This is a great product, versatile and very solidly made.Previous comments about the instructions are fair, in that they could have been much more helpful, especially in giving guidance on blade selection and how to deal with different types and sizes of things like the carrot example. Which by the by the way, is best to be done by hand i.e. not use the slider/ holder, and then either finish the stubbs by hand or eat them (Chef's bonus).Whether you use the slider or not there will always be a small bit that does not/ cannot be cut!The versatility is you can adjust the thickness easily, and there IS a scale on the inside edge of the unit. The different blades allow you to; grate fine/ coarse,

After searching endlessly on the Internet for a Vegetable Slicer - checking out so many brands and reading so many reviews, a number of which could drive you mad because of the contradicting results - I decided this one looked the best.The packaging is excellent, so great if you want to buy as a gift. The mandoline slicer is sturdy stainless steel and the rests open out easily and grip well on any surface. The blades are really easy to insert and it's so simple to use, there is no need for instructions!!!All the blades are razor sharp so use the protected part to insert and remove. I tried all the different types and sizes of cuts on potatoes, apples and carrots.

OK, it's fiddly to construct, a sod to wash and just isn't worth getting out of the drawer if you only need to slice one onion ....This is a professional grade product, and of the genre it's the best you'll get. I echo another reviewers frustration about the blades, although I think the problem actually is in a bit of slackness in how the thing fits together.If you've got to slice 20 odd onions, or dice or julienne or whatever, there isn't really a better device for the job. Unless you want to use a sharp knife and blood, sweat and tears.It's not a great deal better when you use it than the sort of thing you see on the all night shopping channels, but it will go through a wish-dosher,

This Product is pretty Damn sharp, i recieved my one yesterday and so far it is doing me justice,The Blades are not overly sharp, but you still need to go careful, I think the other reveiws who have said about the instructions are fair, but it is very easy to assemble as the are 2 different types of blade type.I will purchase another one in time to come,but at present very happyThank you,p.s.please do not take notice of the other sellers who have put negative, the product is guranteed and of a very high quality,

This mandoline is solidly put together, there is no flimsy plastic bits that will break off. You understand why they guarantee for 25 years!The instructions make it clear how to set the blades up and there is a scale on the side of the main unit (in inches and mm) to allow you to set the slice thickness.The food holder attaches to the main body to prevent any slippage and the blades all come in their own box (understandably as they are razor sharp).This is a great product and does what it is meant to do.

This is a really well made piece of equipment and a pleasure to use. One of the reasons for buying it was the 25 year garantee, it should last a lifetime?.However the clip mechanism for retaining the main cutting blade is the design weak point, also the blades will eventually go blunt. As I am unable to find any mention of spares on the manufacturers website this gives me cause for concern. If it wasnt for this I would have given it 5 stars.

This mandoline is great. It slices and dices to a variety of thicknesses for all sort of veg. It works a treat on root veg.Comes with seven blades, some of which you use together.The only downside is that there are no instructions on how some of the blades must be used together otherwise they won't do the job. However, it's not particularly difficult to learn and the results are worth it.With a 25 year guarantee whose complaining!!

This Mandoline set is really good, it is half the price of the more well known expensive ones but does just as good a job if not better as it has attachments also. it is sturdy and non slip. Diferent blades make light work of many different recipes, and the finger guard does actually do its job well. I am happy I have purchased this one. It does just what it says on the box, well worth the money I paid for it.

Have used with potatoes, sweet potatoes, sweede and even semi frozen duck breast. But, like all mandolines, it's razor sharp and you can hurt yourself if you don't treat it with care. We actually have a steel glove (looks like something a Knight would have worn as part of their armor) so avoided any nasty cuts since the first time we cut ourselves. It is razor sharp!

I was not sure if this was the right thing to buy, but it had more good reviews than bad, so I risked it. I have to say I am impressed, once you get in the rhythm of slicing, it is very easy, though I personally prefer to use it with out the safety plate. I am enjoying it very much, and also it DID arrive with instructions, which were useful and easy to follow.

I bought this recently and have used it a lot more than I thought I would. I have found no problem with the slicing width as it has a gauge on the side, a bit fiddling to clean but worth the aggro. The build quality is excellent with the blades kept in a seperate box - I keep the machine in it's original box - a little bulky - if I was being picky

I purchased this item to encourage myself towards more healthy eating. We all love food but hate the time it takes to prepare.This Mandoline set really cuts down the preparation time enabling me to work quickly and safely when preparing vegetables or fruits.It is compact, easy to clean and above all very stable, making it also very safe to use.

I got this as a present for my friend who's a professional chef. He got some use of it at home and later used it extensively in the restaurant where he works - never a problem with dull blades or other issues. Mandolines are not easy things to use and do need a fair bit of practise, but I think this is hard to beat for the price...

when it arrived my wife thought it was an industrial or restaurant machine. I have to say it was a lot larger than I had expected, and when used takes a whole worksurface. That said I do find it very useful and use it at least every other day, it saves time and gives the food a nicer visual look.

Very impressed - storage case extremely useful. Product easy to use and, even better - easy to clean. No dangerous exposed edges like inferior products. And love the 25 year guarantee. Looking forward to many happy and hours in the kitchen experimenting and using the different blades.
