I have bought numerous pairs of Inov8 shoes over the years with the standard width size normally suiting my wide feet fine. These however, are a slightly tighter fit (as advertised) due to expected use of this style, i.e. trail walking/running on rocky terrain. Fortunately I managed to just get away with my normal size 10.5, but if I ever ordered another pair I would definitely go up a half size (recommended). They are a snug fit in the heel area which I have found very reassuring on rocky terrain, also they seem to have reasonably tough uppers. I have had some issues with several of my Inov8 shoes with very poor quality uppers i.e. stitching failing after just a few wears (Roclite 295 being the worst example)

After reading up everywhere on the internet I decided to go for the TrailRoc 285s. I do extreme endurance events apparently I have a Spartan Ultra Beast which I will be doing on October 1st this year in Lake Tahoe. When it comes to shoe shopping it's the most important part not only you're going up to 26 miles up and down a mountain but you have hundreds of very difficult obstacles to do as well. Earlier this year I did another very difficult event but I didn't care about my Footwear and 5 hours into the 12-hour event, I fractured my ankle because I didn't have the proper gear for the situation. After reading reviews from world champions in obstacle course racing they swear by the shoe brand.

Have only been on 3 runs while writing this. I normally take a 10.5UK but had to go half a size up with this trainer. I have a wide foot, but it's a comfy fit with no issues so far.They felt very good on the sandstone and Forrest route that I take. Like them very much

Nice fitting shoes, decent support and quite comfortable. The uppers wore out (above the little toe) on both shoes within a few weeks -- they'd snagged on rocks/shrubs whilst out -- I'd expected something a little more robust

Very pleased with these shoes. They are much more comfortable than the 212 yet not overly heavy and have dealt with the heel pain I was having. I highly recommend them

Very nice trail shoes, good grip as expected with Inov8, fit is a little neater than ideal, I would go a half size up on your regular trainer size with these

This is sixth pair of Inov8's. As always great quality, comfortable and light weight. I've done plenty of kilometers in mine and they still look great.

Very comfortable and lightweight shoe, well fitting also the narrow foot. I like the protection around the shoe.

Great trail shoes been put to some tough terrain and coped really well in some very slippery conditions.
