I know a scaffolder. Give him an anvil and a feather, he will breack the anvil with the feather. The one thing he can't seem to breack is Makita tools, and belive me he tries!With more voltage being available 18 volt tools are coming down in price . For a few extra quid you can get Mikita, don't bother with Bargain Tools, you pay three times, first when you buy it, second when you have to replace it, third you pay for replacment part when a cheap tool screws up the bit you were working on.I had a bit of problem getting battries, the Mikta battries are not interchangable bettween tools, the one downside, but they and a decent charger are available for Amazon . That's the only reason I didn't give five stars.

This is a great bit of kit. Sturdy, feels good and well made. As the others have said, it really drinks the juice! I am running it on 5amps and it needs all of that I would say. However, I only use a grinder occasionally and normally when I just need a quick cut so it cerainly saves all the faff of having to plug a mains one in.This was a bit of a treat and luxury for me as I just brought it to add to other Makita stuff....and glad I have for all those annoying jobs where you can just wizz away easily. Just watch the battery power though. However, as said, nice quality and I am pleased.

For the amount I use it, I am not sure what extras you get in actual performance from buying the more expensive model. On the other hand when I bought a drill I got the best brushless model because I use drills almost every day. This grinder I use once a month so cannot justify spending more. In use with a cutting disk I have cut bolts and steel round bar 20mm in diameter. It cut out once where I was pushing it too hard. It cut through my old exhaust very easily. For the use I put it to I would totally buy again.

All of my best power tools are Makita - no exceptions, and recently added this to my tool store.Should you require the genuine Makita case for this particular tool. it is Makita's 141257-5 Carry Case. Be aware that some tool-dedicated cases are evidently going obsolete and getting harder to find - giving way to Makita's stackable cases customisable with liner inserts. I managed to source mine with a back-order from "Lawson HIS", received just several days later.

Good grinder, does the job of cutting metal containment well, I will have to admit that the yellow ones are better made with more features like a quick release guard and a better handle. It is quite large in the hand and a colleague mentioned it looked like a large adult toy.The BL version is a lot better but this does the job nicely without being too flashy, Ive always had Makita tools and they arent as well made as they used to be but still up to the job.

Its a good bit of kit but it sucks the battery dry in no time at all4AH battery on full charge lasted me about 8 to 10 mins grinding out mortar from a brick wallFor quick jobs two charged batteries will get you there.I have Four 4ah packs and two charge units and the constantswitch over got so tedious I went back to my mains powered grinder to finish the job.I don't regret the purchase though

Excellent tool. Light enough for one handed operation. Excellent quality as expected from makita.My only gripe is that a 4ah battery doesn't last long enough, but I suppose that's what you get for not buying Brushless.Either way, I'll keep using it when I need it on jobs, I'll just have to keep changing batteries.

Well pleased, powerful little tool. Unlike many other cordless tools, this one actually performs well. Worth investing in a higher strength battery as does use significant power (4ah+) Comes with a grinding disc so need to buy cutting discs extra.Overall a very satisfactory purchase and can well recommend

How we have all been waiting for this battery powered revolution. I believe Makita make some of the best battery powered tools around and this angle grinder is no exception. It feels good to use. It feels safe to use. The usual Makita build quality.

Excellent product with cut off overload protection. Not a heavy duty angle grinder but great for portability. I suggest buying two or more batteries for continuous use. Quite strong at cutting as long as you don't continuously overload it.

Fantastic Brushless bit of kit that is a mile quieter than my mains supplied on. Wish I'd of bought one before now. Automatically adjust the torque on applied pressure. Used mostly with a metal slitting disk it slices thro metal with ease.

I use this drill 3 times a week for about some months now and it still works well.This angle grinder is light and perfect for little cuts. Delivery was fast. So the perfect tool for handyman like me, but maybe not for a great pro!

Ordered this item on a Wednesday evening and it arrived on Friday morning. A nice piece of kit. Quieter than the electric versions and so handy. Doesn't run for long on a 3ah battery but will go for a while on a 4 or 5 ah.

Great little grinder payed for its self in the first day. So much easier then getting all the extension leads out. I’ve a 4amp battery and it works great really please I bought it and a bargain price of £75

Marita Marita well that is all I will buy last forever does as it should I have had my tools for years same old battery's still going strong still as good as new apart from normals work where on it thanks
