All my life I've had cheaper umbrellas and with no exceptions they have eventuality failed due to being turned inside out by the wind.As dog walker (35+ miles per week) and a parent of a football playing son, I spend hours outside in all weather. So, I decided to buy something a bit more durable and, yes, more expensive than before.The Technoflex is light, well - made and strong. After a few weeks use in often fairly windy conditions, it hasn't failed to impress. Whereas cheaper umbrellas struggle in the slightest breeze, this is fine. Apparently, if it does get turned inside out, it can be but back into shape. However, it would need to be strong wind for this to happen.

This brolly is light, smart looking and covers well. Rain doesnt seem to stick to it much either so it dries out quick. It is long enough to use when walking - i am 5ft 11. If you are a bit taller, you may find it a touch short for walking with. It definetly needs a handle strap. As a commuter, i get on and off public transport and need to access my wallet etc. Modern living. Having to shuffle the brolly under my arm to free my hands is annoying and wet - it is a brolly. A handle strap would make it a completely servicable item. I always want products to deliver and this brolly does in all other respects save the handle strap. Mind you, for some reason the perfectly fine black rubberised handle has white lines on it?

Fed up of replacing countless cheap umbrellas as they fell apart, I decided to invest in an item of improved substance. On selecting a new umbrella (mundane as it is) I conducted a fair amount of research. First off, I decided on a model designed by Fulton. Fulton has grown to become the largest supplier of umbrellas and rainwear accessories in the UK today. Its greatest claim to fame is its long-standing British heritage and to hold a Royal Warrant to Her Majesty The Queen.Initially I was looking at the Fulton "Stormshield"

Exactly as described in the photo, this umbrella works quite well and is big enough to keep 2 people dry. I needed 4 but I just ordered 3 of them because that was all they had in stock and I thought they would arrive in one shipment. Imagine my surprise when a huge box arrived and I opened it to find one (1) umbrella! A few days later I opened another huge box with one umbrella. On the third attempt the shipper figured out it didn't need a box and just wrapped it up. I still plan to order the 4th one soon.

This is a great umbrella for someone who is looking for something slightly bigger than your personal umbrella but not a full size golf umbrella. It seems do a decent job in windy conditions.The only thing that would make this umbrella better is if it automatically went up upon pressing the button. Right now you have to do that. I would love to have that feature as I use this umbrella when walking my dog so my hands are already full.

I ordered this umbrella after looking into several similar styles. I was bored of flimsy little things that turn inside out with the slightest breeze. So far this umbrella has been a success; It holds its own on a blustery day, big enough to keep you dry without being a pavement hog and it is sturdy but not too heavy, so you can still manage it with a bag of shopping and a dog straining on his lead! I would recommend it!

I have been buying this very umbrella for nearly 20 years now. I am on my 9th or 10th and appart from being delighted it’s still in production I am very happy with it. Had to knock a star of since they changed the handle from the striped lozenge shaped rubber to a more cumbersome design. Since it the primary contact point it’s important. Hopefully they will bring it back before I get to the 11th.

Since I found this brand many years ago I always now replace same again. Having said that my last one lasted 15years so I am not replacing that often!I walk my dogs every day 365 days a year so an umbrella is important for me, has to stand up to the job.Superb umbrella lightweight, easy to open, good cover for whole body, windproof. And price is excellent too.I highly recommend this brand.

Thankfully I haven't had to use the umbrella in recent weeks, but Fulton umbrellas are really sturdy and I'm very pleased with the quality. The biggest problem when it's windy and raining on golf courses is umbrellas inverting, and then usually breaking, so this one has all the features to protect it from doing so.

This is a good lightweight carbon umbrella slightly smaller than most Golf Umbrellas and so better for walking about town in. I did have one that broke in a high wind - so be careful as the carbon struts could fracture at the joint (metal ones bend). All in all it is a great town umbrella though.

Very nice Umbrella, bought mainly for golf but have used it plenty elsewhere. Surprisingly light but still strong - recommended!UPDATE October 2015: Umbrella still going strong so I'm surprised to see some of the negative reviews on its durability. Still works as well as it did on day one.

Having used this brolly twice to protect myself and good lady from our english weather i have found that it is a good size,affording both of us good coverage.The product goes up with a reassuring click.It looks and feels a premium device and is lightweight....bring on the rain!!

My second one of these, the previous one took some abuse over its 8 years and I decided time to replace like for like. Good coverage and excellent wind-resistance properties. Also very light. New version has button fasten rather than velcro which may prove more durable...

I looked in many shops in my country without any luck. It had to look just like this black umbrella. When I looked at Amazon UK I found more of the same kind. I just had to select one of them. The item I selected was a very good choice.
