I have found that good preparation ahead of shaving is crucial whether you have sensitive skin or not and therefore I tend to thoroughly wash my face several times using a good quality soap and very warm water, thoroughly rinsing off any soap before applying soap foam with a brush. It doesn't take long that much longer than washing and using a foam or cream, but the difference in the ease and quality of shave and the feeling afterwards is significantly better - simply put, you cannot rush a shave, just make time for it.I have used Gillette and Wilkinson Sword blades for 50+ years and have found that neither manufacturer can be faulted in terms of quality. In this case you receive a twin blade razor, which cuts well, although it could be reasoned not as well as 3, 4, or 5 blades types. As someone who remembers single blades, it just means that you have to make an additional pass on some occasions to pick up an additional hair or two. I am not sure whether the skin guard option which supposedly prevents skin irritation is that useful but, once again, for this with very sensitive skin it should (according to the manufacturer) and I think would be useful particularly to those new to shaving (my teenage son for example). All in all a good shave. So why have I deducted a star? I like the price at £15.50, which I think is fair, what I didn't like is that I had to acquire a new Fusion handle as these cartridges do not fit onto my Mach 3 handle - in my opinion a fundamental error and one which is quite frustrating. Why not produce a blade to a standard handle?

Very pleased with these blades.I used to use proglide fusion5 blades which were great for close shave but gave me really bad razor burn and irritation. I then switched to a Philips OneBlade, which was very comfortable and had no burn or irritation whatsoever, but it wasn't a very close shave and it took too many passes to get it to a decent closeness.I then decided to try these, and so glad I did. I must admit I was sceptical after the first shave as I did have a bit of razor burn, enough to bother you certainly. Second shave was better but come the third shave, I had no burn or irritation at all! I guess my skin was just getting used to another blade, particularly with the OneBlade being so different. It also gives a pretty close shave! Obviously not as close as the fusion5 blades, but not far off! Certainly a lot closer than the OneBlade. The Blades are very comfortable too with the 2 layers of lubrication above and below the blades. After 3 shaves I've still got my 1st blade and it still looks new, with all lubrication still intact. I imagine each blade will last a good while!I use these blades with my fusion proglide power handle, and I find the shave feels alot nicer with the powered vibration. The handles being universal is a big plus.Probably the best razor I've ever used, it has the best of both worlds, close shave and no razor burn!Just please be patient when you first try as it may take a few shaves for your skin to get used to it :)

Gillette seem to be getting a lot of unnecessary criticism just lately, but husband has nothing but praise for their new Sensitive Blades. I have marked them down one star because he doesn't pay for his shaving gear, and I think most cartridge blades are unnecessarily expensive.Husband has tough bristles and a large bonce which he shaves, and these blades dealt very well with both areas, although if he hadn't shaved for a day or two, he wonders if the blades would cope so well. They reduce irritation and razor burn because there are only 2 blades and these are separated by a soft plastic skin guard which is fed lubrication from impregnated rectangles above and below the head.Gillette recommend that your razor is stored in a dry place to prevent the lube dissolving in damp conditions. The effect of the new design is to flatten the skin as you move the razor. This reduces drag. The fewer blades lessen the amount of tug. The extra thin blades reduce pressure as they cut. However, the difference will be that your bristles will be taken down to skin level only. With more blades and no central guard, a razor will actually cut below skin level--but this is what can cause irritation, so you take your choice. We felt that Husband's shave with these blades was absolutely fine, really smooth, no irritation or dryness, and the head was easily cleaned under a running tap with less clogging than with more blades .

I have been using these blades for a while now. For years i have suffered with shaving rash, and no matter what i try i would have issue (blades, gels, foams, electric razors etc). However, this is probably the best blade that i have used that is good for its first shave, and still good after 10 shaves. As best i can tell the way that achieve it is that the shave is not quite (and its not really noticeable) as close as some of the other blades, meaning less friction and irritation on your skin. There is no pulling at the hairs, as the blades are good and sharp - just that you might need to shave again fractionally sooner - but the upside being that you don't look like you've been malled by a wild animal.Packaging of these things as ever is tricky, and can be frustrating, but its no worse than any others that I have used, and at least if you buy them online you don't have to get an armed guard to escort you to the tills for the security tag to be removed before you can take them home from the supermarket.I have, and will continue to keep using these blades - they do the job well, protect me from shaving rash and last a fair while too (although, lockdown may have something to do with that - no point shaving if no one is going to see you).

Well I found these two blade razors to be excellent on my skin, I shave every day so don’t need an aggressive razor, I hardly thought they were shaving at first seemed to be skidding over the stubble, but no the whiskers were being cut down nicely, one more pass against the growth gave me a damn fine shave ,a moment to touch up and bbs , brilliant, love this razor....BUT here’s the one big downer ,THE PRICE, tesco and Sainsbury’s are selling a four pack of replacement blades at £12 that’s £3 a single razor blade, it’s got one blade less than a Mach3 disposable yet cost twice as much when the Mach 3 is on offer at Sainsbury’s ..That’s such a pity, who is conning us , Procter and Gamble or Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s,I don’t know, but that’s a ludicrous price for one razor blade....these razors might not suit someone with a dark blue black stubble, again I don’t know , men’s shaving is very subjective, but I can say for me they are the best cartridge razor I’ve ever used, on comfort and no irritation there excellent..for me..You will just have to try them and make your own decision,,Personally I love em.but oh that ridiculous price.

