I'm a beginner bicyclist with a Diamondback Edgewood Hybrid 2015. I had my bike built by a sporting goods store for free, so I really can't complain about a few out of spec alignments. In particular, the derailleur was skidding against the crank covering at 3rd gear so I needed to make a simple adjustment. Originally I bought a set of cheap hex wrenches so I could pick and choose exact sizes I needed to go on a key chain. I found that trying to use a basic allen key was really inconvenient with bikes. There'd be many tight spaces where I'd have to constantly remove and reinsert the wrench to continue turning. This Topeak mini 9-function Bicycle Tool not only has the right sizes, but has a much needed pivot point to make turning in tight spaces much easier. With a regular allen key, there are many times when you can only turn a bolt half way before hitting the bike frame, then you need to remove and reinsert at the beginning position to loosen/tighten further. With Topeak tool, you never have to reinsert. Simply flip around 180 degrees when you can't turn anymore, then continue turning and repeat. Or simply use it as a straight tool like a screw driver. Great little investment and comes with a nylon velcro-secured holster with belt attachment (I attach it to velcro straps from my front bike bag). I'd consider this more versatile than a bike tool. Ironically, I still needed a separate allen key to loosen the tools hinges in order to use the allen keys!

I bought this to replace a slightly larger, though less functional Parks multitool that was starting to fall apart. Compared to the Parks tool, this is smaller, lighter, more functional (it has a screwdriver), and easier to use. I always had a really hard time opening the Parks tool and I normally had to use a coin to lever the first tool out. I don't have that problem with the Topeak - its design makes it easier to get open.I like the selection of tools too - although I'm pretty sure I have no use for that star shapped tool - what the heck is that for? I would have prefered a flat-blade screwdriver instead of the star tool.If anyone knows where I'm likely to find a use for the star tool on a road bike please let me know.It comes in a small case which is awesome (even has a belt loop). Whenever I pulled the Parks tool out of my saddlebag it would grab everything it could on the way out and I would end up spilling the contents of the saddlebag all over the road. The Topeak case solves that problem nicely. This is a very basic tool. You will still need a chain tool and a spoke wrench at a minimum unless you really like long walks home.Interestingly I'm starting to see the Topeak symbol all over my bike lately. I think I'm starting to like that company. They made my toolset, pump, and saddlebag. LOL - hadn't noticed before.

This tool is a must-have biking companion. With it you'll be able to adjust your seat, handlebars, and gears, at least. It's small, has just what you need, and fits snugly in its own carrying case. It takes up less room than most tire levers in your bag/pocket. It's robust and can take a drop (or 20) onto the asphalt.A friend recommended I pick up this awesome little tool when I bought my first bike. It lived in my bike bag and was the first bike tool I ever owned (I now am a bike mechanic, so I have lots of tools). When my roommate bought her first bike, I loaned mine to her so she could adjust her seat. She wouldn't give it back. So I bought another one and it too was "gifted" to another riding companion. When I went to the store to buy my third one, another friend came with me and bought one for himself (I refused to give him mine, though he did try). I recently bought my mother a bike and guess what was the first thing in her saddlebag? You guessed it, the Topeak Mini 9. This last one I purchased for myself, to go in the saddle bag of my 2nd bike, mainly because I got tired of forgetting to switch the bag over.

Very awesome little tool! I am glad I purchased this little thing. Just after purchasing I was out riding with my wife and my brother in-law we were about 10 miles from anything and my brother in-laws handlebars came loose and he couldn't ride. Luckily I had just recieved this little baby. I tightened his handlebars no problem and we went on our way. I am very pleased with this product and I'm glad to know I have it if I ever need it. Side note: I also own a "fuel belt" bike bag and when I got this little tool I wasn't sure how I was going to take it with me when I was riding. The tool comes with a little carrying bag that has a small belt loop on the back of it.So I being the creative genius that I am decided to use the velcro straps from my bike bag to run through the belt loop. The tool now hangs just below my frame, under my bike bag. It is easily accessible if I need it and its out of the way. I have more room in my bike bag because its not in there and I don't have to carry it on my person. All in all very great little tool! Thanks for reading.

Normally I will not write a review for a product until I have had it for a few months, but I got this last night and liked it so much I decided to go ahead and write the review now. Originally I was going to order the Mini 6 because I had one Allen head bolt on my bike that I didn’t have a wrench for, but I saw that the mini 9 was only about $1 more so I got this instead. The first thing I noticed about this is how small it is. This thing is tiny, but still gets the job done, and weighs particaly nothing. It also comes with a nifty little case that has a belt loop on the back. I used this to tighten every bolt and screw on my Giant Escape 2 and could feel that it was high quality. This little tool will live in my panniers now for Incase something happens while I’m riding. I would highly recommend this for anyone to keep on them when riding a bike.

As being new into the bicycle commuter world, I wanted a tool I could throw into my bag that wouldn't weigh too much but would assist in any minor issues that I might experience on the road to/from work. I originally intended it to be an emergency tool, along with my tire patch kit and 15mm wrench to remove my wheels. Turns out I use it for 98% of the maintenance on my bicycle. Topeak did a good job of selecting sizes that are common on my road bike (can't speak for others) so I'm rarely without the necessary tool (only exception is the wheels require a 15mm wrench but for something this small, I didn't expect there to be one on there). Only thing I find myself wanting is a flat head. Not that my bike needs it but so I can use it for other things so it's just so convenient and portable.

