I've struggled to like the Glenmorangie Spios. It's a bold statement - the world's first whisky to be matured in old rye whiskey barrels.It just feels like the styles are fighting each other. You get the sweet spicy flavour of a grain whisky along with some of Glenmorangie's classic single malt taste. But it feels harsh on the palate against their other normal fare.The after-taste however is astonishing. It seems to last for ages and become smoother and warmer in the back of your throat over time. It lasts minutes rather than seconds!I've got Milsean and Bacalta too (the previous 2 years' releases) and while I'd happily shell out £80-ish on either of them again,

Two years ago, the day this nectar arrived on the market, I had the pleasure of tasting its vast range of flavours at Edinburgh Airport and bought 2 bottles the very day it arrived.Sadly, they were appreciated all too quickly and although they cost less than £80 each at the time, they were well worth the flavour. Now, at £200, this is still well worth the experience.Introduce yourself to this best of 2014 as soon as you can, because there is very little of it left on the market. I believe there is a lot of stock in bond, NOT being released, pushing the price up, BUT it's still well worth the price.The Lasanta is also worth trying.

bottle arrived swifty. I shopped around and found this to be the cheapest place to but. Also genuine, which I never knew was an issue until doing a bit of searching. But this place has been around for a while and has lots of reviews. Came in great packing.I can't comment on the whiskey itself - but I will try it on boxing day!I purchased this as it was voted the best whiskey of 2013/14 in a book where the guy travels the world tasting different kinds.

Brought this for the hubby who LOVES his whiskey. Although he is yet to taste it, he has high expectations as so far all Glenmorangie's have been enjoyable, although he prefers the Glenlivet collection.

One the best at this price range and a must have for single malt lovers. A real delight to share and enjoy with friends.
