I've owned this sander now for some time and have used it for numerous jobs and it's been brilliant, it comes supplied in a decent case with 2 sanding plates and a useful tool for positioning the sanding discs (if I remember correctly it only came with one sanding disc but I purchased various grades at the same time) which stick to the sander really well, when the disc is ready for replacement you still have to give it a good tug to remove it. The unit only weighs 1.5kg so it feels light when you are using it, it has variable speeds and I've used it to strip paint, wood stain and varnish and it's tackled all of the jobs with ease, I don't use the microfilter that is supplied,it's small so fills to quickly for my liking and I've found that attaching it to a vacuum cleaner means there's much less dust when I use it, the drawback is that it's very loud when attached to the particular vacuum that I use so ear protection is a must, I tend to use this in conjunction with a detail sander as it can't get into tight corners but I do the bulk of the work with this as it's fast and efficient and then just get the bits I can't reach after. I would definitely buy one of these again (hopefully I won't need to for a long time, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.I would appreciate if you marked this review as helpful or not so that I can improve my future reviews

A very good product in my opinion. Has a fair amount of power, enough for most jobs in the home, is comfortable on the hands (vibration wise, in fact quite 'smooth'. I use industrial air driven sanders at work and the vibration can be awful, not the case with this sander), and the variable speed is very useful. I can't comment on the life of the Velcro pad as I have bought an intermediate pad which you put on and leave on the sander, and then the sanding discs attach to that, therefore extending the life of the pad on the machine (in fact it'll last almost forever). I suggest you do the same. The storage box is fine in my opinion, might not live up to life in a van, but is more than adequate for life in the shed. The dust collection box works well, but yes, it does fill up quite quickly- but its supposed to isn't it?! it is quite stiff to open, but again I would rather that than a sloppy fit, and I'm sure over a long life it'll ease somewhat so best to start off tight. Having said that when I use it in the house I'll connect the hoover and not use the box. All in all I think this is a great buy, and I am very happy with it.

Lots of people on here complaining about the disk coming off after 5 or 10 minutes which is true but in my experience the same goes for any random orbit sander. Best advice is to not remove the paper until you have done all your sanding with that particular grit because once you peel it off then that disk is never going back on. Also using a slightly lower speed can help and the tool remains effective. Don't lean too hard either or you will burn out the hoop and loop pad from the friction. Basically let the tool do the job. Luckily these disks are cheap and cheerful from Tool Station - around £1.30 for 10 - do NOT pay B&Q prices for sand paper. The pads can be kept for hand sanding as the paper always greatly outlasts the hook and loop. Some dust does go in the air as expected but I was really impressed with how much this collected!Build quality feels great, nice bit of weight to it, should last a good few years. This model also comes with a hard case which is handy.

Great orbital sander. Using it to refurbush our 1930s house. The dust extraction filter system is less than useless and I predict was only designed as a baffler/muffler to get inside some noise restriction limit for domestic use. Because when hooked up to a vacumm extractor the noise increases lots!I did lots of research first into hooking it up a Henry vacuum cleaner. The dust outlet/exhast port has a 31mm diameter O-ring and measures 29mm in diameter. The port is round unlike the recommended Bosch adapter for other models of sander. Any universal stepped adapter or 3D printed adapter allows connection to the 36.5mm outer and 31.5mm inner diameter Henry tube. However I found even just holding the Henry hose in place, significantly reduced the expeled dust and was way better than with the standard filter system attached. But I recommend getting any universal stepped adapter and cutting to size.

I was impressed when the sander arrived. Excellent quality case - properly solid and simple to use. The instructions are clear and simple - similar to the product itself. I have used this so far with 40 x mixed grit anding discs for Bosch PEX 220/300. The sander was easy to use - no need for strong pressure and compared to my old sander fitting the velcro back sanding discs was simple. I was sanding down some polyfilla that I had been over generous with. It was simple and quick to get a smooth finish. The only reason that I didn't give this five stars was the dust collector. This did collect some dust but frankly a negligible amount - most it just flew around all over the place!Looking at reviews of comparable items this does seem to be a typical problem so I'd still thoroughly recommend this sander but just beware that you're probably going to need to do quite a lot of hoovering afterwards!

When my 20+ yr old B&D 1/3 sander started playing up I did LOTS of research as to what to replace it with. The PEX300 came up on a Lightning Deal at a price to good to turn down so it was duly purchased.Took note of other reviews & bought decent branded discs (Makita as they were cheaper than Bosch) rather than cheap Chinese specials, not had any issues at all.Only used internally once, used an offcut of bicycle inner tube to connect to vacuum hose but it was a faff & didn't really work brilliantly. Was great on my fascias, the dust collector is of limited use but I suspect they're all the same in that respect.Would have loved the 400 with the additional handle & a bit more power but this works just fine & for the price,is spot on!Need to have a go at polishing the car with it, surprised at the cost of the Bosch pads though!

