This is a great addition to the household appliance cupboard. It's easy to use for those small jobs that you can't be bothered to get the main vacuum cleaner out for. It's also great for the car.It in no way replaces a normal vacuum cleaner.The only reason I gave 4 not 5 stars is that the battery doesn't last as long as I expected but a mate explained the reason why - on full power these things suck a lot of energy. Just watch your electric meter when you have your normal cleaner on full power!

Good bit of kit with easy to connect accessories. Well balanced too. IMHO a spare battery should be provided as on 'max' I was unable to vacuum our two flights of stairs which was disappointing. It's early days but think it's a bit pricey although well made.Emptying the thing is not intuitive and the IKEA type sticker is not that obvious for right handed folk to see. Took the two of us literally 8 minutes to fathom it out, something a couple of sentences could have rectified in a written guide.

The Dyson V7 trigger looks amazing and the suction is every bit as powerful as the marketing suggests. So far, I've used it to clean blinds, the stair carpet, kitchen worktops, cupboards and the car. It is great for picking up dirt and debris in awkward places and the included tools are a boon. The best feature is the simple bin emptying feature that works great and avoids messy hands. The ergonomics might be improved a touch, but it's a solid design effort. I wouldn't be without one now.

This is my third handheld Dyson. The last two wore out after years of use. I could not manage without one of these cleaners for instant clean ups so bought this V7. Have only given 4 stars though because the design of the tools attachment has changed and, although of improved design, I had to purchase an adapter from Dyson, on-line to allow me to fit the extra tools I had bought over the years. This added £6.50 to the cost (inc. postage). It would have been nice if this was included as standard.

Excellent hoover. Haven't used it beyond 20mins yet so cant comment on the battery life except it was still working when i was finished. Noticed some reviewers commented on difficulties in operating the mechanism to empty the canister. It wouldn't open when i first removed it from the packaging but did open after it had some material inside after the first hoovering. I've tried a couple of times since and the lids drops open every time. disappointed that the cradle didn't come with the hoover.

First impression poor as mouldings were not a uniform colour (colour pigment was inadequately mixed before moulding?). Charging time is excessive. You apparently can’t have a spare battery.This is a replacement for the Gtech Multi which failed to run with the power head, and the replacement had the same fault. The Dyson works as expected. Cleans cat hair off the bed nicely. Dusts skirting boards. Cleans up debris from sanding and drilling.It is convenient for small jobs and stairs.

Wanted a second handheld Dyson as we're very fond of their products and have always chose Dyson. As expected, a very powerful and robust device which does the job and is an upgrade to previous models. The battery life is great and charges extremely quick so you're not without it for too long. Only thing I would say, attachments from previous models won't fit this specific model although 3 are included. Bigger waste bin to previous models and is much easier to use as well as effective.

I bought this after having used a previous model at a holiday house - it is a little heavier, but still light enough for easy use. Suction is excellent and the two power settings largely overcome the matter of short battery life. The broader combi-tool is of doubtful benefit as compared to the earlier model.The emptying system, although very ingenious, seems unnecessarily complex - a simple screw-off holder would be just as convenient - but I am sure the Designer would not agree !!

This is a really great vacuum for small jobs and with the power set to high it's pretty powerful too, but you can't use it for long on high power as the battery doesn't last long on that setting. I use it every day for little bits that need hoovering up, so much easier than getting the big vacuum out. I do wish it had a longer crevice tool though as I don't find it easy trying to get under furniture as the main unit is quite chunky so doesn't fit easily under furniture.

This is a very good hand-held vacuum to use for additional tasks like vacuuming the stairs or car. Due to the very limited time possible at maximum power (6 minutes) I have found it necessary to all but ignore that this option exists - always using it at ‘standard’ power mode. That said, this is more than adequate for most purposes and allows the unit to function for 30 minutes.Overall very happy with this purchase although the high price loses it 1-star.

Purchased to replace unreliable DC59, which had given sterling service until it only worked intermittently. The V7 is infinitely better designed than DC59. Easier to empty and select suction settings, plus a little longer battery life and much quieter.Pity the attachments of the DC59 are not compatible with the V7, but an adaptor can be purchased to enable some, but not the power-head attachments.Still a great bit of kit though!

The grandkids love it and are always volunteering. The hubby loves it to clean the car. As long as you don't use it on full power it goes quite far. The only contra I have is that you have to keep pressing the on button all the time. Having arthritis, this hurts . If you could alter this switch that would be great. On to getting my next one, this time one that has a battery that will last a bit longer and has a stick.

Got this to replace an ageing DC34 and very happy with purchase. The only downside I can see is the new way in emptying the waste drum, seems to be a very awkward way in doing it compared to the DC34 which just had a small catch at side which when released opened up the waste drum, now you have to left a handle on top which to me is not very strong and could be the weak spot. Overall very happy. Thanks ARGOS

We bought this at the same time as the small ball dyson as I have wanted one of these since their launch for cleaning the car and hard to reach places round the house. It is an impressive piece of kit kit, light weight and compact. Only criticism is the attachments don’t seem to have anywhere to go if you not using them. Not the end of the world by any means as weight is a key feature of this product.

Although by no means cheap for a small handheld vacuum, it's quite powerful and very useful for cleaning stairs and many other uses.I was impressed with the actual design, good tools with it and really easy emptying.I've found that I use for most of the time on the higher power, which unfortunately means a reduced useage time - but still sufficient for most jobs.
