Battery Tester? well yes it does actually test batteries in so far as the LCD indicator registers movement, in fact constant movement up and down the scale so that it is impossible to accurately read the true capacity of the battery being tested.The pressure that is required to maintain the battery contacts to stay in a test position is seldom easy to maintain constantly, and I have found that few batteries either freshly recharged or brand new alkaline batteries are able to reach into the green fully powered section of the meter. My honest opinion is that this is the most inaccurate item I have ever bought,

The battery cover does not stay on and you have to hold it in place or the batteries fall out, which leaves you trying to use it with one hand.
