For someone who has never used eyelet pliers it is not immediately obvious what to do with this piece of kit and after fiddling and practising for a bit i think i have figured it out. Essentially there are 9 tools which are interchangeable and can screw into the opposing screw thread holes at the working end of the pliers. Tools 1 to 6 are for punching holes of different sizes. Tool 7 is brass coloured and flat and is used opposite the hole punching tools when making holes in materials .Tool 8 (Female tool) is eyelet shaped with a hole in the middle and tool 9 (male tool) is eyelet shaped with a small mound in the centre. The pliers come with a big bag of metal eyelets.

I saw many unfavourable reviews for this but decided to give it a go because I had one some time ago. It went the way of many things during house moves over the years but I remember it was a useful bit of kit.I can only assume that the people who are having trouble with it haven't set the device up correctly. I have found that it punches a clean crisp hole in anything I have tried, card, leather and paper to name a few. The eyelets rivet in nicely and look professional. I have to restrain myself from putting eyelets into the morning mail, my children's coats or anything which comes to hand really, it's just so much fun. (childish I know).I would say that there is only one size of eyelet though which is about the size of a shoe lace hole,

Thought I would add an alternative as I find the negative comments at odds with my own experience. I have had one of these for over 20 years and it still works fine. The instructions are printed on the back of the packaging but its a very simple tool, just make sure the punch/dies are fully screwed into the head so that they align centrally when pressed. Have mainly used the punch for leather, particularly leather belts but have also used the eyelets to repair some old loved sandals where the leather ankle strap had detached from the main sandal.

I damaged 2 of the punches so contacted the company trying to purchase a new set of the punches...Graham contacted me and has sent ,free of charge a complete new punch and eyelets. Now thats what i call fantastic customer service and am having great results using this item..so thank you Draper..i wont hesitate to purchase your products in future.

I joined the rest, and decided, this tool didn't work very well at all when it came to eyeletting.... but, along came my wife and got it working fine, it's actually a good quality, handy little punch and eyeletter... for the price! (balance the eyelet on the flat side, then squeeze against the small raised centre pin)

Despite some of the reviews and because I don’t like the spoke type ones I went for this one and found it to do what I needed it for (punching holes in a leather belt) quite adequately. You just need to work out which attachments to use. I also like the interchangeable storage on the handle.

I was wary due to the low scoring reviews, but as all the Eyelet Pliers on Amazon appeared to score poorly I thought I would take the risk. However it functions as expected, and the price seems very competitive.

Easy to use if you follow the instruction. Punches out the holes well. Parts screw in easily and storing them on the tool saves the possibility of losing them so that's a bonus. The tool seems very well made.

The tool works well but the non-washered rivets that come with it are only suitable for very thin material or card, I got some Blackspur 4mm rivets as well, they have a longer shaft and do a better job.

Useful tool having both the hole punch and the eyelet pliers combined in one complete kit, no more searching for one or the other. Simple to use. Plenty of eyelets provided to keep me busy for a while.

Spent all day trying to make this work and it doesnt its ruined fabrics theres no instructions, all my family have had a try with this its just a throw away item - waste of time and money

A solid piece of kit. It works perfectly well for the mechanically minded people. Even for those new to the idea the instructions on the packet were quite adequate. Well worth the money.

This product was exactly what I wanted and does the job beautifully. There are several different shades of eyelets which makes selection to suit my belts perfect - thank you!

Delivery was prompt and the tool is of good quality, I have already found other uses for the eyelets. They are very easy to use and come in a variety of sizes and colours

I tried making my own corset for a costume, this was wonderful. Took a few tries to get used to, but no worries about running out of eyelets with the bag it comes with!
