Several years ago I bought a larger version of the Knipex pliers wrench for my toolbox, and have been extremely happy with it. I nearly always use it in preference to a standard adjustable spanner ("Crescent wrench").Six months ago I bought the 125mm version (86 03 125) of the Knipex, and have been carrying it with me every day in a pouch on my belt, alongside my Leatherman Surge multitool, to replace a 4" Bahco adjustable spanner.Whilst the Leatherman will happily grip objects in its pliers, the teeth are not best suited for tightening nuts and bolts. The Knipex pliers wrench on the other hand, with its smooth parallel action jaws, is a much better tool for this sort of work. If necessary,a bolt can be held stationary with the Leatherman, and then the nut can be loosened with the Knipex. The jaw opening of 23mm vastly exceeds the 13mm of the Bahco, and it can be used for jobs which an adjustable spanner can't tackle, like straightening metal. Once you get the hang of it, the ratcheting action speeds up tightening and loosening tasks, and the self-tightening jaws mean that you don't have to grimly keep the handles pressed together like a pair of pliers.Although I don't use it every day like the Leatherman, it has come in very useful and is particularly good on brake pipes.I have no hesitation in recommending this great little tool!

I bought the 125mm version of this tool as I thought I’d give it a try. I have a pair of Klein pump pliers which cost approx £70, which I was never really impressed with. I have a recurring old injury and I’m looking to lighten my every day carry load, and I figured these would suffice for 80% of my jobs.Firstly they’re small, very small. But they feel good quality, and as they open to approx 21mm they’ll be useful for lots of applications. I’ve already used them this afternoon and they were impressive. Being Knipex I don’t think quality will be an issue going forward, I have some old Knipex stuff from years ago and they’re still very good.Already I’m looking at a bigger version,I’m not sure yet how big I want to go ( cost v use I’ll get from them ) because they aren’t cheap, and as my Klein ones failed to impress, I’m mindful of wasting another £70.I read a review in which it was stated By the reviewer he’d wished he’d got them sooner, this edged it for me and I feel the same after buying them too.

Wonderful tool. Grips like nobody's business.Very easy to EDC (everyday carry) with a belt pouch made for multi tools or torches. I made a custom one for it.I posted a full video review about it on Youtube, but I don't think I'm allowed to link stuff here.Don't overthink this purchase, it's one of the nicest tools you will ever own.Shown (in the photo with my hand) next to the Knipex Cobra, which I'm not a fan of.Also consider getting a Wera Zyklop Speed Ratchet. Similar sized tool and they work great as part of a compact kit. (Green tool in attached photo)Another nice compact tool is the SOG Pocket PowerPlier, which has around half as much grip force as this, which is still a lot.Not pictured. And the other photo is showing some scrap metal that I bent to shape and used to repair my headphones.

Knipex wrenches, gripping firmly with smooth parallel jaws, prevent the rounding of nuts, especially alloy ones. I use a large Knipex in place of the dedicated tool for traditional bicycle threaded headset top nuts and they work far, far better. This small Knipex I bought for holding the flats on alloy straddle cable yokes that otherwise distort a little when clamping the cable even when using a well-fitting spanner; the Knipex leave them unmarked. In short, these are brilliant, even "essential" tools. I cannot praise them enough and would not be without them. Highly recommended!

Small but powerful, an especially nice touch are the extra slim jaws. They allow it to slide in places where no 1" capable adjustable wrench can ever go. I will be using it on camera and grip equipment on film sets, and the mix of imperial and metric fasteners means that it will replace a bag of wrenches. I'm also supplementing it with the 125mm Knipex Cobras which open even wider and have sharp teeth for those already stripped nuts and bolts.

These are a great tool, very small though! If i lay them in my hand they measure from the base of my thumb to half way up my index finger. They have some awesome gripping power, 10 times more than the pressure you apply apparently. As they close symmetrically you get even pressure all around with no damage to any bolt you tighten. If you are contemplating buying, just do it, you will love them

Everybody says it:I wish I had bought this years ago. So tru. I've always bought good tools, but not always the best. Knipex are the best, and now I'm not permanently skint I'm replacing my forty year old tools with stuff that's kinder to my hands.

Amazing little tool. Just perfect for odd jobs around the house, gripping odd items and holding or turning low torque nuts. They look like a toy but grip like a bulldog. Superb, get some.

If you want the best wrench pliers buy Knipex. Yes, they are expensive, but its a classic case of getting what you pay for, and they'll almost certainly outlast me.

Perfect little tool. I mountain bike and this goes everywhere with me when I'm on the bike. Highly recommended. Knipex are expensive but you get what you pay for.

These little gems are just fantastic. Opens up enough to fit 15mm compression fittings, just. And holds as good as any dedicated spanner. Highly recommend.

I was dubious about spending so much on a wrench. However this is no ordinary wrench. It's a first class piece of kit ideal for my bicycle toolkit.

Well made tool that feels strong in the hand. You may struggle to use it if you have big hands as the grip is quite short.
