I first came across these in the 80's whilst working 'on the tools' as a maintenance technician. I've had loads of different makes it slip joint pliers but non have come even close to the quality and convenience of these Swedish babies (or they used to be Swedish).A little bit of brand history.Back in the 80's, Bahco was a part of Sandvik's saw and hand tool devision (Swedish steel). This changed in the mid 90's when the US global tool conglomerate Snap-on tools acquired Bacho. For those in the know Snap-on tools have a reputation amongst many who earn their living using hand tools as being amongst the best that there is out there - particularly mechanics. This also hold true for Bacho tools. To be candid these slip joint pliers are the dogs b0llocks. The slip joint mechanism which unique to Bacho is second to none and can be operated with one hand. The handles are really comfortable to hold and one can really expert some wellie without the risk of slipping or rounding of on a job [unlike inferior designs]. This is in part due to the jaws being precisely manufactured and well designed. It sometimes pays to buy quality. This is so true when buying hand tools as cheaper, inferior tools often qickly fail or wesr out. These pliers used to be £50+ from the likes of Tool Station and Screw-Fix. At the current price on here - presuming that they are not fake which to be candid isn't to rare on Amazon and similar sites - they are an absolute steal.Given my experience of these so far....Highly Recommend.

I'd put up with a really old pair of slip joint pliers for years and years until the joint finally wore out and slipped out of lock, crushing my fingers between the handles very painfully. They did give me plenty of warning, to be fair, but when you can get an absolutely top-notch (see what I did there?) replacement like this for only 18 quid, I wish I'd done it years ago. It's possible to get a cheaper Bahco version without the button quick release, but the convenience of the top model is worth having. The action is lightly sprung which makes them a pleasure to use. The grip is rock solid and the sliding action of the joint feels like that of a precision instrument. Top German quality (OK,made in Spain, apparently), but 5 stars for quality and value from me.

this tool brought me back to amazon (I have left it for search results pollution)I used to have a pair when they vere 49 pounds in toolstation and 55 screw-fix. once you realize that you can not turn side-wards,these tools last until they get stolen...grip is far superior to any others and second grip position means that you can tight within smaller spaceStable connection means that you can hold shower nut without scratching it and teeth are strong enouth to repetitively scratch chrome of the pipe enough to fit push-fit...

The work in the kitchen has started and this means plumbing. My old slip joint pliers were well past it and needed to be replaced.Bahco is a good qulaity brand and I opted for these, although it was possible to buy similar for about half the price. All I can say is that this tool is pure quality, it is easy to use, it hasn't slipped yet, and I made the right choice buying the more expensive model. The release on the handle also makes them very easy to use :-)Recommended.

A really useful pair of Slip Joint Pliers which have a good quality feel as you might expect from Bacho. They are easy and positive to adjust and have comfortable hand grips and acurately machined jaws. One minor irritation is that the handles will not stay together when not in use (spring loaded) which makes then awkward to stow in the tool box. A simple rubber band will fix this tho'. Would have given them 5 stars but for this.

I've had a set of Bahco Slip Joint pliers since 2005, for the first 10 years I used them every day plumbing and gas fitting. They're still going strong since I've retired. They're quick and easy to adjust one handed and made from quality materials. I've just bought my brother-in-law a pair and he's very impressed. I would recommend everyone to invest in a pair of these - they'll never let you down.

I had a pair of these wonderful pliers in my plumbing tool box. Then some dear, sweet fellow broke into the house I was working on overnight and stole all my plumbing tools! The Bahco 8224s really are the best pliers I have ever come across and as a professional bathroom fitter/plumber I wanted the exact same ones to replace the stolen ones. I thoroughly recommend them.

Good solid pliers. Bahco is a good brand. I particularly like the spring action to open them up when not under compression. I use these all day every day as a gas engineer. This is my 2nd set as I use them 5 days a week. The teeth will loose grip over the years but apart from that they are excellent value. Believe me as I have had many others.

Brilliant bacho quality, not designed for heavy duty work so if you expect to undo rusty old nuts and swing 16 stone on the end of them yes they will probably brake, but for light duty workshop jobs plumbing etc... these are brilliant, better than any other make highly recommend.

Top quality, as expected by Bahco.I use these on a daily basis and wouldn't want to use another brand.Other - cheaper Pliers sometimes become loose after time and slip mid job - these are well made and last a long time.Comfortable grip, well made with quality materials.

Brilliant tool, just remember to dry them off if you get them wet, the head rusts quicker than an old British Leyland car!Keep it clean it'll do almost everything that you ask of it. You can always rely on Bahco to do a good job.If only they did a Plumber proof model!

Replaced a well worn set of pipe pliers with these. What a difference.Easy one hand adjustment, nice narrow jaws, fantastic grip with no discomfort even under significant load.I knew there was a reason to try and buy Bahco - great quality tools, well designed.

Comfortable to use, feels very solid and well made and well, just...Bahco. If they make the tool i am looking for at any given time, then i don't even bother looking at alternatives, as they are of such high quality design and construction.

an excelent tool that will give many years of service,i have had two previous tools over the last thirty years in my profession as a plumbe, but have lost both,,whilst the cost is fairly high, you have to pay for quality.
