QUICK REVIEW: Happy with my purchase. They are considerably faster than advertised at both read and write. Duo function is handy and works well. Very cheap price for a good quality product and only complaint is no cover / protection for main USB port so they lose a star for this.DETAILED REVIEW: I purchased three of these drives as I work in IT and they are handy for storing OS & BIOS installs. The "Duo" function being USB 3.0 and Micro USB is a handy extra for file storage and transfer for my phone and tablet. I purchased the 16 GB models as I doubt I would have a use for higher capacity given that I have a handful of USB 3.0 external hard drives if I need bigger file storage.Given the price I paid (£6.29)each I wasn't expecting anything special in terms of data read and write rates and the manufacturer states that for the 16 GB model Read is up to 70 MBs and Write is 10 MB/s which are certainly not the fastest. I think Kingston has definitely under sold themselves on this product as I was able to get average Read speeds of 104 MB/s and Write speed of 42 MB/s the write speeds I am getting are three times what was advertised by the manufacturer. Please see attached screenshot of speed test. I used a old 2011 Gigabyte motherboard based machine running Windows 7 64bit.I haven't tested the speed of transfer for the micro USB end but I have tested it on both my phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) and tablet (Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0) and is seen / mounted and works with no issues on either the phone or the tablet. You get a little thread / string loop which I guess is for using as a keyring although I wouldn't advise attaching this to keys given there is no protective cap / cover for the "big" usb part and only for the micro part and even then the locking action of the micro usb isn't particularly secure and could easily end up damaged over time if attached to keys.PROS- Cheap- Considerably faster for both read and write speeds- Handy Duo function (for use with computers and mobile devices)CONS- Very little thought given to protection of either ends of the unit as a result could easily end up damaged

The Kingston Technology 16GB USB 3.0 Micro Duo Flash Drive for me is a great little asset to my own phone and other compatible devices. I have the Moto G 16GB Sim Free Smartphone - Black and though an excellent phone I am unable to add extra storage and like many smart phone owners my phone is full of photos, apps, music etc. which certainly eat up much of my storage. I wanted something I could easily store the necessary files but yet I could easily have it with me at all times. This little drive is certainly everything I wanted as it is convenient as it is so small I can easily keep it safe in a purse but yet it holds 16GB without any hassle. For me it was a matter of inserting the drive where the charger lead goes therefore I would recommend you charge your phone before doing this. I went to settings and it immediately recognised the storage unit therefore I was able to add more storage unto my phone to either free up space on my limited phone or even for those apps which need extra storage to work to their full potential. I am able to transfer my files easily without hassle and without any complications. With its rotating cover it can be protected which makes everything about this drive purely simple. I like everything about this little drive from the price to the convenience and add in the fact that Kingston provides their drive with a five year guarantee this really is ideal for today's modern world where everyone's life is held together through their smart phones.Though the drive states it is 16GB storage on my phone it stated I had an extra 14.64GB using this drive.

Bought this to take on holiday the day after it arrived.I love the way it so easily transforms from a USB-A device into Micro USB-B to use in my phone/tablet/laptop, with the flip over cap protecting the port not in use.I travel abroad often, so this was perfect to store a few movies and extra music for the flights, because let be honest, those airline TV Monitors and the headphones that come with them are just absolutely terrible. ;)Speeds whilst in a USB 3.0 port are not as great as standard pen drives but good enough for its purpose of not needing many of those unreliable OTG Cables I have gone through with loose connections.Transfer speed in my phone/tablet were obviously much better than when using faster 3.0 pen drives with OTG cables,so very happy indeed.Works in USB 2.0 ports too, as the standard of your phone/tablet would most likely be.I initially would have rated it at 4* for the slower than expected transfer speed, but for the convenience, capability and quality of what it's built for, 5*'s it is!Screenshot included is a benchmark taken via my laptop (hp dv7 6b51ea) with a USB 3.0 port.Would very much recommend this option if you use OTG cables often, it really removes the hassle of a pen drive dangling from your portable device and with the worry of it falling off/getting lost/losing connection e.t.c.Buying another now, as my little sister uses it often whilst travelling when i want to!

