I was supplied with this product with a large discount for the purpose of testing, but this review reflects my own opinion. This umbrella comes with a free perfectly fitting black branded carry pouch, that has a nice quality feel, and shaped outer casing. This pouch has a really good zip, and a well made and stitched carry handle, which overall offers a great storage case for the umbrella when not in use. The umbrella itself is a very pleasant deep red colour, something that I would describe as a garnet or wine colour red. There is a further fabric sleeve cover for the umbrella inside the pouch, and even this reflects a quality product, with careful stitching a good durable material. The umbrella has a nice rubber feel handle, which gives a great grip, feeling soft and comfortable in the hand. The branding on the umbrella is not overt, but again adds to the overall appearance of quality and elegance, which the umbrella generally reflects. The umbrella feels strong, durable, and well made, whilst also being light and easy to carry. There is a good velcro fastening, and the buttons operate easily and have a quality feel.In terms of functionality, the umbrella works very well. The button to release the umbrella fully expands the parasol within seconds, and the action is very smooth and secure. This button also retracts the umbrella, which is a very nice feature, and not one which I have experienced before. This is very quick, easy and smooth. I can imagine this saving effort in attempts to retract the umbrella whilst in the middle of a downpour. For instance, going in and out of shops. We have been fortunate with weather this week, so I have been unable to test the umbrella during a storm or other poor weather conditions. However, I will update this review as soon as possible to indicate my opinion of the umbrella’s effectiveness in a less favourable environment.I try to be as honest and unbiased as possible when writing reviews, regardless of whether I receive the item as a free sample, or pay for it myself. I think that this umbrella is very high quality, easy to operate, and looks great for autumn. I love it!Edit - 20/09/16: On a trip to the Scottish Highlands the week before last, this umbrella came in very handy indeed! We had a lot of rainy weather, and a particularly bad day with very unseasonable high winds and heavy rain. Although the umbrella did invert once or twice on this day, it did not break, and remains fully functional and ready for another adventure!

This is a great lightweight but sturdy umbrella. I bought this so my girlfriend always had an umbrella stored in my car for whenever it is needed. The opening and closing mechanism is fantastic, all you do is push a button and it's open and ready to use. Press the button again it'll fold itself back in. This is perfect for short quick journey's where in the past my girlfriend would wait for the rain to stop or just make a run for it.It's only been used currently in a short sharp shower and the size of the canopy provided good protection from the rain. The material did it's job but I am not sure how it would fair in a long burst of heavy rain, only time will tell. The burgundy colour is nice (not what I would usually pick)and has been advantageous as it stands out when I was looking for my girlfriend. The best idea with this umbrella is the case. I can store this in my car with out the umbrella getting dusty, dirty or damaged. The case is originally so you don't get anything else wet which is another great feature.I like that this comes with a 100% money back guarantee, I look out for this when I buy products. I am sure this item will live in my car for many years ready to be used when the time is right.Disclaimer - I received this item at a discounted price for an honest and unbiased review.

This is a very strong umbrella which has survived some strong coastal winter gusts. It did turn inside out on a couple of occasions but went back the right way easily enough with no apparent damage. However, potential buyers should note the following:Firstly, the spring mechanism that opens the umbrella from its collapsed, closed state is extremely strong. Consequently, you need a fair amount of strength to close it again. There is a button in the handle that you press to open the umbrella. The handle extends to full length and the canopy opens with quite a lot of force. You press the button again and the canopy collapses and folds up, but you still need to push down hard on the top of the umbrella to concertina the handle.I do it by holding the end of the handle against my abdomen and pushing the top of the brolly towards me. And I'm by no means weak. Anyone with weak hands or wrists, e.g. with arthritis, may struggle.Secondly, if you press the button to collapse the canopy, e.g. when going into a shop, before you can open it out again you have to completely close it, which is a bit of a nuisance.

My burgundy/'plum' Pluvio umbrella is the answer to the UK's ever surprising weather. Kept at the ready in bag, briefcase, backpack or car it is automatically operated in a moment. I find the chunky handle comfortable to hold, which is a bonus if you have arthritis, while the canopy's wide diameter and height ensure there is no need to shrink oneself to fit. Closing is also at the touch of a button, with a hard surface helping to counterbalance my push to complete the process. In addition to the usual slip cover, a smart zipped shell case is provided so that once wet the umbrella, in its case, can protect the inside and other contents of your bag, briefcase, backpack or car storage.Other makes of umbrellas I have owned,of which there have been many, have been too small to be of use, collapsed in the feeblest breeze, let the rain through or the mechanism has failed. The original price suggests quality, the online discount is generous and the reviews I read were very positive, all of which influenced my choice.