I suffer from very sensitive skin. I have used a number of blades before and overall I like the Wilkinson Sword blades the best. The shave and irritation can also be dependent upon the shaving foam/gel you use. I tested these blades with my normal shaving product. They are the first blades I have tested that are designed for sensitive skin. They are constructed in a way that does not allow quite as much contact with the face, and so reduces razor burn. The only slight issue I had with them is in the closeness of shave. You do lose some closeness, but that is to be expected. What you have to do is to go over the skin another time and eventually it gets the shave just right. These blades are at the cutting edge (sorry for the pun) of razor technology. They work quite well and do not cause irritation, but you do have to draw them across the face a bit more than a normal blade for a good cut. Overall I am happy to Recommend them.

I've been using the Fusion blades for years as they have never let me down, especially when it comes shaving my head. I was intrigued by these sensitive versions as they only have two blades, but boast a comfortable shave, so am glad I got my hands on them to try.Upon using these, I instantly noticed how easy they glided over my skin and done so very comfortably which I was happy about. Unfortunately due to the less blades, at times I noticed they weren't as good as Fusion, but it was marginal; that said, because there were a load of razor blades clumped tightly together, cleaning was much easier as hair didn't get caught on the blades as much. After a shave of using these,my skin definitely felt less irritated than usual, so they certainly do the intended job well.Long story short: If you don't have sensitive skin, just go with Fusion; if you have sensitive skin, these are way more ideal.

These Gillette Skinguard Sensitive Razor Blades are a truly excellent product. The most comfortable smooth shave ever. Being a Gillette Fusion shaver for a number of years, due to its close smooth shave, I suspected these Skinguard razors would be equally as close a shave, but I was astounded that this new blade would exceed my expectations and I am now a convert.I left my facial growth for 5 days before testing… the blades cut through my stubble with ease. There is no redness or dry skin after use, but I do recommend using the Gillette shaving gel to compliment these razors for that soft, smooth feel afterwards... Remember the old Gillette advert... “the best a man can get”, well, this is it.(Women may use it too)

What I liked:- As advertised the razor pulled less on my facial hair, which meant less irritation. As someone who has to shave for work this is incredibly welcome- The blades fit the handle of my Fushion Proglide, so I did not need to purchase a whole new razor- The shave is still comfortable several shaves in- Cheaper than some other Gillette razorsWhat I disliked:- It struggles a bit to deal with longer facial hair (if you go away on holiday etc), leading to a slightly longer time to shave. This is only a minor inconvenience.- They are fairly expensive compared with other brands, but do offer one of the better shaves I've found so far.Overall:A worthwhile purchase which I will use again.

Hi all. One sentence sums it up pretty well: WoW Gillette really nailed it!I am 36 and been having irritation problems since I started shaving - give or take 20 years now.Up until now - no razor nor shaver I was really content enough.Even after shaving one way only along with hair, was not really cutting it - still, irritation was happening. :(After using this Skinguard Sensitive Razor for about two months now - for the first time I can say that I have 0 irritation, and even going against the hair is not causing rash or skin problems anymore.1000% happy with the purchase, will buy again in the future.Thank You Gillette!

I bought a pack of 4 a week ago. Initially, the fact that there were only 2 blades (plus the trimmer) on the cartridge threw me a little. I have stubble like razor wire, so was hesitant when first trying these blades. Am still on the first one, and no razor rash. Perhaps slightly too expensive (didn't I read somewhere that Gillette had listened to their customers and were dropping their prices??) , but they DO do the job. Same blade, one week, and so far no neck-rash. So if you are prone to shaving rashes, I would have to recommend buying them - just buy them when Amazon/local supermarket, etc, is doing a discount.

I use a Fusion razor all the time but I thought trying these Skinguard Sensitive blades might be worthwhile to reduce still further the minor skin irritation I sometimes get after shaving. These blades have only two cutting edges plus a special bar to reduce drag and skin friction. To be frank, I get a decent shave when using them but I cannot really say that I notice a significant difference in the feel of my skin after shaving. Probably worth trying if you do get irritation and razor burn when using your normal blades but for me there is nothing to choose between these and the regular Fusion multi-blades.

Works well with no irritation, even in a rapid and almost dry shave. Its own lotion on the blades comforts the skin and ensure there are no nicks or issues. The cartridges come in their own plastic storage clip container for safety, so there's no chance of children accidentally getting hold of these - they're awkward to just pull out without the right razor head. These are compatible with Skinguard and Fusion razors, and I used a Fusion head without an issue. Easy to story. Easy to wash out the blades for continued use, and good for about one weeks' worth of usage before needing replacing.

These heads are very expensive, but are the only thing that has worked on my very sensitive skin on face/neck.I used to get bad redness after shaving, even with proper pre shave technique and proper technique whilst doing the shave. But these heads have really reduced redness by such a lot on my neck, that it's hardly noticeable at all.The heads work well with my Nivea Sensitive Shave Gel for Men. Save gel is much better than foam with these heads, as there's far less irritation with shave gel.If only these were made years ago.Would recommend.

Although I have a small beard I do like to shave around that to keep things neat. I don't like to allow the hair on my neck to grow. But that area has always been sensitive and prone to the occasional irritation. I have used these blades for almost a fortnight and they are producing excellent results. I get the nice close shave I expect from Gillette blades but I have had no hint of irritation. Not the cheapest product around but if you are prone to skin irritation these are certainly worth a try.
