I have no idea why people complain about this little device! It works perfectly well for me (pictures attached), does what it says on the box, it's very quiet, and I'm one happy customer. Cleaning is not a big deal at all, I rinse the parts with hot water, dry them, and that's it. Took me less than 2 minutes. The device comes VERY well packed, not a chance that it would move inside the box. And the leftovers, which can't be spiralized are actually quite small (see pic). Easy enough to chop them up and to add to the food, might take another 60 seconds or so.I wholeheartedly recommend this device.PS: i just read that some customers actually tried to use this device manually - the transparent part has to click into place! If it doesn’t the machine won’t start! It has to be twisted CLOCKWISE, until you get an audiable “click”! Then it works a charm.EDIT March 30th 2018:After a month using it I kinda understand some people's problems. The machine tends to be temperamental (don't ever try and use a courgette which is even slightly soft in the middle - the "cross" at the bottom of the holder device won't be able to stick in and hold properly, and you get the "hey, my courgette is spinning and spinning" but no courgettis.I still like and use it, but you really want to use fresh and firm vegetables!

It is definitely a useful item to have, but you need to buy large (width) vegetables to reap the benefits!! Small and narrow vegetables just don't work. However, I have had some great results using carrots, courgettes and cucumbers with good girths! When I have used narrow vegetables the machine simply swirls/spins around and I end up wasting most of the vegetables, so simply resort to manually chopping with a knife. At first, I must admit, I didn't realise you could get the Sprializer to remain on auto pilot, thus freeing up your hands to concentrate on sprializing the vegetable. It makes life easier once you have figured that one out! However, not easy to use is the black vegetable holder which you use to hold the vegetable in place in order to push it down the shoot. Unfortunatley the holder does not do a very good job of holding vegetables in place and as such most vegetables swirl aimlessly around and you end up wasting loads of vegetables. Thus the need to buy veg with good girths!!!On a whole, however, I am happy with the spiralizer and have had some excellent results. It's great fun when creating swirls or spirals of veg for teenagers - makes vegetables for more interesting and inviting - even for adults!

I hesitated about buying this as it had some very mixed reviews and is very expensive at the original price. However, I really wanted a spiraliser because I have Type 1 diabetes and don't eat carb so I knew it would give me a much greater variety of meals but I also knew that I am far too lazy to faff about with a manual one. Anyway, when the price reduced, I took a chance and I am so glad I did. It is brilliant and has revolutionised my meals. I've had it about 6 weeks and I've spiralised courgettes for all sorts of 'spaghetti' and 'noodle' dishes, carrots for Thai dishes and celeriac for pesto dishes. Beetroot is next - although I've no idea what to do with beetroot!!!All have worked brilliantly although the celeriac is a little tricky as you have to cut it to a size and shape to fit the tube. It is easy to use and easy to clean. I'm not really sure why some reviewers have had such difficulty with it - unless they had faulty ones. I use it at least 3 or 4 times a week - although I'm a little miffed at the current national courgette shortage! LOL!

I wasn't really expecting total satisfaction from this machine, but I actually do like it. It is sturdy enough and, after a couple of failed attempts caused by my own inexperience, it spiralized a sweet potato quickly and neatly. It is important to press hard enough on the plunger, and for the veg. to be very firm, otherwise the plunger will lose its grip and the veg. will spin around. If that happens it's easy enough to just cut the mashed end off and start again. The only downside I've found is that the cord storage is rather pathetic and irritating. It's not on a recoil sort of system, you just keep shoving it through the hole until it stays in there. It might have been better with a trap door on the back and pegs to wind the cable around inside … with space for the plug.On the whole, I do like it, and will most likely be using it daily. Spirals cook lots quicker and are fun to eat in many different ways.

Ok im not exactly sure why some people have issues with this, are you trying to spiralize custard. Honestly its so simple. I have successfully spiralized courgettes and sweet potato. Make sure your veg is long and firm (ahem). Anyway, not veg thats been left in the fridge for a week (or worse still, left out of the fridge). Chop the end off veg to get a flat surface then stick the attachment into the veg firmly. Then firmly apply pressure, pushing down when the machine is on. This is key!Honestly im sure people are just not giving it a chance. You should be left with a small cone shaped piece if veg. Remove this and do the same routine with your next piece of veg.If you dont apply pressure its just going to spin uncontrollably.Beware the blades are mega sharp.Easy to clean and assemble. My diet is much healthier now i have this.

