I have two dogs, Chocolate Labrador and a Golden Retriever. Trudie our Golden Retriever leaves her blonde hair all over the house and on our clothes. To reduce this you have got to be constantly grooming. I thought I would try the Dyson Groom Tool. Anybody who has got pets and a vacuum cleaner would know the issues here, they run a mile to the sound of the motor. My issue was further compounded in the fact that Trudie is a general pest and the vacuum was my weapon when she was naughty as I would chase her around the house to get my shoes back that she was eating. (Naughty I know but it worked.)My first task was to get them to trust me with the vacuum and indeed the vacuum itself. My dogs are always hungary dogs and it amazing what they will do for the tiniest treat. I would put treats on the vacuum, and sure enough they would cautiously retrieve them and then leg it. I started with the vacuum off and then repeated with it on. This was repeated over several days, nice and slowly.I then introduced the Grooming tool, mainly with Trudie and sure enough, if the treats were there then so was she. I started with small quick sessions and then increasing when she began to feel relaxed. I have had the groomer for quite a few weeks now and can say that Trudie has no issues with the vacuum and is now enjoying being groomed on a regular basis.(Treats somewhat reduced now)If used on a regular basis the hair balls around the house have been greatly reduced and trudie looks good.Archie only has fine hair and does not malt very much. He is still a bit weary of the vacuum. With him I used the Groomer on its own and brush off the fur into a bin. I have to be a bit more gentle with the Groomer with him as he is more sensitive to the Groomers bristles. It works quite well this way.Personally, I like this tool very much as it works well for our dogs.Peteice Warrington

I bought the dog grooming tool with my new dyson. I was wary of using it as my 5 golden retrievers are not fans of the "noisy sucky monster" at the best of times. Being on the end of it was probably fairly close to a nightmare situation for them. I tried the more balanced of them first who obviously thought, " No .....No.....well... no-ish....well actually....mmmmm its quite nice......do it some more" and I thought so far so good. Much the same with the others, including the one who would rather be in the garden in the rain than in close proximity to the vaccuum. Even the oldies who normally hide under the bed at the first sight of the grooming tools laid quietly and even showed signs of enjoying the experience.I have to say they looked fantastic, my boy looked positively poofy, when I had finished and they obviously felt quite nice. Even the cats quite enjoyed the experience of nearly disappearing up the hose. The ensuing bonus was that when I took them to training class that night, everyone asked if I had bathed them as their coats were so gleaming and beautiful.Further delight was that I was not covered in fur. I was not left with a pile of fluff stuck to the carpet that then needed vaccuuming.I did not have fluff up my nose or in my eyes. I just wish I had bought one of these tools years ago. It is fab, brill, effective. Also well made, safe for the dogs, and easy to use. No tugging or pulling. The dogs enjoyed it, and so did I. Well done Mr. Dyson.

We have a 4 month old Leonberger puppy. For those unfamiliar with the breed they are a giant breed which have long coats and at this age he is already a medium sized dog and has long but fluffy hair which constantly sheds. We have raised him with the vacuum (see end) and so don't have the trouble of him going crazy when the vacuum cleaner is on, but still he is not so sure about using the groomer attachment on him. Our solution is to use it when he is eating or has a bone - he is very food motivated so in these situations he doesn't care!In terms of usefulness: it seems good at collecting hair in the vacuum and not leaving hair around, but it doesn't seem to properly get the deeper hair out that a product like the miki rake will, and a few hours later there is still shedding. I need to experiment with it to see if I can work out better results, but at the moment it needs to be used a few times a day to really make a difference. But for a slightly shorter haired breed maybe it would work better.Vacuum and dogs: if your dog doesn't like vacuum cleaners you need to introduce slowly before getting this. First have it in the room with the dog all the time. Then switch it on for short periods when he is feeding. Then when he is used to it, actually do vacuuming when feeding. Increase length of time and closeness to the dog as he gets used to it and you will have a vacuum trained dog in no time!

OMG!! This is undoubtedly the best invention since sliced bread!! So much more convenient than just a ordinary pet brush, we use it on our cat and whilst he doesn't mind the hoover generally, the first time we used the groomer on him he took off like a cat out of hell. But we were more determined than he was and frankly we the are humans here so we held him in place a few times (not hard just firm) and now he loves it! He even rolls on his back so we can reach the more delicate underbelly and he looks decidedly put out if we ever try to skimp on how much time we spend on his grooming.Air quality has improved and there is much less fur clinging to our furniture and carpets. Gotta love Dyson. This is my purchase of the year. We brought the tool kit as well to go with our DC35 instead of the animal and we find it really works for us. We use the hose attachment and it is a two person job but it works really well.

