not like was the letters of the brand stamp looked worn and it came in a poor packaging.

A bit pricey but a very good product compared with other makes i have used. These have the advantage of being able to 'lock' and don't become unwieldy when altering your grip.Very happy and will buy again.

Brilliant tool. Extremely handy in many various situations when other tools fail. Strong grip and excellent size change mechanism which never fails. I use this tool in an industrial maintenance role

Surprisingly good for its size.I used it for a couple of months now. It is very good to reach hard to get places. Anything smaller would not be very practical.Strong and well made
