Having brought a faded red vauxhall for my son i knew i was in for a hard slog weekend with the T-Cut! As this was such a good price I purchased it to hopefully make the job a little easier. It arrived extremely quickly from Amazon, usual great service. Was given a great tip from a bodyshop friend to wash the car and leave it wet when starting to polish. I used a fine compound polish (T-Cut just as good)making sure the panel I polished was very wet. The machine glided well and after about 2-3 minutes of polishing per panel the result was brilliant. The whole car took about 2 hours, some manual polishing needed where the machine wont reach, then another couple of hours to wax the car and clean up.The car looks like new! Very pleased. Will need to buy new polishing bonnets as the ones supplied are the worse for wear after.Couple of tips. The polisher vibrates quite a lot but dont apply to much pressure to try and compensate, let it do the work (the pins and needles in your hands soon goes!!!). The polish, especially used wet, gets everywhere, so be prepared to clean up inside door shuts, bonnet etc, but small price to pay for the hours saved. Cover any black trims the polisher may come into contact with with masking tape to stop them going white.

I bought an ex-fleet Transit van from BT (don't ask...) to transport furniture across Europe. The BT Fleet transfers were obviously removed prior to delivery but the difference in finish between the areas which had been exposed to the weather and those protected by the transfers was obvious. After two goings over with T-cut and two applications of Autoglym the results were spectacular. This polisher made the job of treating such an acreage of paintwork much easier. The only downside was that the vibration became very uncomfortable after a period of time, and I therefore did the work in 10 minute bursts, or a panel at a time. For the money this is an excellent tool and the vibration issue is one which is common to all polishers of this type.It is not a criticism of this unit in isolation.I would also note that other companies import the same basic polisher into the UK but do not offer the same level of warranty (3 years) as Silverline. For the money this is a steal.Note - make sure you keep the application bonnets clean, frequently washed, and free from dust an grit!

I have just painted the bonnet of my car I bought new in 2006, I am not a bodywork painter or a mechanic but did look at MANY videos on youtube. After rubbing down by hand with wet and dry 300/400/500/800/1000/2000/4000 I wanted to get one final smooth surface for a final coat, then polish before lacquer.1. Yes it vibrates, it is SUPPOSED TO, it IS a RANDOM orbital polisher as it clearly states, this stops you getting swirls in the polish or paint.2. People have complained that it stops if you press on it, DON'T PRESS ON IT that is NOT how to use it. Apply LIGHT pressure, it is a POLISHER not an orbital sander.3. Don't Complain about the vibration it HAS to have that. Just put bubble wrap round the handles.See photograph, free and works better than any vibration damping £20 glovesIt is what it is, it WORKS, use it with a fine cutter such as T cut metallic or AutoGlym colour restorer

I need to look at this in parts, first the polisher itself. 5* all day long. Is it the best polisher available on the market.... no, but for the price I wasnt expecting that. However it does a great job, and i have every expectation it will last a lifetime based on how much i will be using it, I'm not a professional detailer after all.Onto the pads which are included... 2* review here. Whilst they physically work. On first use, the stitching ripped on both of them, meaning I was required to purchase replacements after just 1 use.Again for the price I wasnt expecting top quality, and I knew I would be needing to replace soon, just not as soon as I have! A little disappointing on that front. All that said, for the price, speed of delivery and good quality of the actual polisher, I would definitely recommend this product.Read full review...

I started with a rather daggy looking black 06 astra sri, 2.0t.After the usual prep I used meguiars 205 with a rotary (no need for 101 as the paint seems pretty soft). Despite using much care there was still light holograming which I knew would bother me, so, after the first panel, i orderd the silverline orbital as cheap punt. The unit is large, quite light and vibrates A LOT.The tequnique I used was to start the rotary with megs 205 at 900rpm, speed up to 1500rpm (correcting phase) then instead of changing back down to 900 for a light pass i went over with the pre spritzed orbital.Great results! No hologram!I wouldn't use this as my only tool for paint correction but as a post rotary finisher it did a great job.Was going to splash out on a das-6 pro but now there is no need.