The spiralizer is very easy to use and very quickly processes the vegetables with little waste; faster than grating. To get the best results, i.e. longest consistent spiral lengths, the leftover vegetable core should be removed before placing another one in. Works well on carrots, courgettes, and other hard vegetables.Spiralized vegetables instead of noodles or spaghetti makes a great tasting healthy alternative and kids can have fun too!It could also be used for thin curly fries using potato or sweet potato. It comes with a fine and coarse blade. The finer blade make spirals a similar thickness to medium noodles. The machine is easy to clean and compact in size so can be used regularly without cluttering the kitchen.Overall a great little machine!

I was asked to trial this product. I'm not new to spiralising I love courgetti but the manual one I had broke so I was excited to try this electric one. Courgettes were a success in this making long lovely strands. Carrots were good but I'd recommend using larger ones as the small ones tended to get caught at the bottom and I had to turn off the machine to dig them out that's why I'm leaving off a star. Sweet potatoes and butternut squash were also good. The veg all goes in the compartment rather than all over the kitchen side and all removeable parts can go in the dishwasher. You only get two attachments. I would have like more for different shapes/thickness etc.Hopefully they will bring out some more!

I was a bit dubious about buying this because of the reviews but i thought i'd try it anyway. It arrived yesterday and i couldn't wait to try it. Its really easy to assemble and i didn't even need the instructions. I only had onions in so i thought i'd start with those. I was actually really impressed, it's really easy to use and gav me great ribbons. Today i got some more veg in and i've managed to spiralise a whole (huge) bowl full over carrots, parsnips, courgette, aubergine (this went a bit soggy) and more onions. All in all i am actually really impressed, more so than i thought i would be. Takes out all of the hassle of the manual ones. I will be eating a lot healthier from now on :-)

The product is compact and discreet on my worktop. It is easy to clean and easy to use. So far I have enjoyed courgetti for a number of meal variations, spiralized carrots to put through a salad and spiralized apple. The apple was less successful put I have not been put off trying again. There is a lot of potential meals that have been made that much easier by the Spiralizer. Like all kitchen gadgets I have to be prepared to get creative to get the most out of it but I think it will be a permanent feature on my worktop for the foreseeable future. It does make some noise when in use but is considerably quieter than my current food processor, plus is easier to clean and store.

I have one of these I bought from Dunelm and I love it. Easy to use you just need to make sure you use quite firm veg and anchor the top bit in well otherwise it comes loose and you have to take it off and cut another point in your veg to stick it into. Would love more blades for it but it's my third favourite kitchen gadget, behind my ninja blender/kitchen mate and ninja coffee bar. Looks great too as it matches my other black and stainless stuff.I bought it when it first came out at full price and for it to now be £25 it's definitely worth getting if you like the idea of healthy eating and want to increase the versatility of your vegetable dishes.

I'm not sure why this product has so many negative reviews, as others have said if you read the instructions and lock the top lid in place it works perfectly. Great if like me you have hand pain and cannot operate a manual spiralizer. If you're having trouble with it not cutting correctly - add a bit more pressure as you push the vegetables in, and make sure you properly wedge the black plunger bit into the veg for the best results.Think I'll probably put the larger blade away through and just use the smaller one only. There is a bit of waste from the very top of the veg, but with practice I've shrunk this down to the smallest it can be.

Quite impressed so far as an advised necessity for my low carb diet. The machine runs quite quietly and produces perfect courgetti although I was advised to buy very straight vegetables and chill them before spiralising. Cleaning has to be done by hand as the parts are not dishwasher friendly and you have to ensure correct engagement of the collar or it wont power but once you get that sorted it works fine. Another good feature is the way it packs within itself when not in use reducing the size for storage. Not tried it out on any other veg but so far I'm quite happy with this purchase.

5.10.2019

Liked how it looked and the fact it has cord storage which can be a bit fiddly but brilliant thought. Was expecting a speedy gonzali job but nope however the job was done leaving some carrot that couldnt be spiralised. You cant always go by others reviews but have to see for yourself, i say this as 1 may find something more difficult to use than another person. Do use a brush for washing difficult bits that dont wash away so easy.Electric much easier than the manual ones and you can get cheaper manual ones that come with more tools. Overall its neatand does the job and recommendable.

5.9.2017

Much quicker than my manual gadget, so great on small straight courgettes, and butternut squash wedges and carrots, but like all of them it has its limitations.I was hoping an attachment for my Kenwood would come on the market and cannot believe it is beyond some designer,s ability to come up with something that can cope with fatter, shorter or softer root veg,but in the meantime if you use a lot of spiralised veg this is probably as good as you will find. I have an allotment, so have daily courgettes at the moment so can justify the purchase. I grate the leftover ends for soup