EDIT.... Make sure to tear open the instructions as hidden within is the lanyard that I complained was not included. This is a really small neat little memory stick that performs a dual function. Pull and bend it and it reveals the micro USB connector. On the other side os the standard USB slot. This isn't a cheap USB connector either, it has the proper metal cover to keep it protected from your keys or any knocks. The micro USB is protected by the plastic shell. Performance wise, it works really well and swiftly enough for me not to worry about exactly how fast it is. Minor gripe, it doesn't come with a lanyard or anything so you can't easily attach it to a keyring without an extra purchase. The hole isn't tiny, but it does limit what you can hook it onto without such a lanyard.Again, this really helps out if you have upgraded to a phone that no longer has removeable storage and it is small enough to keep with you at all times without any fuss. There are alternatives out there, memory card readers/writers that pretty much perform the same function but at a fraction of the price, so if you already have the memory card you can just buy one of those and save yourself a little money. This is obviously has a much faster read/write access time and at sizes like this if you have a lot of data to copy then this is the device to go for.

Kingston Technology 16GB USB 3.0 Micro Duo Flash DriveThis is a 16Gb Flash drive that works as a standard USB flash or you can connect it to a mobile device to download pictures of files.Set up.---------There is basically nothing to do, just plug it in and the phone sees it as storage. Use the phone file manager to move data on and off it, it’s that simple. It also works with my Google Nexus in much the same way.Quality.----------It is well made and has a neat folding design that allows you to connect using a full sized USB or mini phone sized adapter, it’s all built in and no cables needed. In use.---------Using my Nokia Lumina it quickly copied my picture and data files, giving me a backup and the possibility of freeing up phone memory. It is so simple to use due to its clever design. It’s very small and there is a lug on it so that you can attach it to a lanyard or key ring. I would recommend this as the device is tiny and would be easy to lose.Overall.----------A neat multi-function device to back up data from an Android smartphone or tablet. I says Android on the box and I think they do a iOS version as well. IT comes in 16, 32 and 64 GB versiuons A great inexpensive little device.

Brilliant bit of kit! I ripped a whole load of my DVD collection and keep about 60 titles on my 'Micro Duo' and a further 40 on my Galaxy S5. I could probably get a further 40 to 60 titles on the 'Duo', but need to do some more ripping first. Have now been using it for a couple of weeks.Hidden away in the 'blister pack' packaging was a key ring attachment (easily missed if you rip the packet open and bin it straight away) - useful as the device is quite tiny and probably easy to lose or misplace.Make sure your phone or device supports 'On The Go' or 'OTG' functionality before buying. e.g. the Samsung Galaxy S5 does, but the Galaxy S5 Mini doesn't.Could do with a cover for the big USB3 end to stop pocket fluff getting in.The other, mini end is covered by the black plastic bit that folds down and then slides inwards onto the contacts. The main silver part appears to be made from metal.Worked straight out of the packet with the phone and Windows 7 easily identified it and installed a driver in seconds, so works with the PC easily as well.

This is an excellent little USB stick which was purchased to be my every day USB stick for use with my phone and PC.It's surprisingly small in size, so it's perfect for OTG without worries of breaking the stick when it's plugged into your phone.I've attached a couple of images comparing the size of this thing to my other USB stick, a Sandisk Cruzer Facet 16GB which is the size throughout it's length of the USB plug.Moving forward I really hope this thing lasts as it feels a little on the breakable size when it comes to removing it from a standard USB socket (theres very little to grip). And remember, don't miss the little attachment for your key ring which is hidden within the paper inlay, could be easily missed if you are the kind that opens and uses without reading any information (like me).Overall a great little stick which I'm very happy with, and if anything changes I will of course update the review in due course.

Pros:+ Compact+ Plenty of storage+ USB3.0 so pretty fast (some have reported less than best speeds, but I have had no problems in real-life use)+ Can make bootableCons:- No cover for the standard USB end so can get full of fluff in a pocket.- Cannot unset the 'removable bit' so you cannot create multiple partitions that Windows can see (Linux will allow you to create and see multiple partitions).Mobile Device Compatability:You need to check if your device is OTG (On-the-Go) capable. Some devices with Android 4+ are not (for example the original Nexus 7 isn't). However, most more modern Android devices do (I've tested on an HTC One M7 and have no problems accessing this drive with ES File Explorer (Free). On the USB side, this will work with any PC with a USB port - to get the best speeds you will need a USB3.0 port (they're usually blue).

