Yep, its a lock. It locks things up. Like bikes! yep, that's what I use it for. I added some padding in the form of cycling grip tape to the curved part and wrapped it in electrical tape. Just wasn't sure that the coating on there already wouldn't chip paint. And considering that the bike lock holder isn't great... (it slides down and after a few bike rides) I'm glad I did. Still, I had a dream that someone tried to steal my bike and the lock prevented that, so that means absolutely nothing, right?

Ok - I cannot claim this has stood up to a bunch of thieves. I have no idea. I have not used it that much, but as expected it is very well built. It is somewhat heavy, but simply put light weight = less protection. Very impressive keys - they clearly learned after the bic pen crisis. For me, this is the ideal size as far as length. I have no idea how some can use the really short (but super secure) U locks.

Living in the Netherlands close to the North Sea where it rains a lot, having a cover over the lock to keep the water out was a big plus. Last lock jammed up due to rust probably. Hoping this lasts more than two years.

Best of the 3 that I’ve bought. Knocking off a star for the price, which is a bit much, but otherwise, the length is right, it’s not too heavy, and is generally pretty user friendly.

Lock seems to be pretty secure for it's rating. The U bar is nice because it gives a little more length for locking your bike to a bar or fence

It seems great in every way except that it takes on my bike. They could make the bike hanger hold the shackle and bar steady to make it better

I don't worry about my bike while I'm at work because of this new lock. It is very well made and very easy to use. I highly recommend it.

The ability to secure my bike's front wheel to the rack and through frame. I use the New York lock to secure the rear wheel to the rack.

Very solid lock. Not too heavy or large but feels secure. Easy to lock/unlock. Large enough to secure to sign pole thru seat stays.
