Quite simply, I am very pleased with this umbrella. It comes with a cover which has not been re-applied since it was removed shortly after I received the parcel and unwrapped it. It's just another step in the process and, to be honest, the small strap which keeps the unfurled umbrella wrapped up neatly is more than sufficient. As of the time of writing this review, the cover has found its way into the bottom kitchen drawer where it will probably live out its life in comfort alongside a plethora of other 'better hang onto that, just in case' items. The umbrella itself, though. Nice. There's a weight to it which simply adds to the sturdy feel, but not enough to make it unwieldy or tiresome on the arm when in use. Most likely this comes from the solid shaft and ribs which, once again, give a certain peace of mind that it won't give at the first strong gust of wind. In fact, I suspect that if you were to unfurl it during gale force winds you may find yourself on a Mary Poppins-esque journey with the umbrella as opposed to it simply folding inside out.The single button operation is very 'positive' and responsive. One press and POP - it's unfurled. Another press and another pop, the umbrella collapses in at the end of the extended shaft, requiring you to push it down to the handle in order to wrap the strap around to store it away. The canopy, when unfurled, is generous enough to provide for one person comfortably.Since purchase I've not experienced cause to use the umbrella as the weather has remained remarkably mild during my excursions into the outside world, but as I walk my daughter to school and back I do carry this with me now - just in case. I reserve the right to amend this review at a later date should I find any issues with it preventing me from being soaked, but if there are no revisions you may take it as a positive sign that the umbrella has done its job to keep me dry during these daily walks to and fro.In summary: Nice and sturdy feel with quick and positive open/close action.Very pleased to welcome this into my armoury against the onslaught of the British weather. :-)

Honestly, this is probably one of my better purchases. With this terrible weather in the UK, how could I not have an umbrella? My initial thoughts upon opening were that it looked nice and compact whilst also being relatively light. When actually lifting it, it had a small bit of weight compared to other "small" umbrella's I've had, but that doesn't bother me too much since it can be easily slipped into a bag and not be noticeable. The build is definitely stronger than most that I've owned. Majority of my umbrella purchases have been impulse ones from Poundland which broke within 3 seconds of opening in the wind... This umbrella seems way stronger since it has reinforced ribs and when opening and feeling them, they feel like a quality build. It seems that it will withstand winds but I will leave this open for reviewing once I have actually used it numerous times. It is quite large when opening which I was pleased to see. The one push button is a feature I am glad to see. It makes opening and closing the umbrella very straightforward - just press the button and it opens, press it again and push the umbrella down until it clicks to close it. Simple.Having bad experiences with previous, cheap umbrella's, this one seems strong and reliable so here's hoping this one will last me a long period of time.

Folding umbrellas are usually the sort of things that I would describe as "disposables". How many times have you walked past rubbish bins to see an umbrella stuffed in it? A lot of us just accept that our umbrella is rubbish and going to break, so we buy one from a cheap outlet knowing that our 99p investment is going to end up in a bin after a few uses. I do believe that TechRise have come to our aid here and produced a really good umbrella for a very reasonable price. This one feels good quality as soon as you open the packaging; the weight and general feel of it just shouts "quality". When it comes to using this umbrella, it is amazing how quickly it deploys into a really decent, over 1 metre, very good, well constructed item. Once you have finished with it, then comes the clever part. With another press of the button, the canopy automatically closes leaving you with just the pushing down of the central pole to do. The material on the canopy is treated so that it repels water really well meaning that when it folds itself up, it is virtually dry. Overall, I am very happy indeed with my purchase and I only regret not finding these sooner.

I absolutely love this umbrella.....I love gadgets and have always wanted a push button opening umbrella (I can now tick that off my bucket list)I have found this really useful for when getting in and out of cars as when it collapses it still stays extended so you are able to get in the car with the umbrella still shielding you from the elements and while holding it outside with on hand press the button and it instantly collapses (shake it a little) and then bring it into the car and push the handle back in ready for the next use. I used to have a golfing umbrella and as good as it was for covering me from the rain I was always worried that at any moment due to wind usually present when raining that it would in a comedy manner blow inside out with me having to fight it back to normal. In which time I had become wet, and on several occasions had to give up using it entirely. However with the magic of this amazing umbrella (being windproof) I really don't have to worry about this issue anymore and it looks super cool when putting up one click and poof its up!

NB I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review. This is a compact, portable umbrella by TechRise, and is on the upper end of size for a portable umbrella - I would say it is backpack or very large handbag sized - probably too large for a normal handbag. It is sturdy and well made, and has a button on the handle for automatic opening of the umbrella - this works very well. Once open, the umbrella is a nice size for one person, and has a good amount of 'overhang' to protect you from the rain. The handle is a good length, comfortably holding the umbrella at the right side of your head.I have not yet had the chance to test the umbrella in windy conditions so cannot comment on the 'Windproof'claims, but will update the review when I have more on this. The umbrella is easy to put down, but getting the outer cover on is slightly more tricky - although in fairness, not more so than most other umbrellas! All in all it is a neat little umbrella, and feels robust enough not to break at the faintest suggestion of a breeze.

Pros:-Quick opening and closing mechanism- The button which you press is very responsive and the umbrella pops open instantly which is fantastic because you no longer have to push it up yourself. Also when you press the same button, when the umbrella is open, it will close itself and thus only requiring you to push it back to the handle and putting away.-Build quality- By and large the build quality is very good, it comes in some nice waterproof 'packets' that it can be put in if you want to store it in your bag after a morning commute etc. The handle is well built but sometimes feel loose, this is not a big issue but something I noticed.-Size and weight- The umbrella is very light considering its size, you would expect it to be heavier! Also the umbrella is small when closed down thus fits in a work bag neatly. When opened the umbrella is big enough for one, if not two people. Fantastic.Cons:-Apart from the slightly loose feeling handle nothing!

