The video really says it all (go straight to 1.26 if you just want to see the steam cleaner in action), but here's a few additional points:The device itself is rather small, but once all the attachments are added, it is a fair bit bigger, so have a cupboard/garage handy to store it away.The water reservoir is rather small and you have to refill it after about 4-5 minutes continuous use. Not a problem if you are in the house, but if you are outside, take a bucket of water with you!For my first test (as videoed), I did not clean the cooker top for a month as a trial for the Karcher.The attachment I used (small detail brush) got clogged up with grease after a few minutes,and I had to clean that off with washing up liquid. Shows that the thing was shifting some serious grease, but if you don't clean grease build up off the brush, you end up just spreading the grease about!Although there was a month's worth of burnt in food/dirt that was cleaned off very quickly, there was also some long term grease under the gas burners that has never been cleaned (and been there for over 10 years - since we got the house). The steam cleaner loosened some of this off, but by no means all. I guess it will take a few more cleans before it comes off. Worth noting that I used absolutely no detergent or pre-soak, so it was all water from the steam cleaner.There was some long term grease in the cooker knobs that we could never have got off with a cloth because it is right in a corner, but the steam cleaner excels at this sort of thing, and blew it off straight away, as seen in the video.The steam played havoc with my camera, so I could not film all I would have liked (the lens kept getting fogged up with the steam!).The steam comes out at a maximum of 3 bar, which is quite fast (about as fast as a fire extinguisher with the smallest attachment that I use in the video). So this is NOT something you want to be accessible to small children... I'd be tempted to store it in the garage to prevent inquisitive fingers. I didn't think to use gloves on my first attempt, but if you need to hold things whilst cleaning them, get a pair of vileda gloves.The steamer is easy to set up and put away. Only thing is that because the steam is under pressure, I fired the nozzle with the unit powered off to make sure all the pressure was gone before I packed it up. This took 2 minutes. Not bad, but bear in mind the entire wash itself took 5 minutes. I think you can do the same simply by unscrewing a lid on the heater unit, but I intentionally only read the quick instructions for the demo (as that's as far as most people read!), so didn't know.The end result really was after 5 minutes, and my first attempt. Quite pleased, although the downside was the fact that the 10 year old grease was not totally shifted... I'll add something later once it has all come off to say how many cleans it took.And, yes, my better half is less than happy I have filmed her cooker in such a state for all to see on Amazon, and would like to point out that most of it is me making curries as I was left alone for a few weekends. She says I'm going on the couch for it if it doesn't do the curtains.Bah, that's the Saturday lie-in gone!

Perfect for steam cleaning shower and glass doors but these will need to be reasonable clean initially, it's so easy to give shower cubicle a quick blast on a regular basis to keep it gleaming. One word of warning; be careful near silicones edges if the pressure is to high using the small nozzle it could remove or loosen it as I found out. Worked a treat on tiled bathroom walls & on floor tiles. Going round all the nooks and crannies on toilet, pipes etc was a dawdle and the steam really blasts out any hidden dirt and dust. I agree with other reviews about the cost of replacement pads being too expensive; I made new pads from old towels, much more economical.

A fabulous appliance that makes cleaning a joy (if that's possible!). Arrived ahead of scheduled delivery - hassle free.Steam cleaner has been used to clean bathrooms, kitchen, windows and floors. The microfibre floor cloth does come loose as mentioned in other reviews, however this only occurs when the arm is at 90 degrees to the floor attachment, triggering a 'release' mechanism. It has helped to lift the limescale from water damaged outdoor terracotta tiles, although as with all 'difficult to remove stains' it requires effort. As suggested in the instructions, we poured distilled vinegar over the tiles first and then steam cleaned using one of the brush accessories.

I have been using a Karcher steam cleaner sc112 for awhile... at least 7 years and it would not give up. But I didn't like it anymore. I hated unpacking the box, getting the machine set and waiting for long time until it was ready for action. So I wasn't using it for casual cleaning, only when I decided to go for it. And then it would run out of steam in half of the job.So I researched the new products and decided to give this one a try. And I love it!. It's ready for action within few minutes, the new floor tool is easy and efficient to use and filling and refilling the tank is straight forward, without the need for a break and cooling down. Easy to set up and great all round neat little package.Great storage for all the attachments on the machine itself.Had a vax upright steam mop before that was heavy, bulky and would only steam for around 10 to 15 seconds at a time. This karcher is in a whole other league.Its very powerful with non stop steam. Light flashes to show heating of water every couple of minutes but that doesn't stop the machine going. It just continually throws the steam out!Can be filled whilst still running to enable even larger areas to be cleaned in one go.Yes it does leave the floor slightly wet, but nothing that doesn't dry up within a short time and not as wet as a mopped floor.Only slight con with the machine is the costs of the replacement mop heads.