[updated Jan 6, 2016] The first one I received came in an amazon plastic bag and was missing the Neoprene case (and original packaging). Must have been an incomplete return, or fell out of the original packaging. Amazon replaced it. It really does need to be in a case, because the sharp edges will damage your seat bag and inner tubes when vibrating against them for hours. Once Amazon got the item right, it's the perfect multi-tool for me. I ride on roads, so a chain tool is a bit much, imho. Also, the chain tools that come with the multi-tools are a pain to use, so if I'm going somewhere far from bike shops, I'll bring my chain tool. I also don't think tire levers should be part of a multi-tool,so this one is perfect in that regard, too.

So far this has been a great tool. I bought it to replace my 13-function larger tool that I had been carrying for a while, and boy does the extra space make a difference in my seat bag. I like that this tool comes with a little carrying case but I don't keep it in the case, just keep losing the case (tiny little neoprene case). But the tool itself is solid and small (about the length of a finger and and about 1.5 fingers wide, when closed). The only thing you could knock it for imo is not having a flat head screwdriver, that would be helpful (even though I'll admit most bikes, especially road, don't have much use for a philips head). But, the tool is as advertised and has worked impeccably.I will update if there are issues.

I bought one of these for myself. I liked it enough we got another for my wife to carry on her bike. Small, well designed and carries the basics that you need for on the fly adjustments. Easily fits in with the other gear under my seat or on my top bar little bag. I've used it a couple times to tweak bike seats while on a group ride. The little case it comes with would make it probably a bit more comfortable if you like to put this type of stuff in your jersey pocket but thats not really for me.As long as you don't want a chain break (I don't know how to do it anyways or want to carry the parts) this is a great tool for the money.td;lr Will recommend and have already purchased a second.

It does everything i need! I wasn't sure it would have all the sizes i needed but so far I have been able to adjust front/rear derailuer, adjust seat post, adjust seat angle, install water cages, adjust brakes. Truly a lifesaver to have in your seat bag for any road adjustments.PROSSize - very small and relatively light. takes up little room in my seat bag.9 Function - the allen sizes included along with screw driver have fit every job i have needed.Cover - comes with a nice velcro cover. very stylish.I dont know why anyone needs more than just the basic 9 function tools. they are lighter and provide for about any adjustment you are going to need while on the road. Great buy!

Some reviews mentioned that the tool is too small. Umm, clearly some people have trouble reading that this is a mini-tool. Topeak is a reputable company, and the tool was created for people like me, who use their bike to commute to work, or, like me, have had heavier "real" tools stolen that were kept on the bike while locked up at the train station. The main functions I was looking for were ability to tighten crank arms and light weight (to be carried with me on the train daily). After I replaced my crank arms, the left one loosens occasionally (which is common). This tool fits the bill perfectly for the need to tighten that arm on occasion.

I've got to admit, when I first received this multi-tool it was smaller than I expected it to be and I feared that would reduce it's utility. Having owned and used this tool for over a month both back at hoe for maintenance and once on the trail, I can say with confidence that this little tool is more than it appears. The tools are very rigid and strong. I'm able to get good leverage using the tool body as a lever. The tool is also very tight, keeping the tools you are not using up and out of the way. I am very happy with this purchase. All that said, for the big torque-y jobs, you'll probably want a dedicated set of allen keys.

While this is an emergency tool, I use it for maintenance because it's always attached to my bike and convenient. Allen keys are nice an hardened, I don't think I could ever bend them. The small sizes are shorter to prevent breaking, which is pretty clever. If I need more leverage than the small handle has to offer, I fold out the other have of the wrenches to add length to the handle. I'd swap a flathead for a torx, but whatever. Still a great tool.Light, takes up very little space, does everything as well as you'll ever need it to. I carry this and a Pedro's Trixie wrench and I'm good so long as I don't need a flathead lol.

Great tool for the saddle bag! It's small, but functional, and easy to use. It's lightweight, but strong; I don't feel as though it is going to bend or break when torquing a bolt. And the fact that it comes with a neoprene carrying case is a bonus! Topeak has a range of tools, and I would suggest anyone interested in this tool may want to consider the Mini 10 and Mini 6. This tool has a sizes than I can use on my road bike, so the Mini 6 might be just as useful. Likewise, if you have lots of different sized fasteners, there's the Mini 10. Overall, it's a well-built, small, and lightweight tool that does the job!

Having this little tool on a long ride or in your backpack is an awesome feature.I adjusted my brakes, fixed the shifter cables, and minor adjustments on my road bike such as seat height and seat position. This thing is pretty small (smaller than what I expected) but it does everything I need it to do.It is solid and I don't see it braking anytime soon. A mini solid tool to have and it has all the major functions you need to have when something brakes down. It may not have all the "super tools" like spokes, etc but this thing is sure handy!!Happy I bought it, its going in my backpack which I ride with.
