I have been using this razor for years and have always been pleased. I initially had the Mach 3 and then replaced the blades with Mach 3 turbo (the handles are the same) and despite trying some other razors, have always gone back to this... so for that alone it should be 5 out of 5.So what is this product... it's a set of blades (11 to be precise) and the handle. That's plenty to keep you going for about half a year if you follow the instructions on blade replacement. Personally I've tended to manage to get a month from a set of blades, and if anything these seem to last longer (over the last couple of years the longevity has decreased so the change is surprising). The key, it seems,is not the sharpness of the blades but the blue patch on one side of the blade. Once that is gone it cuts less smoothly it seems. However, on these blades it appears to be more of a sponge and evidently longer lasting... I will report back if I have any further feedback on this. The handle itself is the handle, and does what you would expect. The only gripe I have with this product is the lack of the razor/handle case. The handle fits the case; the cartridges themselves fit the case (they are provided here in the cartridge case in fact). So if this product is targeted at new customers it should have the case... if it is older customers whose razor handle is a little bit mucky and in need of replacing... they (or me anyway) want the case replaced as well. For that alone, I'm dropping a star.

I find shaving a monumental pain in the behind, but I hate being unshaven! What's a boy to do? Have decent shaving gear for a start. In this world of marketing manipulation we or at least I get easily swayed about razor evolution and updates. This being the case I moved from the Gillette Mach 3 Turbo to the avowedly superior Gillette Fusion Proglide sometime ago. Having been offered the former model with a generous number of spare blades I am now reviewing sort of in reverse.Should the urge take you you can look at the exact specifications of each model on the appropriate Amazon page, this will be a users review. I suppose the main and obvious difference is that the Proglide has five blades as opposed to the Mach 3's four. Both have lube strips and if there is a differences between them I cannot tell, they seem the same. Both shave reasonably well and the blades seem to last me the same length of time (about 3-4 weeks). Is there a plus for the Mach 3 over its competitor? Well yes, there is.The Proglide is , of necessity , a somewhat large head to accommodate the extra blade. The smaller head of the Mach 3 works much better for me in those "difficult to reach" areas like the corners of your mouth and immediately under your nostrils. So much so that for cost and manoeuvrability  I am happy to return to the older model. That is, I suppose,an excellent recommendation !

I remember thinking Mach 3 was a revelation when I first used it in the late '90s. Since then I've gone down the rabbit hole of DE safety razors and associated paraphernalia, but revisiting the Mach 3 today I can say imho it remains a high water-mark for the cartridge razor. With three blades and a lubricating strip for glide it avoids excess and has what can now, in hindsight, be seen as a charming restraint. The logic of a multi-blade - to limit the need for repeated strokes - does check out, and by having three it avoids the feel of clamping a flat, large surface to your face that you can get with the Fusion and similarly-styled cartridges. Mach 3 is the sweet spot between too few and too many. There's a reason the design has endured over the decades. It works.Using the Mach 3 with my usual traditional pre-shave and soap I can, through gritted teeth, say it's delivered a shave on par with several DEs that I've used in the past, and done well on preventing neck irritation to which I am prone. While it doesn't quite achieve the "BBS" finish, and I wouldn't dream of doing a three-pass shave with it, it does simply provide a very good, close shave. And sometimes that's all you need.

This is a highly technical razor that comes with 15 'blades', the blades actually being cassettes with three blades and a gel strip that lubricates your face.First of all, about me.I'm 62 years old and I've shaved, except when I wore a full beard, with a simple safety razor for well over forty five years now. This is my first venture into modern wet shaving systems. I was given these to try at no cost to myself. The package is an absolute nightmare to get open. It needed a pair scissors and a great deal of physical strength to finally open it.The shave itself, using Gillette aerosol shaving soap, was both close and smooth, like using a conventional safety razor twice in a morning and giving similarly good results. The gel strip lasts about five shaves with me.The only problem is probably the price. Gillette Mach 3 blades cost about £1:50 each, a conventional razor blade, even a best quality one from Wilkinson's, costs less than 15p.So, easy to shave with, easy to use, costs a bit and produces waste that looks difficult to dispose of. If you really need a fast close shave, or you can't be bothered to learn how to use a safety razor buy this.

