Looks smart and organised. Good build quality. The strain/drain device is straightforward, works well, and cleans easily by hand. Water drains out as fast as down the normal sink hole. Sometimes the last small amount of water fails to drain out and has to be pushed.I like that the Bowl has proper handles - it's easier to lift when the Bowl is full, instead of having to lift it by its rim as with some washing-up bowls. As the handles are raised, I can put a small dishcloth over a handle to dry, or hang a dishbrush.I love the Store compartment because the usage is versatile. I used to put a jug in the sink to house tall thin things waiting to be washed up, just flung them in as I cooked,to stop them being lost at the bottom of the bowl - bad as regards blades. Now, I use the Store section on this Bowl, and it gives the impression that I have an organised system! The Bowl looks and feels the same as the Joseph Joseph Wash & Drain washing-up bowl (and in fact the bowl size is the same), bought in September 2014, and I see no reason why this Bowl should not last as well. The Store section has three compartments - two small and one large. A minor niggle is that I'd've liked the Store compartment to be even more flexible by having small, medium and large.Over-priced at 35quid but "I just had to have it", top marks otherwise. For me, it's an 'essential luxury' :-)This would be good to take camping or anywhere you want to keep bowl and washing-up liquid, cloths/brushes etc. together (I find they tend to wander otherwise!).If interested, a rack of the Joseph Joseph Connect Adjustable 3-Piece Dishrack (ASIN B00LMCWAYO) fits neatly and exactly into this Bowl, for washing or rinsing things in the sink/Bowl.

Before I received this item I was doubtful I would have. My current one is from a local supermarket and I think it costed £5 or at least under a tenner. I have a kitchen full of Joseph Joseph products and even one in the bathroom so I knew before it arrived it would be of quality but how can a washing up bowl be worthy of this price?First off it’s made form a solid plastic that feels quality made. The side compartment for housing sponges and washing up liquids is more than adequate however I would have liked it to be slightly deeper to hold my brush as I don’t like it sticking out as much and there was room for this to be deeper. Those area also has holes at the bottom so that any liquid drips away into the sink. The handles either side make it perfect to pick up while empty or full meaning your hands won’t be in hot water. The plug drains out water at a fast pace and should you have any left over food you can take out the plug completely which means you shouldn’t have to ever remove the bowl. The bowl is quite high up there is a lot of space underneath and with the side compartment for sponges etc I was worried that there wont be enough room for a lot of dirty plates etc but you will find that this bowl fills your sink pretty much to each corner (as pictured) and its quite high so I can hold quite a lot of stuff to soak.My only negative is small and that is because it’s high up it’s easy to knock plates on the tap (can be solved with a rotating tap) apart from that I really do love this bowl. It has easily replaced my old one, it is expensive but it is far better than any other bowl I have used and has gained me space around the sink where I used to hold my sponge, brush and liquid.

This is a very solid and sturdy washing up bowl - it doesn't flex when you lift it when full of water. The carry handles are very useful, especially if like me you sometimes have to carry a bowl of hot soapy water round the house to clean up a cat "accident", and the integral caddy for brushes and washing up liquid et. al. are similarly useful on such occasions. When used for its main purpose of washing the dishes, you do lose a bit of washing up space because of that caddy of course, but that's a judgement call as to whether you want the trade-off of tidiness of stashing those items away in it rather than on the side of the sink against the total bowl volume. It is a little bit bigger than a standard cheap bowl, but still fits easily in my standard size sinks. The plug at the bottom is fully watertight when closed. A quarter turn anticlockwise to open and the water drains out quickly through the filtering plug, the bowl standing on some feet to allow free drain. The plug can be fully removed for cleaning and removing food particles.Whether the price is justified probably comes down to how long it lasts compared to one you get for a fiver or less down the cheap shop which will start to crack round the rim and become irrevocably grubby after a couple of years; you'd hope for well into double figures but given how robust it is there's no reason to believe that it won't.

