I am an average DIYer and bought several tools in the past 10 years from lots of different brands (from the cheapest Chinese ones up to famous pricey brands). In the last couple months I noticed Silverline and this is my 2nd tool from them (I now have more than 5-6). I honestly feel that they are the greatest value for money tools that I have ever bought... They are strong enough and can be compared easily with much pricier items in terms of quality/materials and sturdiness. This specific tool was a life saver for me. I had installed the Hive TRVs and then wanted to remove them. Their unlock mechanism was faulty and couldn't remove them with any other trick. So I read that someone else had used a plier and removed them by grabbing them from their lower part. I struggled with 2-3 different pliers but after receiving the Silverline Plier I finally managed to remove them easily in seconds!!!I don't know how many times I will need to use this tool again in the future but at this low price it's definitely an addition to my toolbox that I won't regret. Just recommended!P.S. If you liked my review please vote it as helpful :)

These are probably fine for occasional domestic use and DIY, and are priced accordingly (£5.28). Mine were poorly finished around the 3 middle slip joint surfaces with a ridge that needs to be filed down (you can see the bright silver edges inside the slip joint where they are rubbing even before use) or allowed to wear over time. The pliers don't close easily and you have to press them shut. You can live with it, but if I needed them for work, I'd look at a better quality tool (quality brands seem to start at £15 mark).Overall fine for the odd bit of DIY, but if you like well made tools, then look at Bahco or similar - for three times the price.

I've had several similar pairs of pliers in the past, all of which have come in an off the shelf toolkit, which have all been garbage. You know the kind of thing, adjust it to the right size, attack the nut you are loosening/tightening, your hand slips, you wrap your knuckles and the pliers no longer lock in to place. Little more than unusually shaped paperweights. These are totally different. There have a strong, firm action and a simple mechanism for ensuring they don't slip. The teeth are strong and don't deform, rather they hold the nut tightly. The grips are moulded and well fixed so they don't disappear mid job. Highly recommended.

Plumbing is something I am definitely not an expert in but needed some pliers just to remove and replace a couple of radiators around the house. For the price I paid for these they are more than adequate for the everyday DIY'er. They are substantial enough and long enough to apply a fair amount of torque and made light work of the radiators fittings. I would suggest if they were given heavy use they would wear considerably at the adjuster but they certainly served their purpose for me.

I had a really dirt cheap version of these pliers that I used on lots of occasions. I lost my dirt cheap pliers and missed them horribly. These are much better built and, while not so cheap, are much better quality. Buy them and throw them in your tool box for when you need them.If you need this type of pliers for professional work you may wish to pay a lot more. If you just need some pliers with more leverage every now and again why pay a premium price?

well made tool this, will last for years, but the name (waterpump pliers) kinda suggests that is this tool,s only purpose,nae....you can get into pipes in corners under the sink, easy peasy where you have trouble with spanners mole grips and the like.Easily ajusts for bigger sized couplings, nuts, ect and the long slim handgrips give great leverage. Can even use them to tighten the wheel nuts on the kids bikes. For around a fiver......these pliers are a gem!!!

Well worth the money, excellent transaction from start to finish, quick delivery. Quality tool. I paid about a fiver. The jaws are slim, as the description says, Useful being able to grab things precisely. I bought these pliers to help me with the big nuts, found in a close coupled toilet. If you are fitting a toilet, this is the tool (or similar) that you need. DIY toilet fitter... (glamorous job)...not a professional.

Well made and should last a long time as the adjustment mechanism should not bind like it does on other makes of adjustable pliers after a certain amount of use. Once set at the desired spacing it will not move out of that position when you are using it and they feel comfortable due to the fact that they are angled just right and give enough leverage when in use without the need to put in much effort in there use.

Because of weakness in my hands I find often that I can't get the caps off bottles and cartons and I almost always have to use pump pliers. I had been using a very old pair where the pivot point was a nut and bolt which had rusted solid. This new pair has a diferent and much better pivot arrangement, it's very easy to adjust the jaws and now it's a doodle to get caps loosened.

Received quickly and a bit heavier than expected. I hope the weight equates to better quality but what I can say is that it does the job with the minimum of fuss and it feels solid. Great value for your money and useful for plumbing (which is what most people will be buying this for) as well as odd jobs around the house including work on one's bicycle.

I looked at other more expensive Waterpump pliers, and couldn't make up my mind if it was worth the extra expense. These pliers are reasonably price and did the plumbing job I wanted it to do.(Changed washer in 2 taps) I've used these a number of times for other things and I have only had them a week. Very handy tool for the toolbox.

I have these slimline pliers in a small toolbox for occasional needs in the house. They are suitable for many small DIY tasks.Much better than my previous pump pliers that have lasted for many years, I am sure these will last much longer.Excellent quality pliers that are good enough for the professional user.I would recommend it

Not sure what it's made of, but it's light and feels a bit fragile. However, it's been the most useful tool ever.I used it to undo the plughole from a sink, I couldn't find a spanner big enough and this was perfect.I've used it for a bunch of other stuff since, for totally the wrong purpose, and it's been incredibly handy.

I bought these to replace a set that came apart, with help! This pair are much sturdier, and larger. I don't have big hands, so this is a personal issue. My pair are a bit stiff to adjust the jaw size, but that hopefully means they are less likely to slip when under pressure. Whether they loosen, only time will tell.

Have to say this silverline product was much better quality than expected. Not used it yet as was topping up my tookbox with a few cheap tools, but i can safely say this will grip anything of the appropriate size very well without the handles bending or breaking. Its a decent tool for the cost.