Brilliant product and works great with both computers and my Galaxy S4 / Moto G phones for transferring/storing files from either device type. To be honest I'd have preferred if the full USB side came with some sort of plastic sheath (I've since added one I had in a drawer and I think these can be purchased in multipacks) as it's overly exposed. In a bag this wouldn't be such a problem, but when hanging on the attached lanyard thread from my EDC keyring I'm worried it will eventually get bent or overly dirty in the contacts, which could lead to corrupted data files eventually. The plastic flap covering the Micro-USB end is a little 'tinny'sounding when it inevitably collides with other keys on my keyring which could probably be rectified with some electrical tape or similar to dampen the sound I guess, although it might ruin the look a little.

A super little flash drive! 16GB.Upload films etc. to it from your laptop/PC and then attach it to your USB On-The-Go enabled smartphone to view them! Or vice versa. As a bonus, there is a wee lanyard with micro keyring included.I already have the Kingston 32GB Micro USB 2.0 DataTraveler Flash Drive and I can only fault that by saying that the cover vibrates during loud film passages when inserted into my Asus Fonepad. This USB3 one has a slightly different cover which doesn't rattle.Note that there is a 4Gb file size limit for devices using the FAT file system as this does (out of the packet).Despite plastic packaging which requires a blade to access, I still award this 5 stars. It really is a boon.I'd go for a bigger one though if you have sizeable files....[My Ref: USB3 Phone / PC flash drive. Double the fun! Aug 2014]

Pop it into your PC and it works like a memory stick, pop it into your phone - and it does just the same faultlessly.Previously I've had a £1 USB-on-the-go cables hanging out of various Android gadgets, with completely unsuitable memory sticks swinging off the cable (and usually managed to dislodge them just as I was settling down to watch a film on a flight). My only niggle is that stupid plastic thing. Metal part itself is reassuringly sturdy and small - but I have no idea what possessed them to add the plastic flip cover for the micro-USB, without adding anything for the main USB.I'd been tempted to simply rip it off, but that felt wasteful as I'd paid for it.Then it managed to spontaneously break itself whilst rattling around in my bag - but at least that made the decision easier.

Quite good for such a small form. I had to remove the black plastic as it was getting in the way when leaving it plugged in and carrying my tablet. One problem I had with it was that on my Nexus 10 if I push it in completely it disconnects. So I have to be very careful if I touch it it might disconnect. It might be because my nexus is old because I have no such issues on my s4, however my OTG cable, or my charging cable, have no such problems on my Nexus 10, only this.Speeds seem to be exactly as advertised for a 64Gb one on USB3, 15Mb Write, around 100Mb Read. Not as good as other USB3 sticks(The sandisk extreme which made me fall in love with USB3 speeds does 100Mb write and 200Mb Read but it's a much larger form factor)but more than decent for the price.

I think this is fine for the price. It is a small item but does have a small loop so you can attach a clip to it. It is very light weight. The download is fine for what it is and when completed the items which had been put onto it were able to be watched on the TV without any problem. This is the smallest of the flash drives they do and so you can get a larger capacity one. We have already used a third of the drive by putting 4 items onto it. My only concern is that you need to think what size is needed before you buy otherwise you will end up needing another one almost immediately. If you are not going to put huge files onto the drive then the 16 GB could be fine as a back up source.Price wiseit is not expensive.

Cannot fault this usb stick. Incredibly small, infact I was shocked how small it actually was. The price was amazing good £20 for a 64gb usb that could also be used on my phone. Amazing!!! Just amazing. Which brings me on to the fact it can be used on my phone, it is such a helpful feature. It can happily just sit in my wallet and is there for when I need to transfer stuff over.Only one downside is the end is a bit exposed, I took the cap off another usb to protect this one. As I put this one in my wallet I can't risk the end being exposed as it will get damaged. Other than that highly recommended.

It is very small and easy to use but it has some disadvantages. It has a small string that allows you to attach it to your key fob, but I attached it and in a few days the plastic broke internally and it did not stay closed anymore, then it is better not to attach it to your key fob. Another disadvantage is that the plastic cover is too wide and it does not allow to connect the micro usb to my phone unless I remove my phone case. My phone is a nexus 5 and my case is a Ringke Fusion.Other that the disadvantages mentioned the device works like a charm, very fast and easy to use.
