Joseph Joseph kitchen products are usually well-thought through and this one is no exception. The set comprises of a rectangular plastic box (with rubber strips on the base to stop it slipping which is a nice touch), the prism shaped grater which fits over the box and a grey lid which means you can store what you've grated into the box. There are four different levels of coarseness depending on which side of the grater prism you use. The grater works very well without excessive effort on the part of the user. It's certainly sharp enough. My one slight issue is that some of the cheese I grated ended up on the table rather than in the box. To avoid wastage, you'd probably want to use a plate to catch the bits,
This was the first product I had from the Joseph Joseph brand, although I have seen some of their other products. I’m impressed with the thought and detail that has gone into the design of this grater as it deals with many of the things that I dislike with their traditional designs. For a start the whole thing stores very neatly away with no sharp edges showing so it’s safe, and a lot nicely to handle too. All of the parts fit neatly, and the handles are well-placed and good to use. I like the rubber feet underneath the box as it helps to keep it in place when grating, and I’ve been using the grater on a chopping board so that any cheese which isn’t captured in the box can easily be tipped into it.
A lovely piece of design and well made grater.When not in use the grater sits in the lidded storage box. Take the lid off and put the grater on top of the box. I grated some cheese and it collects in the box. I had a couple of stray slivers which went on to the chopping board but the overwhelming majority went into the box. The grater blades are very sharp - and made very light work of both cheddar and parmesan in separate tests. There's a lot I like about this grater; the blades are fantastically sharp and there's a good range of sizes and the design is great. I like the fact it's integrated into a storage box - really practical when it comes to Parmesan cheese. It's dishwasher safe - a plus for me.I have one niggle though, when you grate bits fall off the grater and not into the box which makes a mess and is wasteful. This can be solved by grating on a plate but it's a bit of a shame when everything else has been well conceived. Love the non slip feet too.A cute grater that grates well. I like it
I love Joseph Joseph gear, we have bought lots of different items and the quality is always top notch.This grater is a perfect example of lovely design and so practical.I've got one problem with it though, which is when you grate cheddar a fair amount doesn't fall into the box but lands on the work top. Easy enough to solve by grating on a cutting board or a plate and scooping the extra bits into the box at the end. Not the end of the world but disappointing.Everything else is excellent, sharp blades and the box keeps the cheese fresh in the fridge.Almost perfect.
Nothing to fault here, you get a good quality plastic container with a tight fitting lid and a four sided grater which fits securely into the box whether for grating or storage. The box has rubberised feet and the grater a rubberised handle so it stays put whilst you grate. Most of the grated food ends up neatly in the box and the tight-fitting lid means it can then be stored for later use.Very well-designed product.