I spent ages looking at different makes/models of orbital sander and eventually bought this one. It was reduced by £10 when I did make the purchase so made it even better value. It feels pretty solid and I would say having the adjustable speed is a must. Don't expect miracles from the dust collector, it does work to a point, but if your doing major sanding work inside the house, it will get dusty! The sander box is a little fiddly to get on and off, and depending what you're sanding, it can catch on objects and fall off. I found the sanding discs are vey good and don't fall/spin off as long as you use Bosch branded discs. However, from my experience, this is not the case if you buy cheaper non Bosch ones,so don't waste money on those. In summary, this is a great sander. The above niggles should not put you off.

It is a good sander but not dust free. I am sure the boffins at Bosch under lab conditions with a perfectly flat surface to sand and the precise amount of pressure can make it dust free but in the real world even using Bosch mesh sanding discs you still get dust. A lot less than other sanders I have used but dust all the same. Other reviews have said that getting the dust collector apart is impossible, it is tight but will come apart. Another review says that dust escapes fro m the sides of the collector, if you wipe the dust collector every time you empty it reduces this and I found using a wet wipe to clean the joint and the o ring where the collector joins the sander every time I emptiedit made putting it all back together loads more easily.

I was caught between buying this model and yet another Bosch PEX 220.Having already had two PEX 220 with 2 years, both of which had seized up in the same way (the oscillating plate stop oscillating and just spins around).I thought having a variable speed would help stop the oscillating plate from seizing.I found the variable speed very useful, unfortunately it is located in a position where it always gets knocked, therefore not a good option.Instead this time the sliding On/Off switch has seized, making it almost impossible to switch on. The PEX 220 has a push rocker switch which is much easier to operate. This is now my third Bosch orbital sander, and I had the hindsight to take out the 3 years insurance.

I purchased this sander to remove the paint on the outside of my small bungalow. I bought the Bosch sanders also as reviewers said these were the best. On first use I was impressed by the power to remove the paint, it is very comfortable to hold and not as loud as an older sander I had. I read a few reviews regarding problems with the dust bag but this has not been an issue for me as I will only use it outside, although I still wear a mask. I have at the moment removed all the paint on one side of the bungalow which took half a day but most importantly it was easy.

I've not used this for anything big yet but for the things I have used it on, I have been very impressed. It's quieter than I was expecting, has less vibration than a smaller sander I was using, which means no more numb hands and the dust extraction is quite good. I'm still going to look at a way of connecting to a dedicated dust extractor but am pleased with how it performs. It would have been nice to find a few more sanding pads in the box for the price but this is only a gripe, not a negative about the product. All in all, very happy with the purchase.

I ordered this sander yesterday in the Amazon prime deals deal, what a bargain. It arrived just before lunch time today and I have been using it all afternoon. It's a powerful sander , looks strong & robust, with hardly any vibration on the hand, in fact I feel as though I'm just ironing whilst using it. It comes in a good strong Bosch case which is very useful & unexpected for the price. You do only get one sanding sheet in the box so I have ordered more in preparation. I would highly recommend it if you are in need of a new power tool.

My hobby is woodwork. I have made allsorts, from double wardrobes on chests, cabinets to settles. At the moment I am in the process of making solid oak doors for every internal door in the house and of course a good I repeat good random orbit sander is vital. This is my second Bosch sander as I wore the last one out, but it really did some work to do that. I have since repaired it and now use it for backup.Yes they are a bit more expensive but they are worth it. Will never get another cheap one as they just don't last.

Used this to sand the plaster on my bathroom after some repair work to the plaster. The dust collector is good but not perfect (always wear a dust mask!). Looking at previous reviews on the paper not sticking to the pad but I found that you'll need to make sure the velcro is clear of dust or the sandpaper will keep falling off. Basically, prep it correctly with care and it should work fine. Maybe they could have added a fixing cap to the centre to resolve the issue.

Love this one.Works really well, doesnt seem to overheat and the quick attachment tool for the discs is easy and fast to use.I havent actually used their filter as I tend to stick my dust extraction hose directly instead.I find it very easy to use for a medium period (but I wear gloves to dampen the slight vibrations). Its powerful enough to remove a sharp edge without a problem and can even smooth out rough wood if you take the time.A very good purchase
