This is quite an amazing little machine that fits nicely in the palm of your hand. First out the box you get the machine with a basic size length two metres of cable with fitted three pin plug, a selection sanding bands, a spare set of motor brushes (not many companies do this nowadays so full marks there), a clip-on dust collecting bag plus the instruction manual. Anybody used to a ‘big’ or regular size belt sanders will find nothing new here but to anybody new to using a belt sander it’s quite helpful. There was a belt fitted plus three others of different grades. In use it works well - I tried it out on some MDF and pine for a project I am working on presently and although it’s a bit noisy,it got into the corners whereby it would be impossible or a lot of fiddling about with another type of sander to get the same result, so full marks. The dust bag works okay but seems to slip off at odd times but I am making some minor adjustments there to cure it. In use the machine does seem to get a bit warm but considering the size of it, its to be expected as its a quarter or third of the power compared in my case, to my other two ‘full size’ sanders, but as this will only get used on small jobs the ‘big ‘uns’ would not be able to do, it will be used in a considerate manner as I am not one to maltreat my tools as in its ‘horses for courses’ being my motto unlike some folk I have met who have to test everything to destruction. The only down side is the belts or rather the sheer cost of them! - I can buy a pack of five full size belts of the same grits much cheaper and work okay, as they have done for the past few years, for my ‘full size’ machines when compared to the cost of a pack of three of these size belts for this machine I find off-putting - if anybody knows of any compatible belts that fit okay and decently priced , do let me know! Overall the machine is worth 5 stars because it is well made and quite robust (if a bit noisy at times) and comes with a 2 year warranty if registered on-line, but for the cost of the belts currently (reviewed November 2018) I give it a 4 star rating.

Very good sander, sands quickly and much better than the orbital sanders you can get. The first one that turned up seemed to have been second hand and had scratches all over it and bits missing. Amazon soon replaced it and the new one that turned up has been very good so far.Although it is a 'mini' sander, it is not possible to get it right in the edges of anything because the belt is positioned in the middle of the sander and does not go right to the edges. You then have the dust bag and also the little spout that gets in the way even though the dust bag may not be connected. The dust bag also does not stay on at all, there is a youtube video with a review on it and that guy super glued it on.So that is an option. Also, On the first test I caught the edge of the sand paper on a bit of metal which triggered it to start loosing bits of sand paper and whilst I left it running in mid air the whole sand paper start shooting off in shreds so that was a good laugh but not what I expected. When it works it works well. Early days yet but I will provide an update soon!I would also not worry about the heat, I had it running for a while and it did get hot but not anything I would worry about. Recommended so far!

Only used this a couple of times so far, and it's great. My other sander is a big heavy Makita, that requires either two-handed use, or to be fixed in position, whilst the workpiece is held and sanded. This is obviously best for sanding smaller stuff, and is handy for being suitable for weilding it singlehanded. It has a little dust bag, and is 'sealed' to help with longevity. Obviously the effectiveness of this remains to be seen, for me, as it's early days. But it feels good and solid and weighty enough in my hand, and does the required work. There are three belts supplied, in three different grades of grit. So you're good to go out of the box. A great handy little tool.UPDATE: Used this a bit more now,and downgraded my review by one star. There's a tracking adjustor, which I didn't mention before. It took a while to get this sander tracking right, before which the belts would move about annoyingly during sanding. Also, due to the small size, I wouldn't recommend trying to flatten areas much bigger than the baseplate. I did try this, and I found that it tended to scoop out a hollow in the workpiece. But for stuff like rough-shaping handles, this is very handy.

Was disappointed when first opened this up and discovered that although the belt is 40mm wide the sole plate is 50mm and by time get drive housing etc it is about 80mm wide (about same as my Bosch 3in sander !). I had bought to sand recesses on some panels that was about 45mm wide so wasn't viable. However, found there was plenty of slack in the belt / tensioner so got a piece of 6.7mm thick aluminium angle and cut it to a shape of a number 1 so it hooks on the leading edge of sole plate under & raising the belt so gave me the clearance I needed to get the job done (chamfered the leading and trailing edges of the aluminium plate a bit, alignment wheel adjustment still works fine). As with most Evolution kit it is good value for what you get but not high quality, so I've given it the stars for value not for design or expected durability. Good & comfortable one handed use. Found some 303 x 40mm spare belts at sensible price on the bay.

Saw this in a shop and got it on a whim for a job I was doing at the time. The good;- Sands very very fast- Easy to use- Leaves a good finish- Easy to change/align belt- Fits into small spacesThe not so good;- Gets VERY HOT when using for more than 10 mins at a time- Can get "sanding tracks" if you don't keep even pressure and movement goingOverall, I am very happy with the job it does. I sanded a lot of tanalised timber for a garden project and it did a sterling job. It shifts material much faster than a finishing sander or "mouse" type device. The belt seems to be extremely hard wearing. I have probably had the sander going for over three hours with the same belt and no signs of it wearingout just yet.Would have been 5 stars if the handle didn't get quite so hot that you have to turn it off to let it cool down.