This is a great quality product, well conceived and followed through by Joseph Joseph, which is usual for them. The plastic material it's made from is very strong, rigid and is either amalgamated to be water resistant or has a water resistant coating on, because when draining the bowl the water seems to be repelled away, leaving most of the surface of the bowl dry. It's also heat resistant, which I found out accidentally when I leaned a fresh out the oven heavy cast iron lid on it, with no damage or hint at melting at all.The plug strainer is also well made, where you have two slots on either side of the drain opening, so you put the strainer in and twist it 90 degrees to lock, with some tough rubber on bottom creating a good seal. I also love the fact that this is raised off of the base of the sink too, so dish water can flow freely underneath, where with my previous standard washing up bowl I was getting greasy build up over time on the base of the bowl. It should fit in the majority of sinks – new and old. Mine is an older metal sink with curved edges at the bottom, and this fits perfectly. There is enough space on the drain side for a standard Fairy bottle and a few sponges, which is great for me as it means my draining board is no longer clogged with them. Overall I think this is a brilliant product, on the expensive side, but worth it.

We don’t have a dishwasher. Well we do, but I’m it. We’re a family of five and all the washing up gets done by hand in a small kitchen sink. One major frustration is that I don’t have a side bowl, so I need to make sure I pour any liquids away before I fill the sink. This is one of the problems this Joseph Joseph wash&drain solves. The other is where to put your scrubbers and sponges when not in use - in the lovely big storage bay at the end of course. If I was being critical of the design, I think slightly too much space is given over to this storage bay. I would prefer this part to be slightly smaller so that there’s more room for actual washing up.Overall though it’s a pretty tight fit in our sink with relatively little wasted space. The internal plug is easily removed to let dish water drain out quickly, or it can be used to strain away any debris. It’s a very well made thing and the large storage handles make it easy to lift it out of the sink, even when there’s dish water in it. There is the odd occasion where I need the full sink space - usually when I'm washing up roasting trays or large casserole dishes - and I simply lift the whole thing out of the sink and set it on the side. Most of the time however the convenience that this product brings is worth the loss of sink space.

I’m always so happy with the quality of Joseph Joseph products and this one is no exception. The tub makes it so easy to drain without having to lift it while it’s full and also provides storage for sponges and dish soap with drainage in the bottom but this does come at the cost of space in the main tub for washing. I actually found it incredibly snug in our sink – it needed to be pushed down but that also means we need to remember to air it often or it could cause smells. The plug is easy enough to turn and can easily be removed and emptied into the bin to save any food getting down the main plug. It still holds a decent amount of water but I do find I have to keep larger items lifted to wash with the sponge and redip the sponge often rather than keeping it in the water. Is it worth the money? It is easy to clean which really helps and I don’t see it splitting or getting damaged easily so yes it could be a lot more durable than a cheap tub but unless you’re getting use out of the features then it becomes more of a want than a need. Overall though I love the features.

It seemed a lot to pay for a bowl, but I decided to go for it, and have no regrets.I am well over 6' tall, and get backache if I spend any time with my hands in the sink. For a while I tried using two cheap bowls one inside the other, to raise it up higher, but it didn't really work, and emptying it was likely to tip water everywhere. What I like about this bowl.○ It has its own drain, so you don't have tip the bowl to empty it - just reach in and give the plug a twist.○ Presumable to help it drain, it is raised up on legs a little. This is what saves my back; it may only be an inch or so, but I haven't had a backache through washing up since buying it.○ Nice little drainer area at the side - they show this being used for sponges and the like, but I use mine for cutlery and utensils waiting to be cleaned.○ Because the bowl is a bit smaller than many bowls, it wastes less hot water, and - presumably as it is raised off the sink - it seems to keep hotter for longer. However, it is still big enough for my largest plates. All in all, a bit of a success.

When you think of washing up bowls you don't think of them being innovative. You pretty much think of them being all much of a muchness in that they are just plastic tubs that hold water which you tip out when you are finished.Well this is quite an advanced washing up bowl that offers more than that. First it has handles meaning it is straightforward to carry. But what if it is too heavy from the water and you can't lift it? Well then you can release the water via the plug in the middle. This drains the water and at the same time catches any food that came off of your dishes so that you can easily lift out the plug and transfer the rubbish to the bin and hopefully avoid blocking your sink anymore. Also the plug when closed doesn't let the water through so it works very well. The next innovation to this bowl is a storage part attached to one side of the bowl where you can put brushes, washing up liquid, sponges and any other bits and pieces you might want to.We don't have a dishwasher so have to wash the dishes manually so for us this is perfect.