We had doubts about this product as our dog attacks vacuum cleaners, especially Dysons (is there some ultrasonic emission?). However, he became quite docile(ish) when groomed with this. The brush is well designed.A sprung plastic sole plate has to be retracted to expose the fine wire bristles. On release, the sole plate lifts the dog hairs away which then flow down the central hole. There is deliberate leakage around the sides of the tool to prevent uncomfortable suction and to catch stray hairs. It is a shame that the vacuum cleaner itself doesn't have a longer hose (which would allow us to keep it further away from the dog)but overall the brush is easy to use and effective. We used this with Dyson DC24 Animal - Ultra-Lightweight Dyson Ball Upright Vacuum Cleaner for Pet Owners but an adapter allows this brush to fit most models.

I think this is expensive for what it is, but it is a good quality, well made tool that works very well. We have a Siberian Husky that is currently moulting and this reduces the amount of hair left on the carpet (etc) after manual brushing. It fits onto our Vax vacuum cleaner with no problem as there is an extra attachment at the bottom that can be taken on or off dependent on the type of vacuum cleaner being used (i.e. we take it off when we use our small Dyson vacuum cleaner). Our dog doesn't mind it, but then he doesn't mind the noise of the vacuum cleaner. If your dog is wary or doesn't like the vacuum cleaner then I'd be wary of buying this at the cost that it is. However, if they're fine with it,and you're struggling with a moulting dog then it's worth getting.

I had seen this a few times but thought its prob just a gimmicky thing that wont work, i decided to buy it after watching vids on youtube of others using it, its amazing! I have 2 big fluffly dogs who moult a lot and its saved me loads of time brushing and cleaning up where ive brushed them, it collects the fur and then you release the button and the fur all gets sucked up leaving no mess behind, i was a bit worried about having to keep the button pressed but its big and presses easily so doesnt cause your thumb to ache. I dont think this would work as well on a short hair dog like a staffy but longer haired dogs its brilliant, highly recommend!

We have a six year old chocolate labrador who sheds her fibres of love and joy absolutely everywhere. I was constantly hoovering her with my hand held dyson with a nomal brush on it and she loved it . I attached the groomer and a first I think I had the spikes out too much as she wasn't keen. But I was appalled at the under coat left on the groomer. I now just have a tiny bit of spike out and glide over Madam Prima Donna ?The only tiny negative is I need to use two hands, one to keep the trigger on dyson and one to control the amount of spike to use.

My dog sheds tremendous amounts each year and I have all the brushes to get this out but it's very time consuming and skid messy however the dyson groom brush is very effective and also when the brush is full u click the release button and it shoots up the vacuum cleaner ! No more chasing fur around the house after brushing .I would say it's better used on dogs with thick coats or long coats definitely not a short coated dog as the bristles are rather sharp and long .Wouldn't be without this now !

I bought this with some trepidation as my collie doesn't much like it when I get the Dyson out. After a few goes and plenty of treats he now lets me groom him, although I can't pretend he enjoys it. The tool works really well and all the hair ends up in the Dyson (which fills up very satisfyingly) and not all over the floor. My only gripe is the price. Dyson design things beautifully but you really have to pay for it. The price put me off buying one for ages - but now I'm singing it's praises.

I bought this for my daughter's dog as she continually sheds hair on the floor and on people. As she liked having the hoover nozzle run over her I thought this might be just the thing to help the shedding situation. It works well and collects a lot of hair . For a normal dog this would help to alleviate the problem but unless you used this a few times a day it doesn't solve ours. Have to start wearing white clothes. It is a very good tool and does everything it says it will do. Just not for us.

First combed dog with tool UNATTACHED to hoover, dog loved it. Two days later showed dog tool attached to hoover but nit switched on. Dog wary but warmed to it quickly. Two days later turned on hoover with tool attached and pug in lap. Flicked tool several times and kept it below her becire first brush. 2min wary watching then loved it. No hairs on lap. Does what it says. Wish had this last five years, such a boon, life will be much mire civilised for our visitors!well done dyson again

I've just taken delivery of this groom tool by Dyson and I am SO pleased. I don't own a Dyson and after unsuccessfully scouring the net for the answer to if it will fit my VAX Match Air upright, I just decided to take the chance.I am pleased to say it fits great (with the supplied adapter) and it doesn't great job of grooming my Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Thos has now opened a world of Dyson accessories to me, interested in trying the tangle free stairs tool next.

Excellent! I have two border collies - one of which hides when she sees a grooming brush - or she did before I purchased this tool. Now my dogs will happily submit to a daily grooming, and in the recent hot weather it has helped to keep them cool and comfortable. Life is so much easier for me, as grooming is much less effort and an altogether more pleasant experience.Cannot praise this product highly enough. Easy to use and no hair to clear up afterwards!!

Best tool I've ever bought money well spent, I have six large dogs + some of them moult all year round, this makes grooming so much easier + less stressful for the dogs that don't like being brushed. My Akita doesn't like the Hoover so I just used the tool at first which worked just as well but gradually added the Hoover + she's getting use to it more + more. I would recommend this tool to anyone who has multiple dogs or finds grooming difficult.
