I firstly want to say that I'm not in any shape or form an expert ,but just an ordinary punter , who occasionally has a whiskey or whisky , even blended scotch which I'm not snobbish about , but i think its excellent from some scotch producers .But this redbreast lustau was recommended to me by a whiskey expert from a whisky book as one of the whiskeys/whiskys to taste before , you pop your clogs . You know who I mean .Please don't be put off by the 46%.strength . It is really really so very very smooth .i wanted to believe scotch was the premier whisky . But they do rest on their laurels a little bit , and produce some real fiery dross along with some fabulous stuff , but i really should have known better ,having tasted an excellent Bushmills a few years back and thought it was absolutely great stuff . And should have known that that whiskey was really not a one off at all .But NOW i am really proud to say it , on this occasion Irish is really the BEST, and in particularly THIS REDBREAST LUSTAU, is the smoothest whiskey , i have ever tasted .Please believe me when i say you will NOT be disappointed . Its so smooth , its fabulous , and although expensive, well for me at any rate , i would gladly only buy this stuff again . Please i recommend you try it .Until i maybe get a chance to taste a 1963 Dalmore.( Have to win the lottery on that one. LOL) . Its really such good stuff... the Redbreast Lustau . Real ...nectar ....Superb.

Bought this on the strength of the Redbreast 15 year. I really liked that one but this Lustau Edition is even nicer in my opinion and it is less expensive. I cannot do all that nose and palate stuff but I know what I like and I like this. I have always liked the smoothness of Irish whiskeys but the common ones do not always have the body and character. This has got the lot and in bucket loads. I recently finished the last drops of a lovely Bushmills 21 year and I honestly say I much prefer the Lustau, that is how good this is.

I've been buying this for a few years now. It is my favourite whiskey and as a result it's the one that I need to replace the most, on my 6th or 7th bottle at this stage. It's smooth like Redbreast 12, but it has a much more fruit like flavourful finish. Drinking whiskey neat might not be to everyone's taste but I would recommend that you try this neat. It is smooth and tasty enough that you'll get used to it quickly and then you'll get to enjoy the full flavour of this amazing representation of Irish Whiskey.

fantastic whiskey upto now ive had the 12 and 15 year old this in my opinion is better the sherry cask really has an exceptional effect on the flavour but is married so exceptionally to the whiskey it doesn't overpower. My previous fave sherry whisky befire this was glendronach 21 year old but this is exceptional whiskey and out does it dont let the price fool you this whiskey is amazing cant wait to purchase again slainte all @lthacks23 on instagram for more whiskey slainte

Original - Really struggled with this one, I just don’t like the taste. It’s like a glass of sherry at 45% and then an aftertaste of barrel bitterness which for me clashes with the sweetness. Overall I wish I’d bought the regular Redbreast 12 insteadEdit - just an update to say I’ve added a star because after a couple of weeks and a few more pours the barrel flavour seems to have eased up, its still there but not as prominent. Still not 5 stars for me though

I got this from Amazon for 37 quid recently but see it's now more like 45 - personally I didn't prefer it to Redbreast 12 Which is slightly cheaper and massively better. If you are a massive sherry finish lover then you may perfer it but I doubt it - there's a slightly odd flavour which I didn't object to completely but isn't like other sherry finish whisky whereas RB12 just oozes charm and quality.Go for that one.

I do not buy any drink wanting to analyze what and how many nuances in flavor I can find. In fact I don't understand why anyone would even want to do that! If anything, I drink to enjoy the full rounded experience of the finished product. I thoroughly enjoyed this tipple neat and as a general rule, I think it's pointless to add anything to any spirit. I love this but that doesn't guarantee that you'll love it too.

A lot like redbreast 12, this is a sweet, heavily sherried Irish whiskey. Redbreast seem to deliver expressions that are rather close to scotch, as far as Irish goes but for scotch fans is avoid this as it has the sharp snap of a young whiskey. On the other hand, if you like Irish, this is a great whiskey with a difference and I'm sure bourbon fans would like this as well.

Really fab stuff this, was thinking about it for ages but started finding the Redbreast 12 a little played out for me now and was hesitant. Friend recommended it and the btl in the bar was guzzled before I had a chance to get to it. Really great stuff, blows Glendronach 12 out of the water in my view. Only problem is the £50 ish price point, wee bit pricey imo.

Gorgeous, I don't usually spend a lot on Whiskey and this is top end for me, but it's worth every penny and is probably very good value compared to others of comparable quality. Apologies for the lack of tasting notes, but the name and description sum it up very well anyway. I like Redbreast generally (special occasions) and this is now my favourite

After watching and reading reviews on this whiskey i decided to buy..boy am I glad I did.it's a lovely complex but not to complex irish whiskey.flavours of wood, dark fruits,Brown sugar and a nice hint of the sherry it's finished in..ordered the 12 year..can't wait for it to come.would definitely buy again..

My word. Maybe it's patriotism, being Irish, but this is probably the best whiskey I've tasted. My pallette prefers a smokey whisky, but the richness and complexity that this offers is second to none. Fruity, toasted almond and a hint of coconut. Sweet and rich and deep. An incredible drink.

My husband bought the original version of Redbreast whiskey and thought it was delicious so I bought him this sherry finish edition as a present. Apparently it is even nicer than the original! It has become his favourite whiskey so I hope its not discontinued.

I am not usually a fan of whiskey but I can drink this stuff very easily. It doesn't have that nasty aftertaste that I associate with whiskey, and while I am aware you get what you pay for, for £41 this seems to be punching far above its weight!

This drink really changed my perspective on Irish Whisky. I've always enjoyed a bit of Irish but viewed it as almost a third place whisky. This, and a couple others I've had since, showed me how wrong I was and, boy, am I glad I was so wrong.