I have been looking at Joseph Joseph products for some time and was a little disappointed with an item of theirs I had previously. There is no doubt about it that their products are not the cheapest around and I don't normally like to 'buy cheap, buy twice'. However, I have bought many cheap washing up bowls over the years, and thought it was time to 'invest' in a better quality of product. I have not regretted my purchase of this and a Joseph Joseph extending drainer!I am using less hot water (except when i forget to tighten the plug! Ha ha) and love how it fits in my sink. I have the handles at the front and back, with my tools out of the way at the back of the sink. And as for the drainer...items dry quickly due to the increased airflow under them, the changeable size is an absolute bonus, keeping the work top neat, and there's no more sitting water as a result of the drain! I love gadgets in my kitchen and never thought that i could be so pleased with such utilitarian items, but i can thoroughly recommend both of these items.

If I were to describe this product in a few words, it would be a portable, miniature sink. It consists of two compartments, the larger measures 29cm (length) x 30cm (width) x 13cm (depth) whilst the smaller measures 8cm (length) x 30cm (width) x 13cm (depth).Within the larger compartment, there is a plug with a built in strainer so that large particles can be disposed of in a bin rather than going down the drain and potentially blocking it and is clearly designed to be used as a washing up bowl. The smaller compartment is designed to be used as a storage tray for washing up liquid, scrubbers etc.In my opinion, this is actually a much more useful product than I was expecting it to be as it effectively allows you to move your sink to wherever it is needed, rather than having to trail dripping wet cloths across the floor. Accordingly, it does seem like a genius idea, with the only downside being that you need somewhere to store it!

This is a tough review to write ... I have coveted this washing up bowl for a very long time! Longed for it, lusted after it ... ummed and ahed about if it was ridiculously expensive for a washing up bowl.Covid19 made me do it. I hit buy and waited not so patiently for it to arrive.and when it did all my hopes and dreams died.IT is absolutely perfect. My sink is the worst!I measured the top opening of my (new) sink and thought it would fit but, I didn't take into consideration that my sink curves significantly at its base (or rather halfway down) and although the bowl goes in ... it stops midway!I was gutted!Heartbroken.I contemplated if I could get away with ordering a new bigger sink but eventually I faced the reality and got my daughter to repackage the bowl and I started a return.Life sometimes sucks but, this bowl is a beauty to behold and if your sink allows, buy it.

It got delivered m, I immediately put it to use and instantly fell in love; convenience and innovation at its best.A word of warning though; if you don’t have taps/faucets that can be swivelled out of the way, the removing this bowl from your sink when it’s full of water and dishes etc is going to be very difficult and annoying but that’s true for removing any bowl from a sink with rigid taps. The handles make it nice and easy to lift, the storage area for washing products is a nice convenient feature but the highlight, the real joy, is the combination drain plug and sieve at the bottom of the bowl (which, by the way, drains the water rapidly (rather than trickling out slowly as I was worried it might do)).I love it.Too early to comment on its durability as I have had it for just over half a day, but in terms of its features I am in love.

I do like a Joseph kitchen product and used to have this in white without the extra storage compartment at the side but the white obviously gets fairly grubby and stained so decide to go for this which even though says Grey I see it as a dark blue! Looks lovely and contemporary in a modern kitchen and it’s good to have the compartments for your sponges and cloths but the main compartment even though it could fit 2 bottles (i.e a small bottle of washing up liquid and a bottle of kitchen spray) when you put both full bottles in, the whole thing tips up. You’d have to have water in the sink compartment to stop this from happening which don’t really want to do.A bit annoying but you can’t have everything!

Built tough which I like. The steep sides are good. So it doesn't spill when I lift it out with water in it. Quite a tight fit in my sink but I like how it protects the sink. I'm not one to steep dishes in hot soapy water as I tend to wash dishes with a running tap and scourer. It's more hygenic, however this is a great item should I need to soak some very dirty dishes for a while and then it easily lifts out with the handles which is great. Another good use of this is for hand washing mucky hands in the garden. There is a place to put the handwash and nailbrush then it could just drain outside. Great for kids or gardeners. I like the easy twist drain.

I'm using this for a purpose the makers probably didn't expect; water changes on my aquariums! The sturdy handles making carrying the bowl a breeze even when full of water, there's no sharp edges on the plastic. When I want to fill the aquarium, I just part release the drain and water flows in steadily without a sudden rush that would startle the fish. It's brilliant, no water splashed on the floor or cabinets. The side compartment is useful for draining filter media after rinsing in tank water. Highly recommended for aquarists; loses a star as the price is high for a piece of plastic.
