If you were lucky enough to acquire Chromecast Audio while they were available, to plug your hifi into streaming music such as Primephonic or a Google Play Music collection of ripped CDs, then these minis in conjunction with setting up default groups for music playback in Google Home, are the ideal way to mix new and old. No need to sacrifice speaker quality and compromise with a smart speaker - just talk to the Nest mini to get your music, weather forecast, and use it at moderate volume to fill any gaps in your house to have music all day and everywhere if you want. Quality best if you mount it firmly on a wooden partition wall or cupboard as that boosts the bass, otherwise limited by simple acoustics.

This is my very first Google speaker and it's tiny but I can't believe the sound quality it's amazing I can't believe that such good sound can come from such a small device and I don't understand these people who say there not happy with the sound obviously it's not going to be the same as a bigger speaker but I think it's very good I'm glad I chose this speaker although I am going to purchase the bigger one next as my main lounge speaker and put the smaller one in the bedroom so yes I would definitely recommend this Google mini for the price it's well worth it plus also I don't think the voice is to much like a robot like some say very happy.

Hi , I bought this speaker with little to no knowledge of what it was capable of , and now it really is a necessity, so much so I have bought another. The sound is great , and I mean really great , and with Google assistant it can do so much more , it answers any questions I throw at it , it reads me the news as I get ready for work, tells me traffic reports before I leave , plays my music , sets my alarms , reads bedtime stories to the kids while I act them out , ive paired up two for stereo sound , they really are amazing , and for the price I can't recommend the nest mini enough

Went for google as I assumed you’d be able to listen to music for free via YouTube BUT after having set it up, I find out that you have to have a subscription to either YouTube or Spotify which both cost 9.99 a month which I think is incredibly expensive as apposed to Alexa which is just 3.99 a month ! For something I bought predominantly for just listening to music and having to pay £10 a month I think it’s not worth it !Also doesn’t respond sometimes and has quit a bit of lag time compared to Alexa..

We already have a Google Home, which probably helps, (as we had already done some of the initial work: downloading the free app & connecting it to our home WiFi) but adding the new Nest Mini was so easy. Plug-in the supplied USB power lead & the unit flashes, the 'new' device appeared on the app, we gave it a new name 'Kitchen' clicked on Play Music and we were away - it sounds great! (As a bass player in bands for 30+ years, the spread of frequencies is really decent from this tiny speaker!).

Bought this for my son's Birthday as he loves everything tech, but we all love it and its staying in our living room. We are a busy family and we are always asking it everything..what time is it (as we are rushing about), what's the weather today (as we are about to leave), set a timer (so I don't burn the tea), set an alarm (to remind me to do something), etc. And we have signed up to Spotify so we constantly have music on in the house now. It's use's are endless! LOVE IT! And easy to set up!

Great product and really useful. Speaker quality isn't too bad considering the small size so long as the volume isn't set too high. Really surprised at how well it understands voice commands and with the range of things it can do. Marked down 1 star because I think at the full recommended retail price of around £50 it should have a rechargeable battery to allow it to be portable. If you can get it on offer for around £30 or less it's good value for money. I personally wouldn't pay £50 for it.

We first purchased an amazon Alexa, but it was useless, it kept disconnecting from Spotify and didn’t know the answer to anything you asked it. We returned it because it was a waste of money & purchased this google assistant instead. Having used both devices I can say that this one is far superior it’s absolutely brilliant, it has no connectivity issues with Spotify & you can ask it questions, anything you might Google you can ask it and it will respond with the answer. Definitely recommend.

i bought this so i could have unique control over my bedroom lights, but sadly after about 1/2 an hour hadn't succeeded so i gave up and asked alexa to do it instead (took about 30 secs), the nest mini is great, good mics, adequate sound, fantastic at answering questions but oh boy, is there a lot it can't do compared to alexa units. my only complaint is the default power cycle on the bulb is 100% brightness, not great at night if you have a power cut as its really bright (i use it at 20%).

This Google Nest Mini 2nd generation is the best purchase I made. Sets within seconds, connects fast, talks back straight away, connection is great any where in the house, easy to use. It’s also portable as you can carry it around the house, and it’s lightweight. The sound is clear and loud enough, you can even tell google to put the volume to a certain percentage, change language and also you can set it just to your own voice so it will only respond to your voice. I do recommend this.

I do like these products however there are a few issues with them:-1, Their voice recognition needs improvement; I have programmed multiple routines in them and sometimes they don't recognise what I say2, the cables are too short; I wanted to mount one on my wall yet I couldn't because the cables couldn't reach as far as was needed3, not enough colour choice; charcoal, white, blue and red aren't enough colours to choose from,Other than that I'm satisfied

Having bought one of these as a Christmas gift for a family member, we were impressed by the functionality and the sound quality.Literature suggested that with 2 devices you can get full stereo by linking them together (via Google Home app) and specifying left / right output channels. Tried this and was really impressed by even better sound quality and great separation of stereo channels. Makes a simple, quality and hands free music and radio system.Recommended.

Google nest not a single complaint, slotted in nicely along with my google home, great sound too used everyday. However the Philips bulb was a let down, worked for two weeks then wouldn’t reconnect so now it’s just a bulb on the Philips app, and have other less expensive bulbs which have been working with my google devices for ages this one doesn’t want to connect to the Wifi anymore only Bluetooth!!! Otherwise this review would have been 5 stars across the board!!!

Amazing sound quality. I bought it to act as a radio, but it's so much more. Rediscovered my music collection through it. Works as a TV voice remote when casting to chromecast. Integrates well with Google, so calendars lists reminders timers etc and any questions you ask you get a good quality Google answer. It can tell the difference between all the voice in my house. Keep discovering things it can do. Very happy with this £25 buy

This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She absolutely loves it! She's been playing music and saying up her own routines for when she says things like "Hey Google, Good morning". She loves that it will tell her the weather, give her a bit of news and then play her favourite Spotify playlist with one simple command. I like it because she doesn't *need* her phone in her room when she's supposed to be studying anymore!