For what it is, it is great. This is a tool that you must put into perspective, for the price you are getting a small belt sander. It fits in places other sanders will not, it is light and is easily held in one hand. At 280W it is not going to sand a whole floor! For those little jobs when you want to sand or grind something down "now" this will do it. I keep it on the workbench ready for use. I have other sanders for the big jobs. Some have complained it gets too hot, I do not use it long enough for this to happen. So to sum up this is a light duty, small, handy sander.......not a heavy duty jack of all trades replacement for a £300 Makita!

Hi. My sander arrived today, two days earliy.I only have the use of one hand.I have a full size belt sander but you need two hands to use one of them or it pulls you across the room, I had to turn it into a stationary belt sander, it works well like that.I still needed a belt sander. I saw this by accident looking for something else.I went straight onto YouTube and saw it in action. Wow great, just what I was looking for. This sander is about a quarter of the size of a normal one. As soon as I turned it on an sanded a piece of scrap wood I was amazed at how powerful it was.Fits in one hand easy.I would recommend this to anyone.

Brilliant little machine, Other reviewers have mentioned the heat problem which I have not found to be a major restriction though I only tend to use this machine in short bursts as I have a heavy duty sander for heavy duty tasks, ,But for smoothing corners and quick edging jobs its unbeatable and I use it in preference to my big sander purely because of its size and ease of use, , Just remember its a MINI sander for MINI jobs, ,If Your sanding a whole door, Floor or window frame then perhaps You should look at bigger machines, but for general sanding in small places its the best I have found,

Feels heavy and solid quality.Does the job that I expected it to do and with a suitable, comfortable amount of power for a small tool. However, I found that the handle isn't the most ergonomic for using in excess of ten mins. It is relatively heavy and the handle isn't easy to grab,so it makes my hand muscles ache after a while. It's noisy. I bought some simple ear plugs for using this. The dust collector on mine doesn't fix on very strongly and falls off when in use.I strongly recommend using a dust mask with this. It's made a very tidy finish on a garden bench I made. Very good price.

I bought this maybe 2 years ago now when it was dearer.I use it in the boat building industry and fid it a very effective machine I was purchasing my belts fro too station but Tey have now ceased to stock them however they are easily available elsewhere .With regards to the tool getting hot,I may say remember to let the tool do the work as pressing down on the wood will!!Make it hot.I even let other center b/builder companions use it.Something I never do with other tools. Now at this price m sure they will be able to purchase one for themselves (tim chris Bert dave ?)

This is a handy little sander.A smaller palm style sander but instead of being orbital or a mouse its a belt sander.very handy. Construction seems ok but the plastics look cheap, such is reflected in the price I guess. However in use the sander is surprisingly powerful and works well. Perfect for doing our garden table or smaller stretches of straight wood.Everything you need in the box. 3 sanding belts a dust bag etcShould it break easily I will update the review but so far for now seems to be working well

Although it's advertised as one handed it can jump around so I was trying to use it two handed to keep it steady. This is tricky without sanding your fingers. It won't get into quite such narrow spaces as I was hoping because of the bulky mechanism on one side of the belt. It arrived quickly. I hope the availability of spare belts will continue well into the future; not just cheap poor quality belts that fly apart easily like some power file belts and some belt sander belts I have used. It's certainly noisy.

This is a neat and very useful tool. Sadly, it is designed to only take 40x303 belts rather than the standard 40x305. The difference is enough to cause it to slip and makes it useless. You can buy the correct belts- at 3 times the price of quality 40x305 belts.Ten belts cost more than the machine! Must be deliberate- a bit like cheap printers and expensive ink. Avoid unless you like being taken. NEW EDIT - it can be fixed! A few turns of masking tape around the front roller and 305mm belts work just fine.

I bought this item to replace like for like onethat I have had for a number of years. The old one served me well during the course of a big house restoration but alas it finally stopped working. On a couple of occasions with the old one I had to take the switch out to clean the dust out as it had filled up and prevented it from working. Other than that I have found it an invaluable part of my tool box and hope that this replacement serves just as well

Excellent small belt sander, can easily be used with a single hand. Gets a bit warm if used for long. Clearly made for the smaller jobs. I have not yet tried to get replacement belts, as I use a 'Rubber block' to de-clog the belts which makes them last for ages. I am also fortunate to have a larger belt sander, so this ones use is limited to the jobs for which its size and handiness seems designed and it is well suited.
