I only bought the Parkclaw because I needed a trail shoe that fitted my wide feet. The Parkclaw is a 5 on Inov-8's scale of widths, which is the widest. Saucony Peregrine, Mizuno Wave, Scarpa Neutron, Brooks Cascadia, etc, were all too tight and while the Altra Olympus was wide enough in the forefoot it was too cushioned and too wide in the heel and felt like wearing a lose and over-sized sponge. In contrast, the Parkclaw not only fitted but was extremely comfortable. It feels like wearing a slipper and I never want to take them off.I have now run over 500km in the Parkclaws and my longest run to date was 22km. Most of that has been on trails and tracks. The Parkclaws are showing no signs of wear, either on the uppers or soles. They are very comfortable to run in and give the right balance or protection, cushioning and "springiness". I am particularly impressed with how well the Parkclaws cope with a wide range of surfaces and conditions. I've run on roads, stony mountain trails in the Alps and Dorset trails consisting of chalk, clay and sand. The shoes have worked well on all of them. They lose traction in deep or slippery mud, so for runs that involve significant mud or wet grass I'd wear a shoe with a more aggressive tread, but that's the flip-side of them being so comfortable and capable on all other surfaces. The upper is a lightweight, breathable mesh. This really adds to their comfort because it is soft, stretchy and unencumbered with lots of plastic and rubber additions. I don't like running shoes with too much plastic on the upper that reduces the shoe's flexibility and hence comfort. This lightweight fabric also ensures my feet don't get too hot, even on the hottest of days. This does mean that any water is immediately wicked through the fabric and onto my socks. Again, that's the flip-side of the breathability. So, for example, running on grass after a heavy dew leaves you with damp socks. And on a really cold, frosty morning I can feel the cold air through the mesh until my feet heat up.I'm so impressed with the Parkclaws that I've ordered a pair of Parkclaw GTX for use on colder / wetter runs on trails without deep mud.If you want an all-round trail shoe and don't need to tackle deep mud and haven't got narrow feet then I really recommend trying the Parkclaws.

I don't think of myself as having 'wide feet'. For years I skied in 27.5 cm / 98mm width boots. My feet have expanded a little and now I ski in 27.5 cm / 99mm width boots.Usual trainer size is 9.5 UK / 28.5 cmHowever, the fit of these in Inov-8 5 (EE) width of these in a UK size 9.5 is just sublime with a mid-weight sock.If you're familiar with The Foot Collective/Kelly Starrett (Supple Leopard/Ready to Run), and looking to get into barefoot running these are a great starter pack, albeit with 8mm drop. The foot can really splay out, giving far more balance and reducing stress on the shins and calves. I have also purchased a pair of Terraultra G 270 with 0mm drop to complement them.Coming from a Brooks Beast, the fit, weight & comfort is a revelation. Get Some!!

Long time Inov-8 user. These replace a worn out pair of RocLite 255. Ideal shoe for short road/footpath distance to get to a trail run.My daily run is a mile of footpaths, 4 miles of gravel, woodland tracks and the 1 mile footpaths back. For those with wide feet and needing a roomy foot box, this shoe is ideal. Runs true to size - my normal shoe size is a seven and I always buy a size 7 in all my Inov-8 shoes. They do a vortex version of this shoe. This time around I decided to get the regular version. You are more likely to get water go over the top into the shoe. The goretex then keeps the water in. Better to let the water escape.

What do I dislike, not much the sole is a bit thin but this is expected for such a shoe.Grip works well on most terrain giving you confidence to run faster in places you normally wouldn't.Upper is a mesh like compound, so great for breathability and any water that finds it's way in.Heel is soft, flexible and holds, so with some elastic laces it makes it very easy to slip these on.Downside is the colour, sure great to be seen just requires cleaning often, unless you prefer the rough look.

I’ve run marathons, cross country, trail and track with pins and a plate in my ankle. I’ve always had problems with Planter and Achilles with all the big brands! With these bad boys the problems have gone! Super comfortable, great grip and suitable on and off road! Obviously there will be better trail shoes and better road shoes but these cover both really well with exceptional comfort! Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be another pair!

Got these in an offer and have no complaints. super comfortable and light yet they provide really good support. I have been using them for a mix of trail and pavement and they don't dissapoint. to the point that a few times I went with them on road runs instead of using my road shoes. Great shoes.

Fit as expected (UK 10.5 = US-M 11.5 = EU 45). Wears a bit faster than expected, but that's got more to do with my running technique than with the shoes. Compared to other shoes I have or had, the arch is a bit more toward the back of the shoe. This took 2 mins to get used to, no issue at all.

Unbelievable grip on these guys, it’s more flexible than I was expecting but the fit is great for wide footed people like me. Would def buy again. They come up Feeling a touch small because they are quite a shallow fit. I had to go up half a size becauseof this but they are great shoes.

I’ve worn inov8s for a lot of years this was my first out of parkclaws and I’m smitten. They have a bit more cushioning and we’re comfortable from the off. I go a 1/2size up in this fit over the f-lites which I wear in normal shoe size. Very impressed.

These shoes are well reviewed but unfortunately they were much too wide for my feet. I recently had my feet measured and they are "normal" width. I suggest that unless you have wide feet you should look elsewhere.

It is hard to compare over a period of many years, but I feel that these shoes are the best I ever had.Creates an automatic stride and has good shock absorbance.I usually buy 2 pair of shoes every year..

Not the stickiest rubber or best grip but just ran Quest for the Crest 50k with 12,000ft of climbing and 12,000ft of descent in extremely wet and muddy trails and they performed above my expectations.

like the design. Comfortable to run in on the streets. The finish could be better, too many bits of glue visible give a cheaper look than it deserves

My first pair of trail shoes and they are great. The first run was on mud and barely a slip. Very comfortable and spot on for size.
