This is a brilliant gadget that saves a heck of a lot of repetitive knife work, and produces superb results - and it doesn't break the bank, either.Someone else commented that they did not get along with this device for julienning carrots. Well, I've been using one for carrots for over 10 years - yes, raw carrots. Obviously, these are the hardest vegetables you would ever want to push through, and softer veg are much easier, but carrots *will* go through. You will need to quarter the carrots first, so they fit into the aperture; then use the right angle of the quarter in the corner of the aperture, and apply force - quite a lot of force, yes, but not herculean amounts (I'm no Sly Stallone).I came here to buy a new one, although the existing one is still going strong - it is sometimes handy to have two people processing carrots at the same time (e.g. Christmas). One tip - lightly dust the carrots with dill, then steam them for about 10 minutes, toss them in butter and serve. Delicious!

At a late time in life I have embarked on a healthier style of eating and searched for a Julienne cutter to provide thin strips of fresh vegetables to eat semi raw. I read the reviews about this item and was initially put off by the one complaining the vegetables were hard to pull through and left bits behind which were difficult to remove. Fortunately I ignored this review and went ahead and bought one. Providing you make sure the item is not too fat to go into the opening the processing could not be easier. Push the item through until there is enough to grab hold of and then firmly grasp the cut bits and pull the uncut part through. If by chance a bit gets stuck then push another root vegetable through an it will clear the path.Have a look on 'you tube' for a demonstration of how to use it - which is what I did. It is a brilliant bit of kit I shall never be without.

I use this on carrots, courgettes and cucumbers when I want thin ribbons or to fake up some courgetti. It works fine, especially on the courgettes and cucumbers which are softer than the carrots. There si some wastage with the carrots as expected as you need a nub to hold on to whilst using the cutter. I usually use the more expensive Oxo good grips cutter but this cheaper Kitchen craft one worked just as well. It doesn't have a cutter guard to put on after use but I rarely use the Oxo good grips guard anyway. Only time will tell if it has the longevity of the Oxo one which I've had for 3 years now.I like the orange handle as it is distinctive and makes it easy to find in my messy utensils drawer.

If you are fan of modern cooks like Ottlolenghi or Anna Jones you will know how lemon zest is an essential ingredient of many recipes, and for lemon zest you really need a lemon zester. This is a fairly standard zester. The cutters which look like a row of small holes do an excellent job of zesting, and the triangular cutter is the canelle blade that enables you to produce thin strips of rind (rather better on this zester than others I have used). All in all, a regular and efficient device made slightly different by the yellow plastic handle. Nothing wrong with this at all, but 4 rather 5 stars as there are slightly cheaper devices (without the yellow handle) that do the job just as well.

As simple to use as a potato peeler, produces better results than grating. This is a very simple idea that enables you to “fancy up” salads and other meals quickly and easily without mountains of washing up.It has a good grip handle that sits comfortably in the hand, a super sharp blade that cuts the veg easily and produces fine, yet big enough to taste rather than just feel in your mouth strips.Washing up is easy, but i would recommend using a brush to get inbetween the blades sharp spikes to ensure you dont hurt your fingers. It is small enough to sit in a drawer without causing it to jam and is sturdy enough to last for years.

This tool is basically a screen of very sharp blades. You push whatever you want to julienne through one end and it comes out on the other end.I use this tool primarily on salad green/scallion/green onion. It saves a lot of time. It works well on the "crunchy" part of the salad green/scallion/green onion. If any of the green bits are even slightly wilted, then it doesn't work so well with the tool. Maybe it would be OK if it is pushed through the blades with more force, but as the blades are rather sharp, I would prefer not to take my chances.

Bought in case my thirty year old plastic zester ever breaks!!! Used for zesting oranges and lemons and found it easy to use. Will come in handy for cocktail evenings over Christmas as it peels a strip off as long as you like too. Might sound obvious but given some of the reviews the zester is designed to zest on one side of the tool only. Made of a nice material that doesn’t slip when used.

Just like the Krisk bean slicer, this is an absolutely fabulous kitchen item. It is easy to use, small to store and washes in an instant. Not complicated, nor needing assembly, just use in a flash to creat wonderfully fine juliennes. One to get and share the experience with others

This has a very good grippy handle which gives very good control over the cutter blade.I have been using this on courgette and cucumber as they are firm but soft and it has given very good results on both of these.Excellent for the price.

I use a julienne peeler frequently for making courgetti and for crating vegetable ribbons. I have the Oxo one which is better than this one and feels better in the hand. However, for the price this is a perfectly decent julienne peeler.

Delighted with this little cutter, it does exactly what it is intended to do very efficiently. However, fruit and veg do need to be fairly firm to make using it really easy and cleaning it can be difficult if you value your fingers!

This peeler helps you produce thin Julienne slices effortlessly. The serrated edge does all the work itself as you run it down your vegetables, producing fine spaghetti like strips of vegetables. A convenient tool that saves time.

this is a neat gadget, not large or clumsy which produces fine zest or wider strips from lemons and oranges. It is a key tool in the kitchen for all sorts of use. Good and sturdy construction, easy and comfortable to hold.

Nice item and worked well when carrots were very fresh, but if sightly older, could not get carrot through as it bent and could not be pushed through easily (even when bashed on worktop!!)

Never used one of these before as I have only ever used a normal greater. I have found this to be very useful & would recommend to anyone, much better than using a normal greater.
