This umbrella has survived a stormy Scottish winter, blown inside out several times, been thrown, dropped and caught by a single spoke (which bent, but was easily bent back into shape), and has generally kept me happily mostly dry throughout (except when the rain was coming horizontally, but that's hardly an umbrella's fault!) The wooden handle is solid and comfortable to hold, and being a crook handle, is useful for hanging jackets, shopping bags, etc on when you need one hand free. The Fulton Magnum is large and heavy for a folding umbrella, even compared to other extra-strong models - it weighs my backpack down quite a lot, and it only fits in the bag diagonally. There isn't any plastic-rib trickery to the storm resistance of this umbrella: it's just really sturdy. Given enough wind speed it will blow inside out rather than break, but turning round to present the other side of the umbrella to the wind will snap it back into shape. The lack of an auto-close mechanism to complement the auto-open mechanism is sometimes a bit inconvenient, but I suspect it makes the umbrella as a whole simpler and less prone to breaking. All in all, when I inevitably leave this umbrella on a northbound train, never to be seen again, I'll be straight back here to order another one.[edit] Not long after I posted this review, the umbrella stopped opening. A little investigation revealed that the handle had gotten bent (I have a bad habit of throwing and catching the umbrella when I'm bored, and sometimes I miss!) and the green opening button was no longer engaging the bit of metal that released the umbrella catch. I just bent the handle back into place and it's been working for the last month or so. How many other umbrellas could you do that to without them just snapping? :)

I bought this last year just because the brand has good reviews. I only carry an umbrella if it's a little more than a light drizzle and it doesn't get much heavier than that, so of course the umbrella does what it's suppose to do. Shield me from the rain. I expect it to do so of course, so I couldn't say I was exceptionally impressed with it... until a few days ago. While walking back with my 4-year old, who had her little pink My little pony umbrella, it started to pour. Like really pour, with some mother of all gust of winds. Very soon, people walking around me all had their umbrellas flip, one by one including my girl's. Except mine. :) It held strong and albeit a bit wobbly in the wind,it did me proud and just held strong. At that moment I was just so thankful I bought the umbrella when I did - I was able to rescue my daughter and fix her umbrella. That said, it has a good width but I'm not giving it 5 stars because it's a little too long when folded for my liking. But of course, given how it's so wide when opened, the length was necessary. And why is this called a men's umbrella?

When I bought this umbrella, I was looking for one that would collapse small enough to be packed in a laptop computer bag or a suitcase, whilst still offering a decent-sized canopy formed of good quality materials. Ideally, it would have auto extension too, although that was less than essential. The fully-collapsed length of this umbrella (48cm: 19 inches) is a little more than the umbrella I had before it (despite which, the length of the handle when fully-extended is less), but I can live with that as a trade-off for a wider canopy and (I think) better-quality materials. The ten ribs of which Fulton boast may also be a bonus over what I had before,I'm not sure; a particularly mean blast of wind consigned this umbrella's predecessor to the umbrella graveyard some time ago. With luck, this one will resist blusterous weather a little better. And I got auto-extension! The mechanism works smoothly and is readily reset when folding the umbrella. In all, I feel I did well.

I recently sat at the computer dripping wet, awash with self-pity, having lost my umbrella and been caught in a deluge reserved only for the unwary and badly prepared. Determined this would never happen again, I ordered the Fulton Magnum, which arrived the next day and has accompanied me ever since. By chance the next few days were of brilliant sunshine, so the umbrella remained in its cover, though it would very soon be tested to the full. Out walking the dog, the drizzle on setting out turned into a storm-force gale and a horizontal downpour. Battered from all directions, it could only be a matter of time before the Fulton Magnum succumbed to intolerable pressures and, once ripped inside out, reduced to tatters. Not so! All three of us, Labrador, Fulton Magnum and owner, returned unscathed.Joking apart, the Fulton Magnum is extremely sturdy, excellent value for money and stows away tidily in the small bag I use to commute to work. Recommended.

After my last fold up umbrella fell to pieces, I decided it would be worth investing a little more money in a better made one. I already had a Fulton Golf Umbrella that has given me sterling service over several years, so a Fulton was top of my list. This mens auto umbrella is very well made, has a much wider canopy than most, giving that extra bit of protection from the rain. To allow for the bigger canopy, they have fitted more metal struts than usual, giving it increased strength and rigidity. The handle is comfortable, and the whole thing is easy to erect and fold up again. It takes up no more space than a smaller fold up umbrella, but that extra size when open is well worth the extra expense.OK, so there are cheaper ones on the market, but I'm glad I invested in this one. Like everything in life, you get what you pay for.Well made, robust and certainly worth the slightly higher price than a smaller cheap one. Highly recommended.