I've not used Kärcher products before although other members of my family have, so I was up for trying this one out and seeing how good it was. The body of the cleaner doesn't look that robust and it makes a slightly alarming sound as it heats up, so it'll be interesting to see how it holds up over the coming months but it's done good service so far. The tools are easy to change over and fit and my floors, tiles, kitchen counters and hob are the cleanest they've been for some time.Easy to assemble, easy to fill and watch the water level, lightweight enough to move around the house and it gives a terrific steam clean. This is a really handy cleaner to have in the house and it gives a really deep clean - while giving you a facial at the same time!

I am fairly pleased so far with the steam cleaner but have only used it once so far so cannot comment on reliability. It took a while to heat up. Was easy to fill with water. Only comes with one cloth for the floor which I dont think is enough really. It cleaned the floor well and didn't leave it too wet. I cleaned my windows which it did ok but you would need to go over with a cloth to prevent streakes. I cleaned my toilet which is a lot easier that using a cloth. It cleaned my oven well too. It did not remove all the limescale from my kitchen tap but I did not use the wire brush so might try that next time for better results.

Bought this after having borrowed a simple TV shop model and been impressed by the usefulness of steam cleaning.Perfect choice for me in the Kärcher product range. Most useful for kitchen and bathroom cleaning with the jet nozzle or smallest (coin-sized) brush if the surface is de-greased with dishwash detergent such as Fairy. You can effectively cleanse areas which no sponge can reach.No effect at all on lime scale, even with vinegar mixed into the water.Floor mopping head and long pipe works partly. but. Not impressed by the machine's tendency to spit out water rather than steam. It takes you back to traditional hand mopping to dry up all the water. But warm,

I've just bought the Karcher SC4, after using an up-right unit for the last two years. What a treat to use a unit where you're only pushing the hose and handle around, not the whole unit. The warm up time approximately 1 minute. 2 steam 'power' settings available via switch at handle. Cleans grout between tiles very easily. For really tough stains the optional brass bristles are a good buy. I used the SC4 on my kitchen's travertine floor tiles. They hadn't been sealed for years and with a little light scrubbing, it made a huge difference. The unit is light enough even when full, that I doubt anyone would worry about carrying it up stairs. I bought the SC4 from Karcher last June. It is fantastic when new but we live in a hard water area and it quickly 'silts' up in spite of descaling regularly. However mine stopped working last week, a red light appeared and there was a strong acrid smell coming from the machine. As the machine was still under warranty Karcher collected it for repair/replacement. I have heard that a replacement is being sent to me on Friday. I emailed to ask what the problem was but so far I haven't heard back from them.I can recommend their customer service when your machine is still under warranty, they collected it the next day no charge. I will be interesting to find out what the problem was!

Hi, I've just bought a karcher SC4 and i have to say I'm delighed with it, i have a very large house and its tiled through out, i was very wary of buying it having had two small steamer which were not up to the job. I only have two small grudges with it firstly the electoral cord is far to small and i have to swoop plugs all the time and the secondly is that when you've spent £179-00 you only receive one cleaning pad which is a bit stingy on karchers part. its incredibly light to manoeuvre. It shows how good it is as this is the first time i have made the time to write this review.Emy

I've used this a few times now and I think it's pretty good. We have rental villas and I've used it to clean the sunbeds - took a while but the end result was great considering that I didn't use any chemicals. It did a good job on our shower tiles and floor tiles and I think that when I've done the grout a few times it will come up like new.Not so impressed with the windows - a lot of water seemed to come out and they were left very streaky (possibly not doing it right?) - The window attachment is quite cumbersome.

Amazing product! The old Kärcher Steam cleaner gave up the ghost, so after reading countless reviews, I knew had to upgrade to a better model while it was still affordable. We have a tight budget but with a disabled household, it's an essential product for the household. It works wonders! Packing some serious high pressure steam, it is perfect for getting things sanitised, fast. It pays for itself times ten. We've saved hours of valuable time that can now be spent doing more important things. Well done Kärcher!

Well what can I say? How did we live without a steam cleaner. Just moved house and its absolutely brilliant. Have cleaned the bathroom tiles, round sink and toilet. Kitchen including the oven which had come up like new. All the windows and inside the frames it blown away all the old dead bugs and grime. Has even cleaned up our mossy bricks and concrete path. Purchased this model so we can just top the water up whilst using and I would highly recommend this as a must have investment :)

It took a week for delivery and I'm delighted with it! Easy to operate and a lot better than other brands I've had before. Within a week of using it, the steam wasn't as powerful but by pressing the 1 and 0 button down together seemed to reset it so I'm happy again. It's very portable and great for Windows and glass too. I love the fact that you don't need detergent but I think Karcher should provide more than the one microfiber cloth! Overall an excellent product!
