I used to believe that one rolling bin was much like the other. This one has changed my mind. Apart from being of the quality one would expect from Joseph Joseph, it's also quite versatile. I always had a problem judging the correct depth of whatever I was rolling. Not anymore. This one has detachable discs at either end. They're handily labeled in millimeters so you're guaranteed the correct depth every dime. Even the roller is marked by millimeters so you can roll out the correct width, and the markings have no impact on the pastry. It's like they're not there. Added to that, this roller is super easy to clean. I use it at least weekly (for over six months now). It's never let me down and looks like it's going to last a long time.

Great idea, and works well. Includes 2mm, 4mm, 6mm, and 10mm disks. Obviously you need to keep your pastry to a size that fits in between the disks - so if you need something wider than 33mm you can't use it with the disks on. I've never made pastry that big! It's helped me produced really really thin and consistent 2mm thick pastry (rolled out between two bits of floured cling film), which was lovely for mini mince pies. The 2mm thickness stopped the tiny treats being overwhelmed by pastry. Would be five stars if it included a 3mm (1/8th inch) disk, which is the more standard thickness for pastry for pies and tarts.

It's so easy to make sure your biscuits and pastry are exactly the thickness you need as well as sugarpaste and icing - it is really simple to adjust to the size you require and the sizes of the rings are clearly stamped into the coloured rings. However the packaging was laughable - the rolling pin is 18 inches in length but the packaging was in total 39 inches in length!!! I know that you want your product to be well protected but that was ridiculous! I think that someone in the warehouse (oh sorry, fulfilment centre!) was trying to compensate for a lack of length in other areas of their lives!!!!

I've been looking for a rolling pin with guide rings for ages but could only find ones meant for using with cake decorating/icing but this one is great for rolling out cookie dough or pastry with it's 1cm guide. I was amazed at the great £10! Price (Couldn't justify spending £20-£30 on a rolling pin) but miffed that despatch estimate was 2 to 3 weeks. However, once I decided it was worth the wait and clicked to buy it said delivery would be made on the next working day and it was! Now I just need to make sure none of my teenagers put it in the dishwasher!

Bought this to replace a similar rolling pin tht had seen better days. Like the way that this has been designed and in practice it is meant to aid the user to achieve the exact thickness required. As others have mentioned, it is crucial that the end pins were inserted exactly centre otherwise you end up with varying thickness. The pin itself is slightly rough but believe my original one was as well initially so hopefully this will wear down over time. Price wise a little expensive but then you pay this for brand, design & quality of materials.

Have not used it yet but see no reason why it would not work although a 10mm thick ring seems too much. Better to have 2mm,3mm,4mm,5mm. However i can see one potential issue. The pastry/pasta can only be as wide as the rolling pin which is obvious and acceptable but, is worth considering. For me, the coloured rings are gawdy and horrid. As i leave my many utensils out the bright colours look awful in my kitchen. Much better to have made them in more dull and muddy colours that just disappear to the naked eye than shout out at it.

Received this as a gift and it has been invaluable ever since.Thought it would be fairly useful but have been surprised about how versatile it is.It has been most useful for fondant icing - especially for those small icing decorations where a difference in thickness is very visible - people have been surprised that I made all the decorations on a cake as they looked so professional.Recommended (and even saw it make an appearance on biscuit week at The Great British Bake Off 2016!)

Brilliant rolling pin. Like all the Joseph products I’ve seen, it looks good but more importantly, it is perfectly designed to do its job. It made rolling out pastry for mince pies and shortbread a breeze and is a joy to use. I really can’t recommend it highly enough. These are usually more expensive so I was attracted by the price. It arrived well within the expected time and I just wish I had invested in one years ago. Happy to recommend the rolling pin and the vendor.

Rolls really nicely, the levels work really well. I had a few issues with smallest setting but the other work well only downside is if rolling icing to cover a bigger shape, you have to remove the rings or you will end up with tyre tracks. Unfortunately as I do a lot of bigger size pastry and icing this can be a downside. But for my pastry fetish partner he will just have to accept that perhaps he might not be covered completely perfectly.

Got round to using this earlier for biscuits. I originally thought the spacers were a great idea but also thought they were a hit of a gimmick. How wrong was I? It's a great piece of kit and I will only ever use this rolling pin in future. Although it's not advertised as none stick I've found that it much more none stick than the rolling pin I bought which said it was none stick. All in all an excellent product and well worth the cost

I am a big fan of Joseph Joseph and their products on a whole, and this rolling pin is another cracking addition to my kitchen. For a rolling pin I agree it is at the premium end of the price scale, but I feel it is worth it especially for rolling cake icing out to the same thickness and evenness. The pin itself is sturdy and well made and the plastic measures are made of good quality material.Love it!!

The coloured disks are sturdy and good quality. The marks on the pin itself are useful as a size guide, but I was disappointed that the wood that the main rolling pin is made out of is a bit rough. I would have expected it to be smoother and oiled. Excellent idea though, as without it I am hopeless at rolling an even-thickness dough.

Ordered this for my mum and she loves it. She makes loads of pastry and finds that the different sized wheels ensure that her pastry is always of even thickness. I didn't think you could improve on perfection where an apple pie is concerned but this rolling pin proves that you can. Not cheap but well worth the money.

Bought as a gift because I love my own so much. The little coloured bits twist off to allow you to choose the depth you want the pastry to roll out to! No more guessing and getting it too thick or thing.I love Joseph Joseph products in general and this is the same high quality as the others I own.

It's perfect for even pastry, marzipan, fondant icing and most other things too. I made all my cupcake decorations and the pastries for my pasties and they all look good with the exact thickness. What else can you say about a rolling pin apart from it was a good buy through Amazon.