I am deeply sceptical about most of the latest innovations in men's razor blades and have been unimpressed by the recent trend to simply add more blades or a fancy lubrication strip or pointless pivoting head.Having tried most of the razors on the market, in order to avoid the dreaded razor rash, I was impressed by the Gillette Mach3 Turbo Razor. It's three blade system is enough to make a clean sweep of most hairs in just one or two strokes, with a minimum of irritation. The blades are long lasting, maintaining their effectiveness for up to a dozen shaves. The blades are also well positioned, which makes them less prone to becoming clogged with hair and they are easily rinsed clean. The design is simple yet stylish, with a comfortable rubbersied grip and a good weight, which is something that is too often missing from other razors. My only criticism is that it would be nice to have a precision trimmer, as the placement of the blades makes it a little difficult to reach those hard to reach hairs under the nose.Overall, a classic and understated razor that offers a better shave than most of its more expensive competitors.

Despite the hype that tells you that more blades / moisture strip / laser beams will make you look like George Clooney, the shave that most of us get is limited by our ability not by the tool! That said, I have been using Mach3 turbo on and off since they came out. I am very prone to redness and irritation regardless of the blade I use so any reduction is a good thing. These blades work well but only as part of the right combination of shaving cream / gel, razor and technique. The art of manliness blog has some great shaving tips - go read it!These blades work really well and last me around 10 days each. They are expensive but seem to do the job nicely.Shave with the grain first and then slightly rear of cross grain reapplying shave cream in between for the very best results and finish with cold water! If you haven't tried them before then do give them a go - this pack is good value on buying them individually from most suppliers. There are some interesting alternatives around if you look hard enough but for mass market blades, this is the best value combination I have found.

Mach3 has been my standard razor for as long as I can remember. Some while ago I "upgraded" to the Turbo blades which I found to be an improvement upon the standard ones. For some while however the quality of the blades declined considerably with respect to how long they lasted, namely just a handful of shaves before they clearly deteriorated. I have no doubt that this was a deliberate ploy to force users to buy the (expensive) blades more frequently and coin it in. Personally I had too much inertia to change brands, and I have never really got on quite so well with the blades from rivals as I have with the Mach3. No doubt Gillette's sales have suffered as a result of this though,as recently the quality of the blades has improved massively once again and I can get far more shaves out of them, probably even more than I could before that period of poor quality. Quite happy to give these blades a five star rating at the current time, assuming the quality doesn't "mysteriously" drop again at some future time.

For the past few years I have been using cheap Supermarket disposable razors thinking that a razor is a razor & will do the job than a more expensive Gillette one. How wrong was I!Straight away using the Gillette Mach3 it made me realise just how bad cheap razors are. The Gillette razor feels so smooth across my face & only takes one swipe of the area to give me a smooth close shave. No going over the same area again like I did with the cheap razors & then end up with a sore patch from the poor quality blades. You really get what you pay for, it is like going from driving a Ford to a Lambo! I can shave it half the time now as don't have to go over my the same areas over & over again.Plus I am left with no cuts or sore patches from the cheap blades. The Gillette has converted me back to more expensive razors.Cost isn't that bad when with this you get 36 weeks of shaving for the price. That's 9 months of shaving!I will never scrimp with cheap razors again.

For all the expensive shavers you can buy I still prefer a wet shave for the most effective shave. There is no comparison between the two. I have had several of the Mach 3 razors and not because they are poor quality but generally as the cost of the blades is expensive - around £10 for 4 blades. I am sure you can get cheaper ones but usually I can get a brand new razor with a couple of blades for around half the price. This 12 blade set though (with new razor - one new blade attached to the new razor and 11 replacement heads) is a more cost effective way of paying for your wet shave. For all the economics though it is really about the performance. As usual, this is excellent. It does a perfectly good job every time. So, it performs well and it is easier on the pocket (though still not cheap). The razors are well made and the blades are fine too. Overall, I'd recommend this pack.

