Glenfiddich Project XX is a different departure to the lighter IPA Glenfiddich Project. The XX is 20 different Glenfiddich casks, chosen by 20 different whiskey aficionados, and then those 20 casks, all taken from the same Glenfiddich cask house, are blended. Technically it is a single malt because all the casks have been taken from one of Glenfiddich's own caskhouses, but Glenfiddich are not advertising it as a single malt.This is a totally different nose and flavour from the Glenfiddich general single malts, it is a strong flavour, with a different taste and more especially after taste. With that strength does not come the cringe at the end of it though,

WOW! If you have ever tasted Glenmorangie Signet, this isn't quite as complex, but by golly, for the price it's a fantastic dram from Glenfiddich. I'm not really a fan of Glenfiddich 12 any more and sometimes will dip into the 15yo and 18yo. However, this experimental whisky is just fabulous for the price. Very complex and you can easily nose the complexity of the 20 different casks used in this (17 oak, 2 sherry and 1 port pipe). The sherry cask is quite dominant - and the whisky has some young and older casks within it. On the nose, vanilla, cinnamon, citrus fruits and Christmas cake. Taste: raisins, xmas cake, candied peel, barley sugar, the sherried casks really do come through.

A wonderful dram. Very well balanced on the nose with a slight burn given that it's bottled at 47%. In the mouth it delivers again, although there is a tangible numbness that follows the after taste. Whilst it isn't unpleasant, it does hint at some younger whisky's winning the battle in the bottle alongside some of the older unnamed no age statement whisky's. It's a a stand out whisky considering Glenfiddich doesn't normally have a presence in my collection. Given the more than reasonable price of £50 (or there about), the level of quality and complexity is an absolute success and ticks both my main concerns when I buy Whisky aka the two "P's".....What does it do for my Palate and what does it do to my Pocket?

As a more mainstream brand, I like Glenfiddich as an everyday whisky but if I want something more expensive I tend to go for other higher end makes, such as Balvenie or Glenmorangie (shallow of me, I know) – but in this case the Project XX sounded interesting enough to take a gamble on. I'm glad I did – it's easily on a par with the aforementioned brands, and has a richer, more full bodied flavour than the regular Glenfiddich. The taste leans towards the rich, sweet and malty side of things, which I like, but lovers of smokey/peaty whisky's may want to look elsewhere.

Absolutely delicious whisky. The flavour profile was staggering. On the nose there was beautiful woody scents, with hints of cinnamon and vanilla, leading to the palette, there was delicious smoky cinnamon flavours, with hints of candy floss. Adding a drop of water opened this whisky up amazingly, revealing hidden flavours of liquorice and tannins. On the finish, it lingered, with flavours of dark chocolate and orange. Over all, I’d rate this whisky a solid 91 out of 100. Will definitely be buying again

Glenfiddich does it again with it’s project experiment flavors! Having bought the two previous offerings, it’s hard to say which is my personal favorite, they’re that good. I live overseas and even though alcohol is tax free here, there’s loads of variety and much cheaper than the UK, these unfortunately are not available here hence having to order it overseas from the excellent Amazon! Great value and a perfect gift for others and in this case, myself. 10/10

If you’re a fan of Glenfiddich then you should keep your eye out for this bottle. Very comparable to the Glenmorangie Signet which is 3-4 times the price of this whisky. On the nose you get classic Glenfiddich notes of fresh fruitiness, apples, apricot but much more intense aromas of milk coffee, chocolate and some port influence. For a relatively inexpensive NAS whisky it is surprising full bodied and mature. Definitely worth a try for under £50.

Wow! If you've had Glenmorangie Signet, it tastes a bit like that, but different and less refined (and at under half the price you'd expect it wouldn't you?!) If you haven't been fortunate enough to have tried Signet, then it's got a heavily caramel, almost chocolatey, quality with liquorice and then a strong smoke in the tail. Now that is a great experiment!It is so good that I ordered a second bottle after finishing my first glass!

This Whisky came on time, I wish I took a photo now but it came in a beautiful box and wrapped up well in delivery so I’m well impressed, I’m buying this for my best friends boyfriend who loves the good stuff, from what I’ve learnt this whisky is not found anywhere but mainly online, I’ve done a lot of searching, so my friend said this is a must have for him. So all I need todo is wait on the tasting lol I’m sure he will love it .

Brilliant whiskey! I bought it for my partner as an anniversary gift a few years ago and he loved it! The bottle didn’t last long he enjoyed it that much.I recently bought him another bottle for his birthday and it’s almost gone already. He said it’s so hard to make it last as he enjoys it so much more than any of his other whiskeys. Perfect gift for a whiskey lover. We both loved the story behind it too. Just adds to it’s value.

I have collected all the experimental glenfiddichs from the series so far.This one I was the most excited to try. Its difficult to describe and its possibly because im a novice when it regards to tasting whiskies. I just found there was too much going on with regards to flavour, which I dont think is a bad thing. I certainly have never tasted anything like this before. I did enjoy it, just not in a rush to pick up another.

After consuming the whole bottle I found my vomit to have a rather bitter after taste. I had not soiled myself as I often do on Vodka and thats a testament to the quality of this whiskey. Apparently I was almost incoherent after just half the bottle, according to my wife, and had tried to fight not only the neighbour but also the responding police. 10 out of 10.

Having worked in the whisky industry for 41 years, for 1 of the 2 biggest companies, I have tasted lots of whiskies. This is one I would put in my top 5. While I found it a bit burney (that's a Scottish technical term ?) on the tongue, to on inthe follow through was very smooth with a gorgeous sweet flavour. This is the 2nd bottle I have bought.

You can't know what to expect from an experiment where they brew their own beer and distill something unique... so for me it was 100% pleasant surprise. Smooth, full, bold - just a great overall experience. Nice gift, or even better, something great to crack open with whisky-loving friends.

Beautiful presentation of a lovely bottle of whiskey. Brought this as a birthday present for my mother-in-law, she said it tasted really smooth and went down well, also the bottle looked really expensive and elegant and would definitely have it again.