I have always brought umbrellas from poundland, markets etc, mainly fold up ones that fit in a handbag. But they always break or go inside out! So I got £20 spare and decided to try this fulton brand. And it was the best desicion ever! If you live in England, or near a windy beach then this is for you.The umbrella is an open and close make with a wooden handle, a little heavy. (about twice the size as a fold up one) but I can assure you it's worth it to carry around. It has a cover which is helpful so if the umbrella is used, I can put it away without it dripping everywhere. It also has a green button that will automatically open the umbrella. It's quite big but I like that idea, could fit 2 people. So you may find yourself walking on the road to avoid people on the path.My best friend does have a laugh when I carry it around but she's thanking me when it's up! Would highly recommend :)

I don't do many reviews but I really wanted to talk about this one...First thing I noticed about this umbrella is that it is very well made, in fact my friends and family have already remarked that I must had splashed out a good fortune on such a luxury product - I only paid £17.00.I think, that with care this umbrella will last a long time and will ultimately be better value than buying a cheaper one that only lasts a winter or two. There is just one thing to note - when closed the umbrella is 18 inches long (40 cm), as a man that's fine for me I can put it my messenger bag but I think women would find it difficult to find space for it in their smaller handbags.Overall I'm very pleased withthis product and would be more than happy to recommend it to others - I don't think they would be disappointed either.

Bought this for my son but I borrow it as well. Having got through loads of cheap umbrellas that have collapsed or torn in our wet and windy weather down here, I thought I'd go mad and try something more expensive. It's worth it. Although it's billed as "Men's", it's not gigantic and even though I'm 5' 2", I had no problem using it. It's strong and easy to operate and you can feel confident it won't fly away or disintegrate. I also like the "crook" handle which I find easier to hold. Admittedly it might not tuck away into a small handbag but that's the only minus point. It's well worth putting up with carrying it because it does such a good job when you need it. At £17.00 it is excellent value. It did take a bit longer than expected to arrive, but it was just before Christmas so no real issue.

I used to buy cheaper umbrellas, from £1 in the poundshop or M&S. They would always break and bend after a few uses, so I got this one as a better one. I've used the umbrella twice sofar on just regular rain, and I haven't tested it against the wind or other weather conditions.Pros:- Definitely a better make than the cheaper ones, although this was expected.- Looks and feels like a quality umbrella also in terms of the material and the handle. It feels safe to be under it in the rain.Cons:- The handle is steady and well attached to the main axis, but the top half of the umbrella seems to be loosely fitted as I feel it shaking when I hold it.- It is a little bigger than normal to fit in most bags, like my own sports backpack, so I have to carry it on my hand.Overall a good buy.

Having my umbrella blown inside out in the recent gales I decided to purchase a wind-proof replacement, and initially thought this one listed as storm-proof would be ideal. But now having used it for a while I have been very surprised to discover that just like the original umbrella it was meant to replace, it also turns inside out in light, not gale force. Contacted the seller who informed me that as there was no such thing as a wind-proof umbrella there was nothing they could do for me. Needless to say I felt that this was wrong, and contacted them again to complain, this time I was told to send the item back and they would return it to the manufactures. So from this seller I would like to advise anybody contemplating purchasing to take great care.

Having tried a number of umbrellas, I can honestly say this product is by far one of the best. It has withstood the horrid and torrential wind and rain of Scotland as well as the pitter patter drizzles of London. In both cases, it has kept me dry and happy with no issues whatsoever. Moreover, it looks very professional and feels sturdy. The service I received from Adorabilia was outstanding also. My queries and issues were answered and dealt with using no effort on my part. If all sellers were as efficient, considerate and professional as Adorabilia, the world would undoubtedly be a more splendid place to live in.

Although still fairly new, I have used the umbrella a few times now.I wanted one that would fit in the door pocket of our car and it does - just! When it is pouring down,I can get the umbrella ready to open inside the car,and then open the car door holding the umbrella out at arms length. A press of the button and the umbrella opens fully automatically! (Much better than others I have owned which needed several operations on my part before they were ready to use)I can get out of the car now keeping nice and dry under my excellent instant brolly!

My wife bought me one of these umbrellas a couple of years ago as a present. Unfortunately I left it in a pub one night and it was never seen again! I liked it so much that I was determined to replace it with the same model. After searching on the internet I was able to identify it as the Fulton Magnum. These umbrellas are small enough to carry but larger than minis that only protect your head and shoulders. As such they give good protection without the need lug around a golf sized one. They are also sturdily made and will stand a decent breeze.

Delivery was fast within 24 hours even though I am not a Prime member. Haven't used it in a gusty storm, but the ribs and frame are sturdier than the Fulton Stowaway Deluxe Black Unisex Umbrella. The wooden handle is comfortable to hold, but it also adds a bit of weight and clunkiness to the umbrella. Automated open mechanism is very smooth. The canopy stretches very wide when opened, but not sure how strong it can withstand due to this extra width. Would hope that it becomes fully automated when open and close.

I am pleased with the standard and quality of the material, the design and standard of manufacture. The umbrella is quite weighty which is not noticeable in use.I like the automatic operation which works effectively when the umbrella is opened and is pointing down.I would like the strap that holds the fabric tight to be longer, i.e. a bigger tag to hold when tightening the strap. A similar strap to hold the cover in place.Apart from the straps the umbrella is an excellent product and well worth buying.