I ordered this polisher because I had found a rotary machine in my hands was not producing good results. I'm working on a home-resprayed car. The polisher seems reasonably rugged and, used with the Kent brand polishing pads, favourably reviewed elsewhere, it has done a great job, bringing up a fine shine to the new paintwork.I have two unfavourable comments. The first is that the mains lead is very short (a growing problem with electrical goods as the price of cables seems to be rising out of hand). This caused several pulled cable problems and was a real nuisance in practice. The second is that the pressure needed to activate the switch is very light indeed.I see this as a minor safety hazard: it's far too easy to switch on the polisher unintentionally.

As a detailing enthusiast, I was searching for an affordable orbital polisher since I didn't need one of those fancy professional ones. I ended up with this. I bought it completely aware of its limitations. Out-of-the box, it is rather useless for cutting/polishing. May save you loads of time during the waxing process due to the size of the bonnet though. What I did was adapting a special home made plate with a velcro base where I can attach all sorts of polishing bonnets and now this polisher is very close to a professional one. I even find it better to handle. Unfortunately there is no speed adjust, but for the price, I cannot complain.

This machine is great. Already polished the car, very quickly. Now just polished 60sq meters of oiled oak floor. Normally takes me 2 days did it in half a day and much better finish than doing by hand. I tie wrapped a long handle bush to it so I didn't have to bend down. I read a few bad reviews on this product saying polishing bonnet flys off, well don't turn it on when it's not on a surface. Also someone said the machine stops when you put pressure firstly you shouldn't put pressure on when polishing, I tried and I couldn't stop the machine. For the price it's great value, only thing is lead could do with been longer (easy job to do)

First I should mention that this isn't being used to polish cars. I bought it in the hope that it would make polishing the brass kick plates on the doors at church quicker and it worked a treat. The quality of the cloths is pretty rubbish - one broke as I was putting it on for the first time - but it was easy enough to fix with a sewing machine. The polisher itself, however, is great. It has already more than paid for itself just in terms of the amount of time it's saved me and gives a much better finish than I was getting by hand.

This is a good product. I purchased it with the Kent eight piece buffer set. Don't take any notice of the bad reviews its just people expecting too much. It only cost £20 and for that money its brilliant. Did a cracking job on my car bonnet never had it so smooth. I would recommend the additional buffer foam set though as its so cheap anyway and gives you more options. My only minor gripe is the power cable isn't long enough but its still useable and like I mentioned earlier its only £20 !!! Highly recommend this product!!!!!!!!!!

When it arrived, I was impressed with the size and weight for the money you pay. The only problem I had was putting the polish cover on. Like trying to fit into clothes that are two sizes too small. I finally got it on and turned it on. Amazed to see the cover flying through the air and landing two door down. But when I finally got it to fit properly, it worked very well. Teach me to put things together properly.I recommend it.

This is my first car polisher so my view may be biased. It did a cracking job of removing swirls but whilst I was using it I found the vibration through my hand was numbing. I've only used it on the bonnet and am now ready to tackle the sides of the car. I think it will feel very heavy when I do this as the machine itself is quite heavy and when it oscillates you really feel it.

Bought this to T-Cut my car. Did the job in a fraction of the time, with no streaks, without the pain. Very little pressure needed, you just let the device do the work (too much pressure and you could easily burn the motor on this thing out, I'd imagine).Instead of taking hours of elbow grease, it took about half an hour to sort the whole car.

A very inexpensive bit of kit which does a really fine job. I bought mine to polish up some waxed wooden furniture that I had made. This buffer comes with a couple of cloths and is ideal for home privy. I haven’t polished a vehicle yet so can’t comment on it’s suitability for that.Overall a good item and good value.

Pleased with this product but it was bigger than I expected no complaints about the machine but the polishing cloths that come with it are useless as I have found out if you don't tie it right they fly off.you can get these cheap enough on eBay and amazon though.and I would go for the elasticated ones.