When I first got this, I was immediately struck by its quality build. The handle is short, but very comfortable and the button operation is very smooth. The button itself is clearly well made and looks like it will survive lots of use.The umbrella opening action is great and the ribs are solidly built with good joints. They don't look like they will twist and buckle like many previous umbrellas I have had in the past. It certainly seems to be strong enough to cope with the windy rainy days we have here "Up north". The size of the umbrella once opened is quite large, maybe even large enough for two people. Having suffered many nips taking down other umbrellas in the past, the close action is a great idea. The umbrella collaspes, but you need to pull the last piece down to click towards the handle and this requires a bit of force. However, I think that this is a minor point to raise. For the price, I think its a great buy.

This is a great solidly-built umbrella, really good quality and much more sturdy than most I’ve purchased before, although it is a little more expensive to reflect that. It doesn’t budge in the wind and it’s a nice big size. The handle is comfortable with a good grip. The spring mechanism to open it is super-powerful - make sure you are in a clear space, or someone will lose an eye! It is also very handy being able to take the umbrella down with one hand by using the button, although you have to push very hard to collapse it down. I'm a little bit worried I might press the button by accident during use, although this hasn’t happened yet.The reason I’m giving it four stars not five is that it is quite heavy and large, not at all what I would call “super light-weight and tiny size”. I couldn’t really carry it in my handbag, so it will live in my car to be used when out and about in the rain.

Arrived very quickly with a neat cover and packaging. Used it a couple of times and it is indeed a very sturdy umbrella. It stays strong in windy areas and the umbrella is just big enough to cover two person (if you are rather small). This umbrella has an auto-folding feature and has proved to be very convenient - all you need to do is click the button on the handle, and the umbrella automatically opens. You can also press it a second time to close it. This means no more standing outside in the rain just to fold your umbrellas before going inside!Price is very reasonable for its quality, consider this as a great investment, whether it is go to to uni, or to work, simply slide this foldable umbrella in your bag and you're good to go!Overall, a really great product, very good quality. If you're in need of a strong umbrella in a windy area like London, definitely a must to go for this!

I am very impressed with the quality of this umbrella as some of the telescopic umbrellas I have had are very flimsy and made with poor quality fabric. But this one is very sturdy while being lightweight, and very easy to use. My husband is disabled and needs assistance in walking so I often only have one hand free so having to manually open an umbrella if it starts to rain is not practical. This one opens smoothly at the push of a button and we can both just fit under it and when you need to close it you push the same button. I find the handle just the right size to grip securely and it has a soft feel to it which makes it very comfortable to hold. This is far the best folding umbrella I have had but I have not used it in strong winds yet so can not comment yet on the statement that it is windproof but as umbrellas go I would certainly recommend it.

Techrise has a decent folding compact umbrella here. The main features, in my opinion, is that it reasonably windproof although this depends a lot on how strong the wind factor is. The button with the arrows on the handle, when pushed releases the tension in the mechanism to fully open up the umbrella and you're good to go. When you push the button once more, the canopy closes into its furled position, however you still have to push down from the top as the shaft does not drop down into its compacted folded self. It's just the weather at this time of year to have one of these handy. I keep mine in the car just in case. Oh and one more slight niggle (if that) is that the handle maybe should be larger in height, possibly double the height as that would help in gripping it better (maybe I just have large hands)!

This is a very well made umbrella, although it's a bit bigger and heavier than I expected. It's about 12 in long when fully folded, which is still handy for a briefcase or large handbag, but you know you're carrying it. The spring mechanism is very strong, which means you need to make sure no one's in the way when you open it! But it is this and the solid way it is made that leads you to think it's built to last. It stows away quite neatly, but needs a bit of force to fully retract. When open the span is over a metre, which is more than adequate. I haven't tested it in windy conditions yet, so we'll have to wait and see on that one, but the solid build suggests it will live up to the seller's claims. In all, good quality and good value but be aware of the larger size, weight and force needed to close it.

I'm amending my review after the excellent response I recieved from the customer service team at the seller end. They have replaced the product entirely and they were very keen to make things right. I have recieved teh new product and its working very well so far.The open / close mechanism will go bust within a year, and that will render the umbrella. In my case, the close button refused to work after the umbrella was already inflated. I have to say it served me well for a year, but the default was sudden and it just stopped working. there is no mechanism to close the umbrella if the open/ close button is busted. I had to eventually break the umbrella rails to be able to fold it and throw it away.the biggest disappointment is that I raised this with the seller and they have not even responded back.

Whilst you can pick up a cheaper travel umbrella the difference in quality for paying just a bit more really does show. This is sturdy, and a very good size - big enough to fully cover you, and let another person squeeze under too, but not so huge you become a nuisance to other people walking on the pavement. The push button opening/close is amazing, works smoothly, and is so much better than nipping your fingers in the catch like I always seem to on other umbrellas. The plain black design is exactly what I was looking for and is very smart. The one downside is that while it is sturdy it has still flipped inside out a couple of times when a big gust of wind has caught it.If you're likely to be using it in strong winds maybe opt for the 10 rib option rather than the 8 just to be sure.

Bought this for my daughter who has taken it to Hong Kong as she was caught out in their frequent torrential down pours last year....spent a bit more and it's an unknown brand to me......arrived quickly....looks nice quite heavy...reviews were all over the place for this. She can be quite heavy handed but reports that she is using it and she is happy with it and so far its still in one piece....which is quite an achievement for her,she also metioned the weight but is happy with it as it's a necessity out thereUpdate....suvived a category A typhoon with only one rib failing (when all the other umbrellas around here had totally failed within seconds)so did its job ....no umbrella is totally fail safe but this is quite a good one...or was would purchase again