It was a lovely umbrella (note the past tense). It wasn't too heavy, didn't blow inside out when it was windy and, although it did take a bit of effort to close, it worked fine. Didn't have any problems untik two weeks ago. It was raining, I was getting off the bus, reached for the umbrella which is usually at the side of my bag, tried to open it....it flew open, along with the open / close button and somewhere along the line I got a cut on my finger. The umbrella didn't open and I couldn't be bothered to fight with a broken umbrella. When I got home I realised the open / close button was missing (must have flown out when I opened it), and that was it. Disappointing really,as it seemed a nice umbrella and I loved the colour.***Update***Shortly after writing my review I was contacted by someone from the company and was given a replacement. And the replacement has perform as good as the Samsonite I had for many years. So far it’s about two years strong, long may it last!

This red umbrella is very sturdy so a bit heavy, although a good size when open and reasonably small when folded. There is a single push button (needs a bit of strength to push it, so probably not for arthritic hands) which opens the brolly and also closes it, although it still has to be pushed fully closed and then fastened with the usual cord. The zipped case is very handy, as one can put the folded, wet umbrella into it when entering a restaurant out of the rain, without the umbrella dripping everywhere as usually happens with other umbrellas. Once back home, the unzipped case can be left open to dry the inside, which dries quickly. The umbrella dries in the usual way by being opened and left to dry.I would have preferred another colour though (black or navy), rather than red - it is a brighter red than usual for a colour called burgundy.

Haven't used it yet but I tried opening and closing it which proved to be quite easy. It felt a bit like firing a revolver, not that I've ever tried, but once you get over the initial shock that it's only an umbrella, the rest is straight forward. I found the best way to collapse it down completely, is after closing the 'canopy', to stand the handle on a hard surface and push down completely. This is much easier to do than trying to push it down manually. It isn't lightweight, probably because of the "auto" mechanism, but I've carried heavier weights so am not too bothered. I've yet to find out how it works in a heavy downpour but as I only intend using it in this country and Europe and not a Far East typhoon,I am sure it will succeed and both of us will survive.

This umbrella is fantastic quality, classy and really sturdy. wjen I took it out the box my husband said disapprovingly "that looks expensive!". The only slight downside, is that the opening mechanism is so fast and furious that it feels like you are about to attack someone but I quite like that, think Charlie's Angel's. I actually bought this for my daughter who is 6 but it's not suitable for her (tipper for me!) Because you need a fair amount of strength you need to close it. Perfect t for the car, due to the sturdy compact case. I've been stopped in the street and had admiring comments everywhere I've been. I wish I could give it more stars for value.Guess what everyone's getting for Christmas!

This umbrella arrived in a hard zip case and appeared to be much larger than I expected which is good as I wanted a large umbrella but it also had to be a foldable model. So this was a pleasant surprise. It's well made and has got some additional springs in its frame which I guess is to do with a wind proof technology? This is something I have not seen before. It opens swiftly with a bang so if you buy one, make sure no one is standing near you. Here I am demonstrating how it opens. Hope it doesn't break quickly and lasts me a long time. And yes, I like its rich burgundy colour which to my mind is suitable for both men and women, so me and my other half can use it between the two of us.

I have this umbrella for nearly two months now. All I can say is, such a sturdy umbrella! Love the button for the umbrella to fold itself back up, so us ladies don't have to break our nails for it! It's definitely against strong wind, and also love the casing for the umbrella, whereas most other umbrella just provide a flimsy cover doesn't do the job to keep all the other contents from being wet by the umbrella. This is exactly what I wanted for, and with it feeling so sturdy and has such a good solid feel to it, I have no doubt it will last a long time too. My most favourite umbrella of all time!

I don't think that I have ever hoped for rain before but I so wanted to try out my new brolly. I was fed up with buying brollies that on the first outing turned constantly upwards always ending in the bin before I got home. This product is so well made, looks classy and comes in a lovely hard case. I chose the black brolly with raindrops print, which is very nice. The brolly can be put up by pressing the button, is a lovely size for two people is need be and protected me from the elements perfectly. Easy to put down too with just a push of the button again. Delighted!

I usually buy umbrellas from M&S because I like the quality but I received this YumSur one in the colour blue and I’ve been so impressed! The quality is by far better than my previous M&S umbrellas. It has an auto-open function which is very handy. A simple press of the button. It can easily fit two people underneath. There have been no leaks in the stitching or in the material. The black frame is very strong. It also comes with a matching blue sleeve and hard-shell case.A great umbrella. I’ll be purchasing more of these in the future rather M&S ones!

This came in a zip case with a soft cover. The umbrella opens with a bang (just press the button on the handle) and looks amazing with its black shiny top and bright red lining. The extra struts and double cover makes this one of the sturdiest umbrellas I've ever owned - it's already been tested in 40mph winds and it stood up pretty well. The only downside is the weight. This is quite a heavy umbrella and you know you have it in your bag but this feels like a small price to pay for its sturdiness.

I absolutely loved the style and colour of this umbrella. It’s not too heavy and comes in good packaging with a carry case. My only issue with it is despite the design seeming really sturdy, the umbrella is not windproof as stated. I tried it out the first day I received it and unfortunately it went inside out with the first gust of wind. Overall I do like this product but wouldn’t have been happy to spend so much if I knew it wouldn’t be able to withstand light wind.
