I'm an Electrician and this is one of the most regularly used tools in my kit. Really good build quality, feels and looks really well made. I work on domestic properties and this is the perfect tool for the job.Cuts through 2.5mm cable like butter and the wire stripping notches work really well, I hardly ever use separate cutter and stripper. The bending notch is pretty useful also. There was a slight bur on the cutting edge when they arrived but this came off with the first couple of uses and didn't seem to affect the sharpness at all.All CK tools seem to last a long time so I can't see me having to replace these for a while. They also make a 160mm version But I have pretty small hands and these 180mm ones seem like a good fit for my hands so I'm recommend getting the bigger ones, plus it will give you more leverage.

Brilliant pair of snips. I was cautious about the wire stripping holes not allowing me to cut cables off the reel in 1 go but it's perfect size. 2.5 TE is fine with room to spare on the blades... 3 core is the maximum these can handle imo which is fine for most installers.Stripping holes are very sharp. Do not squeeze tight as it will score the copper. when using the 2 copper stripping holes, also dont drag the snips along the copper to slide off the brown or blue sheath you have just strippedTerminating anvil is the main reason I purchased these snips, because previously 2.5 has always been a hassle to get completely folded over and flush for me....these do a perfect job once you practice a bit....

The side-cutter is one of the electrician's commonest tools and there are plenty to choose from. These are multi-functional; being cutters, strippers, benders and shears and, like most things which try to do everything, they're not as good at any one task as a single-purpose tool (except for shearing screws - for which they are excellent). However, and this is why I have a pair, they are very convenient when you're doing general maintenance and already have a tool pouch full of other necessities. They're not cheap but they are sharp and stay that way for a good while.

Very happy with these. Not quite sure about the other review suggesting they wont cut through 2,5mm in one go because they do... If they didn't i'd have sent them back lol. Very comfy to hold, the indents for stripping make light work of preparing cable for sockets. The 1mm indent helps but they are easy to strip with even blunt pliers so i generally just use the tip on the cutter on 1mm instead of lining the hole up. Worth the money for someone who needs this sort of product for frequent use, possibly an expensive overkill for a DIY type.

Easy to use, comfortable. Carry only this and a screwdriver up a ladder and you'll be happy.Limited uses, realistically 1.5 and 2.5 t&e only. For anything else the stripers and crimpers are not the right size to work efficiently. Cutter is 0.5mm too short to cut 2.5 t&e cable in one go.I do not expect the same service life as some other tools made from superior steel.Could benefit from a sharper outside jaw profile to allow better use as a reamer for removing sharp edges in holes in steel backing boxes.

Best snips on the market.Had my CK snips for over 2 years now and they are still as sharp as the day they were bought and in all honestly they have seen some abuse above normal snips use. The 1.5mm and 2.5mm cut outs are still sharp and a god send. Provide a clean cut and wouldn't use any other than these. The cutters for screws I've used a handful of times but they cut with ease and provide a clean cut without causing a headache when threading through box lids.Buy these snips! You won't regret it.

Have been using them over the last month. Best cutters I have owned easily.Nice neat cut on cable ties, cut easily through 4mm cables (largest I have used) + 4 core 0.75 flex, leaving a nice neat cut. Never been one for the stripping notches, but have found them very handy and may have been converted. Nice neat line around single 1.5/2.5 mm cables with no marks to the copper itself. The two screw shears also very handy, as they leave a neat cut and screw straight in.Highly recommend them.

Ive been using the combicutter 3's for a few years now and I wouldn't be without them. These ones (180mm) come with a slightly larger cutting blade which means you can now cut a 2.5mm cable with one cut (which was a slight annoyance with previous models). The other features are invaluable and Ive found cut down significantly in installation time. I especially like the pattress screw shears. Highly recommended for any electricians doing installation work.

Lost my pair of Knippex so shopped around for new pair and come across these beauties! Not a CK fan, but ordered lots different makes (CK, Knippex, NWS, Draper Pro) and these by far were the best quality and just felt right in the hand. The 1.5 2.5mm stripping notches are really good, but get a little technique to get used to. The screw cutters a brilliant added bonus.Used everyday for work, still sharp.Amazon price loads cheaper than wholesalers.

Love these. Most of my hand tools are CK and one of the sets came with the 160mm combicutter 3's. These are good, but they struggle on anything about 2.5mm T&E and there's not enough leverage. I'm not a fan of the 200mm cutters either as they are quite bulky and cumbersome. The 180MM Cutters here are an ideal size for most domestic and shopfitting work and once you get used to the notches for stripping cable, then they're so fast and easy to use!

I bought the pliers, having been given an Amazon voucher for my birthday, from my son. I liked everything about them and read other reviews before purchase. I'm delighted and have used them on a number of electrical jobs at home to date. They cut and snip great and the 1.5 and 2.5 wire stripping facility, is a bonus. I'd highly recommend them to any competent DIY'er, or trade electrician. Good brand too!

Got these originally to help with speed when it came to completing my work in college, but as soon as told my tutor there where nick named the cheat snips, and that1s all we know them as know. Apart from that I can say that these have lived up to my expectations, and I hope to last me until I start work officially. Would recommend if you want to up your work load.

Well balanced easy to use side snips. No running in required, not stiff or slack on first use. Very sharp and the stripper notch for 1.5 & 2.5mm cable is great. Also cuts 3.5mm & 4mm bolts without damaging the threads. Built in anvil make bending cable for termination very easy. I am a retired sparky, but I wish these were available when I was on the tools!

For cable upto 2.5mm Twin and earth these are without doubt the best side cutters. speeds up second fixing on new builds and rewires, cut socket pins to size which is usuful when you lose a pin and you've got to cut 75mm socket pin to size, when stripping it don't damage the conductors and are excellent for doubling cable upto 2.5mm Twin and Earth up.

Use many different cutter over the year. Once you go CK you don’t go back. Looks pricy initially but this will last you years, I can’t tell you how many basic pairs I have bough pairs and replaced after few months. Bough my first ck snips over 5 years go and still going strong so super for the new max version and leave most snips behind.