This Mens Gilette Value pack consists of 10 Gilette Mach 3 Turbo refills/blades and the the Gilette Mach Turbo razor with 3D motion. This 3D motion is new with this razor as I already previously own a Gillette Turbo Mach 3 Razor and that old version doesn't come with it.So the 3D motion is supposed to adapt to the contours of your face as your shaving. The razor is comfortable to hold and has good grips around the handle as well. This razor does give you a close and efficient shave but it is not as good as the Gilette Fusion Razor as the refills consist of 3 blades as opposed to 5 and there is no precision trimmer at the back.Currently, selling on Amazon for £23.99 for the Value Pack. This representsa good introduction to shaving with Gilette providing a good shave and being more affordable than Gilette Fusion.

My husband, the esteemed Mr C, has been using Gillette Mach3 razors for as long as I've known him, which is a fairly long time. He tells me that they're the best on the market as far as he's concerned; the multi blade sprung construction allows the head to glide over the contours of his face to facilitate a smooth finish. The handle is ergomically designed for minimum slippage and is therefore easy to hold. The amount of razor blade heads this pack contains is impressive, as is the price. That said, Gillette razor blades tend to go blunt after ten days of usage and therefore they need to be replaced quite frequently - hence the 4* review. In conclusion,my clean shaven husband would therefore like to recommend this product to everyone barring Brian Blessed. Great stuff.

OK - the positive - a really smooth shaving experience - the razor head glides easily with no irritation at all. It's a razor perfectly suited to shaving large surfaces. If I was the kind of bloke who shaved his legs (cyclists, I'm talking to you here) this would be the razor for me. Fortunately, I'm not, so this razor is not a slam-dunk for me. My razor of choice is the Sensor Excel - the one with 2 blades. Why? Because it's got a really narrow head, which makes it great for precise trimming as well as general bear hairs. I just find the head on the Mach3 to be too wide, with its 3 blades, to be precise enough for trimming. As long as they still make the Excel, I'm going to stick with that.Sorry Gillette.

A simple razor which shaves close and clean with no fuss. This razor set will last you for 20 shaves a blade ( at least, I’m yet to meet someone who doesn’t stretch out the life of their razor for a couple more shaves) so that’s at least 180 shaves from this set.The shave you get from the blade is close, as in nothing left growing from my face close. If the first blade doesn’t get the hair, it’s mate that’s right behind him will, even the shortest stubble is literally wiped off your face. The razor is a good weight, sitting well in your hand and is easy to swish around your face around all the nooks and crannies.Rinsing under the tap and shaking dry deals with blade after you’ve finished.

I have tried others and keep coming back to Gillette Mach 3s.The blade sharpness is, in my opinion, superior to pretty much any other brand. The handle is shaped well for ease of use/grip and fits nicely in the hand. I shave my head as well so these a pretty much gold standard for me. No nicks or cuts (but then I have also started using them in combination with a good quality hair conditioner - applied to the skin instead of shaving gel - a tip picked up from a Youtuber, and the difference is amazing). Rinses free easily under the tap and good blade life even on thick stubble.Great product - worth the price without doubt. 9 x triple bladed heads; 1 x 3D handle.Highly recommended.

I use the Mach3 Power normally (orange/green one with a battery) and have done for a long time; I`m happy with it, but the blades are very expensive. This is just as good - I can`t say that I`ve missed the vibration offered by the battery power - and the blades (as you would expect) shave closely and last a while. I don`t shave much more than once or twice a week, so expect about a year from this pack - £25 for a new razor and eleven spare blades is pretty decent value - not amazing value, but very good for this blade and razor. I like to have a lot of spare blades in the cupboard, so this is pretty much ideal for me.
