I bought one of these as a trade off between the overpriced Nikon MBD-10 and the cheaper variants that are available. It's very well made and fits the camera like a glove.It's true value is in it's ergonomics when it comes to taking pictures in portrait orientation. The camera feels more substantial. It gives the camera a serious pro look make over and makes it very sturdy with larger lenses.You have to manually select the battery that you want to switch to when one battery runs out, but that's a minor irritation when weighed up against the benefits.It has a tripod socket built in as well as the front and rear command dials. It also has a multi selector that mirrors the functions of the cameras own selector,and it falls neatly in range of your thumb.In the blister pack, you get the Grip with a battery holder that takes same battery as the camera. This holder also has a socket for the car charger that is included. A second battery holder is included, and this takes 8 AA type batteries. As if that isn't enough, to top it off, they also include a slim remote control release. It isn't great, but it can get you out of a tight spot if you have your camera on a tripod and need to shoot at a slow shutter speed.To sum up, I'd say this kit is well worth the money for the handling benefits and the contents that you get in the bundle.
