Have only had this a day, but have made extra holes in several belts already. It does a lovely neat job. I only need it for occasional use, so didn't want to spend a fortune - but I have been pleasantly surprised by its quality. It remains to be seen how long-lasting it will be ...The spokes rotate easily (but not too easily!) in one direction only, so it is easy to select the correct size; and it doesn't slip once it has been set.The punch feels strong, and there is a satisfying "clunk" as it goes through the leather (no clunk, and it hasn't cut right through - I only made that mistake the first time!). So far, the cutting edges feel sharp,

A good product that will punch through quite thick and tough leather belts. You do need a fair bit of strength on the squeeze on the large sizes though thick tough leather though. I have found that you may need to retract the punch and turn the belt over and punch again from the reverse on my thick "military" style belt to get a clean hole right through. You can see the outline of the punch on the reverse so it is easy to line up on the reverse side. On my daughters thinner belts it goes through with ease. To change from one size to another you revolve the punch head. This can be quite tough to turn and on my punch pliers it was very stiff. A bit of light oil helped this considerably.

I needed to make a couple of holes in a leather luggage strap, and decided to buy a proper leather punch rather than just make the hole with a skewer or something...As I'm not likely to use this tool regularly, I didn't want to spend the earth, and this one stood out because the numerous good reviews, and the low price!Let me say, it has by far exceeded my expectations! For the money I paid for it, I was expecting something that might just about be up to the job - instead I got a brilliant, heavy and well made tool with a lifetime guarantee!It also punched the couple of holes I needed perfectly! - lovely neat round holes,

I lost some weight and wanted to go out on a pull so I obviously needed to put on my lucky belt. I put it on beforehand since I had a suspicion is wouldn't fit anymore what with now having a body hercules would be jealous of and what do you know, it doesn't fit anymore. Cue these hole punch pliers.I had to go over and punch the holes in 2 or 3 times so not quite sure about the heavy duty description in the listing but they got the job done and I have no complaints. You can select the size hole you want and need to use a bit of force to change the hole size.I'd recommend you get these if there are holes in your life you need to create!

I long-ago had a rather similar tool that was apparently lost or accidentally thrown away and it was missed.I bought this as I needed to create extra holes in some belts and also to assist a relative with some of her crafting needs. Quite capable of piercing leather and many synthetics, cardboard and paper, and many fabrics including thick linens and canvas, it is a potentially useful tool.Unless you are into leatherwork, it may not be used every day or even every month but I don't know of anything else that will punch through so many materials.

Wanted a punch for my belt and decided to go with this following other favourable reviews. Have to say the thing is solid, it feels really strong and robust in the hand and does exactly what it says on the tin - punched a couple of new holes in my belt quickly and easily.Once you've removed the lock on it (read Night Enfant's review for instructions), simply select the hole size you want and get punching.Nothing really more to say, glad I bought it and would encourage others to do the same - it's a bargain at just over a fiver.

The Silverline punch pliers arrived very quickly and were well packaged. The product is very sturdy and much better than I expected for the price. Whilst no real instructions, the product becomes very apparent how to use it. I had 3 belts that needed new holes punched, I lost weight. With help from my wife, I am not very dextrous, we managed to get the three holes punched in seconds. So I now have 3 wearable belts. They would have cost me much more to buy new! Recommended.

I'd recommend anyone buy this - every household should have one in fact. The smallest setting is perfect for making holes in watch straps and the larger settings perfect for making holes in belts. The cut is good and doesn't require amazing pressure to actually do the job and do it well. Used this now several times and each time it has done a really good job. The only thing I need to work on is my accuracy at deciding where to put the holes but that is my fault entirely!

Brilliant item. It honestly is heavy duty and actually quite heavy. It's nearly the size of shoe size 5 (UK size, see photo) so if you're looking for something small maybe this is not for you. I used it mostly on leather belts and it works wonders. Just make sure to use it the right way otherwise it leaves a circular mark on the leather (I was silly when I used it the first time ? )... Very happy with this I definitely recommend.

This is just what I wanted for extra belt holes etc. However, I was completely baffled when I first opened the packaging. I couldn't open or move the mechanism at all. Fortunately I read some other review comments and followed the recommendation to move the wheel round until it was between 'spokes'. Even then I had to encourage the little silver catch to spring open and loosen the mechanism. Thereafter it was a doddle.

Yes..i'll say buy this product if you need a hole puncher as it does exactly what its supposed to do...end of!!People just like to moan about anything and everything...going by some of the negative reviews i read before hand.To the product manufacturers, i say well done for a fantastic product, remember to stick a small user guide on the packaging or a small leaflet inside for those who find it tricky to use.

This has served me well - it was a great price so I was cautious about how good it would be, but I have to say any fears were unfounded. I have used it to make several holes in my hubby’s thick leather belts after he lost weight. It’s easy to use and worked perfectly. Make sure you line up the cutter properly and you can’t go wrong - it cut tye new holes easily. No hesitation in recommending this hole punch.

I was surprised how strong and good quality this product was. When I was buying it I thought even if it is crap I only wasted £7. Well, it is actually outstanding quality. I have used hole punchers in the past and I found them clunky and not great. This one cuts through even the thickest of belts with ease. Look no further, for this amount of money, you just won't find anything better (I reckon...) .

This I will say now is a beast of tool, if your wanting to put a hole in a small belt or anything needing precision then maybe not for you. If you are wanting to put a hole through a concrete slab then perfect, it does the job perfectly and will survive an atomic bomb blast so if you want one for life and to but a hole in anything then buy it ... can’t complain about something being too strong

Got this to breath new light into my favourite leather belt, that due to recent weight loss was too large! 2 new holes and back in use without risk of losing my trousers... One of a few tools I have from Silverline, seem to be well priced, very well made and just do their job. Belt is very thick, but 1 click, new hole, easy as - highly recommended if you need holes :)
