I don't like cooking so anything that makes it less hassle is a bonus as far as I'm concerned. Until now I had opted for frozen garlic to save messing around with peeling and chopping cloves and scrubbing my hands raw afterwards to get rid of the smell. I was sick of a whole drawer of my freezer smelling of garlic and polluting everything around it so thought I'd try a crusher and see how I got on. I'm one of those people that has knives wrestled from them in the kitchen because I'm so cack handed people think I'm going to injure myself. I have grated my fingers on cheese graters and sliced my hand on a mandoline slicer. I had visions of crushing my fingers and having yet another kitchen implement I couldn't use...Not so! The quality of this product, even before it is out of the box, is obvious. It feels really durable and gave me the confidence to try it without fear of it wobbling and trapping my skin. It was so easy to use! I didn't have to peel or touch the garlic and the crusher is easy to clean afterwards (I dislike washing up as much as I hate cooking). I think fresh garlic even tastes better than frozen! I am a convert. As far as I'm concerned this would be a great asset any reluctant cook or keen chef. Now, if someone could please invent a tool to chop an onion that is as easy to use and easy to clean I'll be purchasing that next!

I love this. It’s made such a difference to my cooking. It brings out the flavour of the garlic so well! It’s really easy to use, although I’d recommend peeling the garlic first before crushing it.I tried it without peeling it, and some of the skin went into my food. That may not bother you, but I’d prefer not to eat it.Sometimes you have to readjust the crushed garlic to get the most out of the clove, as not all of it will be crushed through into your dish (it’s really only the “skin” that’s left); and sometimes a small part of the garlic goes around the side of the press, but you just open it and pop it back into the crushing part. It’s really not a big deal. I’m being pedantic. The press works great, you can crush more than one clove at once, and I’ll never cut garlic with a knife again.Plus, I’ve got joint problems and find it easy and comfortable to use. Ergonomics are spot on.Love it.

I bought this when my aged, much beloved, garlic press began to stain everything black. I took some time looking for a press to replace it. I chose this one because it's stainless steel (no staining) and it was quite large enough to take most garlic cloves. I hate it if you have to cut the cloves up before you pres them.It is good. My only argument with it is that its holes are so fine that it needs quite a bit of pressure to force the garlic through, but I have small hands. The result are good, getting the best flavour out of the garlic.Again, because the holes are small, cleaning takes a bit of effort - the dish washer won't manage on its own. I use a stiff brush.I don't love it as much my old press, but it is growing on me.

The garlic press came in a simple box which immediately gave the impression of a quality product. Once the press was outside its box, the impression was qualified by the weight of it, providing that it was indeed well made. It is quite a large bin for the garlic clove(s) to be inserted and it does the job efficiently and easily. No chance of pinching the fingers or any other part of your hand (no idea how another reviewer managed to do that!), and it is also easy to clean, either by hand or in the dishwasher. Not much else to say really - well made, does what it is meant to, and nicely packaged. Also good to buy from a small supplier providing a more personal experience.

So I must be honest, I bought this thinking it was actually part of the Jamie Oliver range of cooking products, but I was actually mistaken when the product arrived and what a pleasant mistake it was! This has the be the best garlic crusher I've ever used! No parts to get lost, sturdy, can crush garlic with or without the skin on and it works great! Even my house mate who preferred bought crushed garlic is convinced! I read a negative review of where someone crushed their fingers between the handles when crushing the garlic...I solved this problem by thinking out of the box and just not having my fingers between the handles when crushing garlic. Problem solved?

At last, a garlic press that is up to the job. Over the last few years I have tried a number of garlic presses and they have all bent or broken and proved useless. So I was very pleased to receive this press, which really does seem up to the job. On first use there was no sign of bending or movement of any type - so first impression was good. Another wonder was how easy it was to wash out after use, no more struggling with a knife to prize out the odd bit of garlic. Haven’t tried in the dishwasher yet, but may be possible. I must also say that it looks good with brightly finished stainless steel.

Quality all metal press. Cast construction, nicely finished with a polished finish. It appears to have a solid stainless steel hinge pin. So should not break! I have managed to break several garlic presses in the past. The last metal one just snapped. The others the hinge pin failed as they where hollow pins.Nice small size. Performs well. Easy enough to clean. It could be possible to nip your skin, If you move your hand up the handle towards the business end as the handles do overlap slightly towards the press end, but I would class that as operator error! Otherwise pretty perfect.

We cook from scratch a lot and have previously had cheaper, poor quality garlic presses which have broken on us at critical moments. My parents bought this garlic press and recommended it to us. We love it. It’s very easy to clean because the actual press area is quite large. I always peel my garlic (force of habit) but this press is strong enough that you could just chuck it in. It feels very sturdy and it’s good quality. My only criticism is that sometimes when closing it I get the skin of my finger stuck - but I think that’s more user error!!

This was a replacement for my old press that I accidentally, luckily , dropped, and broke its handle. The press arrived the next day, and the moment I held it in my hand I could see how solid and sturdy it was. Then the moment of truth came when I pressed three cloves in one go...wait for it...amazing. Never managed to get this much pressed garlic from my old press. A tiny bit of of skin was left to clean afterwards.I'll surely check Oliver's Kitchen other products for any replacements in the future!

This garlic press is easy to use and easy to clean, as long as you give it a quick wipe and rinse not long after you've used it (by necessity it has small holes in it for the garlic to come through, and if you were to leave that to 'dry out' I suspect it would be far less easy to get properly clean afterwards). But in general it has very few edges so it's nice and easy to clean and it feels very robust. I use it for several cloves at once with ease, and I'm far from being built like a tank!

I thought my old garlic press was working fine, and that the garlic that I'd bought lately had just been waxy, but it was getting harder and harder to get anything out of. I ordered this one and was amazed on first use when the same garlic nearly burst with light pressure. This is a brilliantly efficient garlic press, and I'm a bit surprised to find myself writing a review raving about a garlic press. But there we have it. The customer service has been great too - nice follow up.

5.8.2020

This is a good quality, sturdy, good looking garlic press. You can fit multiple cloves of garlic, or a decent chunk of ginger in it, with very little waste. Obviously the more you put in, the more pressure you need, and if you don't peel the garlic first the same thing applies. It feels nice in the hand and, although there is a small amount of residue left inside, it is minimal and to be expected. It rinses well, and can be washed in the dishwasher. So far, very impressed.

Not having to peel is great - no garlic flavoured fingers. The mechanism that matches spikes into holes is extremely efficient, and the fact it works is evidence that the product is well-engineered. And the way the skin and bits lift out when you open it up means it is really easy to dump them out and wash it up. Really impressed - immediately ditched its predecessor as just a runner-up in comparison, even though it has worked fine for years. This is in a different class.

I needed a press that can handle ginger without snapping in two. Slicing the ginger and placing one or two slices into the press at a time gives me the best results for releasing the juice, then using a small knife to scrape off the minced ginger pieces. The design finish is very shiny and smooth so your hands need to be quite dry to get a good grip. The press comes packaged in a lovely box so would make a nice gift. I've had my press for four months, and so far so good.

This is a very nicely designed, practical, easy to clean and use press. I use it when cooking with garlic and ginger - no need to peel just pop in and press. The juice comes out first followed by the pulp, which you can simply scrape away if you with to use it. Very easy to keep clean. Looks very attractive too with a polished finish. You can tell by the construction that this is a well designed and sturdy press which should give many years of good service.
