First of all, thanks Amazon for sending item within three days by ordinary post. Second, I was concerned initially that the knife edge being across the slide would not be sharp enough as other reviewers suggested comparing it to the V-shape mandolines. Indeed, it was somewhat blunt. However, having easily undone the nut on the knife I separated it from mandoline and sharpened it with the file to my liking. No problems with slicing tomatoes or other soft fruits after that. It is really sharp. Now, can give 5 out of 5 for the product.

Sharp blade would be a threat -have your first sherry after using this.Will slice thin enough to make crisps- which surprises and delights the kids. Or turn the knob a few times and make Dauphinoise. Does the same for carrots . Makes slim french-fries by slipping another blade into a slot.While frame is plastic, all the active parts are steel and should last a long time.

Was a little dissapointed with the very small profile on the crinkle cutter and almost the same slicer is available much cheaper elsewhere online, but needed fast delivery so swings and roundabouts.Bill G.

This mandolin is the best I have had, assembly was easy and quick. Using it a doddle, with the different attachments its easy to prep veg and achieve perfect results, a real bonus is how easy it is to clean.

This is a great mandoline slicer with a much safer grip on the veg and stability on the slide while slicing. Have had one for a number of years with great success and bought this as a Christmas gift.

Made super thin chips really easily, but took ages to work out how the thing worked. That could just be me though, and we've since used it loads of time!

Being a chef I have used better quality mandolins that are easier and smoother to use however for the price you can't go wrong.I would recommend it.

Seems to be well manufactured and does the job well. Managed to dice and slice every vegetable I had without a visit to casualty.

Very happy with the purchase. Does the job, good value for money and good delivery. Wish I'd bought one of these a long time ago!

EXCELLENT, IT WAS EXACTLY AS IT WAS ADVERTISED. FULLY RECOMMENDED. ITS VERY GOOD FOR FOOD PREPERATION IN THE KITCHEN :)

bought this as a gift for a friend who absolutely loves it! just be careful, make sure you always use the guard!!
