these are the best cutters i have ever used and i have been using cutters for over 19 years now.ive used nippex and lots of others and these are buy far the daddies!the only single complaint i have is that the spring (that can be positive pressure or no pressure opening the handles) is in the way, not a major problem but more of a pain as when you 'hook' them on your jeans etc pocket the spring does tend to catch and tear the pocket.ive tried to remove the spring but it is very strongly moulded into the plastic on the handle.ive now got 2 pairs and would ONLY buy these ever again.i use 2-3 pairs of cutters a year but since getting these they have lasted a good 14 months so unless your clumsey and loose your tools these will pay for themselves in no time,(jeans will be used though!) they stay sharp for ages and feel really nice and comfortable to use.if it wasnt for the spring then they would get 101%!!!and no i dont work for Bahco! :)

.These Bahco 2101G-160 Ergo Side Cutting Pliers were expressly ordered to help in network cabling. They are to be used in conjunction with Crimping plier. For the purposes helping to construct, fix and readjust network plugs/boots at the ends of Cat5e and Cat6 cables. The Side Cutting Pliers will help 'clean away' sheaths of shielding material as well as helping to cut through the cable and save wear on the Crimping blade. Now the Crimping plier can do some of the work, however, it is not as well suited to the task as the Side Cutters are, and these are easier to manipulate in the long run. Obviously there are a whole plethora of other uses for this device – but in this instance they are invaluable and really make the task at hand easier and makes for a cleaner job.The Bahco make is robust, well made and sits well in the hand..

We had a particular issue to resolve in cutting several hundred thousand pieces and after a few false starts with lesser models (blunted or blades damaged in short time), I settled on the 180 version of the Bahco cutters (the shorter version were OK but took more effort than the 180's. We purchased a few dozen in all and most are still going strong after a very punishing regime of cutting heavy gauge carbon steel fishing hooks. Even thogh some have been blunted (eventually) they are capable of being dressed to resharpen them and put them back into service. Although not the cheapest, I would strongly recommend these cutters as they a really solid; built to last and comfortable in use.

It's hard to believe that I bought mine in 2001. On a number of occasions, I have had to abuse them when in a tricky situation involving screws nails and the like, yet they still cut paper cleanly with a satisfying click, and you can watch people weep when you use them to cut PTFE tape. The 140mm size is good for electronics and light electrical installation work. Steel armouring on 10mm2 cable is easily cut 3 or 4 strands at a time.Heavier stuff needs the 160mm length, which might also be better when doing repetitive cutting. 160mm seems to sit better in the hand for long periods.

I chose these over knipex side cutters or any others I now have in the shed. They are slimmer in the handles have spring in grip for multiple cable cuts and stripping the blade is bent slightly for closer cutting and the way that they have been sharpened stays sharp. They are not suitable for working live as they have no finger guards but then there shouldn't be power on if your cutting cables. I'm on my 3rd pair aft losing or breaking them. I'm a sparky by trades and use this to strip bt cables upto 10mm above that and the larger handle pair is needed or shears

As a telecoms engineer this is a tool I use all day every day. Bahco are king of tools and this is the best set of cutters I have ever owned.I come back and buy the same set every time. Mind you that's only normally when I lose a pair or need to make up another set of tools because they last for years. This is a perfect size too they cut anything easily I have tried bigger sized ones but they were harder to control for delicate work.If you need cutters just buy them, I promise you will not regret it!

They feel perfect in the hand and cut very well.I like them soo much i have two pairs, one for work and one for home. The idea that you can use the springy thing to open up the side cutters is a brilliant idea. I dont usually use this but when i do its nice and quick to do so, put it away again so they act like normall side cutters again. Gets it out of the way to stop it being annoying.Would definatley recomend to anyone thinking of buying this pair.

I have owned the same pair of bahco side cutters for the past 8 years and they still hav'nt let me down yet, as an industrial electrician these get used of heavy pieces of kit on a daily basis and will even cut through 5 core 2.5mm SWA cables no problem and are still sharp. Without a doubt THE best side cutters available and great value for money, £20 pounds for 8 years worth of work and still sharp....do the math.

love bahco always havethese are very sharp and do last last a while if kept oiled clean ect.only negative is there is a metal spring arm you can slide up to make them spring loaded but as i came to find out the button is on the inside of the handles and if one was to cut threw a live cable one would most definitely get a bite! trust mesaying that iv just bought another pair ;S

Fantastic cutters! They are smaller than my last ones, but these cut really well and are used every day. The slide mechanism in the handle turning the auto opening on and off is easy to use and works well. For 1.5mm - 4.0mm twin and earth these cut no problem. Personally, I'd use the larger ones for 6.0mm twin and earth upwards, but these will cut it with strong hands no problem!

Nice quality cutters, good weight, easy action, nice grip, yes I know the retractable spring now makes them pretty dangerous for electricians, but for a powered access engineer they're ideal. Nice blade length allows for cutting those pesky tie wraps, and the width allows the blades to get in tight places. Should last me a while if I don't leave them in a a machine.....

Bought these two years ago and have used them every day in my job as an electrician. They are still as sharp as when I bought them and the blades are still accurate enough to trim printed paper label strips. Will happily buy any Bahco tools as they are quality items. The cutting edges do not look or feel sharp but they certainly cut cable quickly and easily.

Excellent little set of cutters, cut way over their recommended cutting thicknesses and haven't broken yet even to the amazement of my work colleagues with much more experience. being able to turn the spring return on and off is also an excellent feature. pleased that i bought them and when they do eventually give up i would happily buy another set.

Great for general purpose snips, will handle most anything and ideal for 1.0mms welding wire. Return spring is really handy. I have both the 125 & The 160's. Now for the really important bit, Bahco DO NOT advertise these as VDE. If you work on live electrical power then select VDE tools! Highly Recommended but not for live electrical work.

Best snips I've had. Ive used them manly for cutting the braid on cable, tie wraps and cable wires no bigger than 4 mm. Had loads other inc knipex n these better, cheaper also. I've had mine for 3 year n just starting to slack a bit, still sharp but just a bit buckled, but that's off 3 year of every day use. Defo be getting another set.
