This is great for any budding young scientists or any child with an interest in the world around them. It's a great microscope! Super easy to use, with a really powerful optic up to 400%, which is really pretty impressive. The microscope comes with some slides ready mounted, such as blood, insect parts and so on, with some information cards to describe what you're looking at which means this is ready to go straight out of the box. It comes with lots of useful accessories too, like tweezers and scalpels and so on. You will need some AA batteries to power the LED lighting however. Focussing, especially at high magnification, can take a fine adjustment by hand and younger children may struggle.Very easy to use, with a nice big focusing knob. The microscope unit itself can be clipped from the stand which is a really good idea. My test subject was out in the garden looking at leaves and flowers with it.It's also USB capable which means you can hook it up to a PC and see what you're looking at on a bigger screen, take screen shots, and so on. This also helps with the focussing, as a handy grown-up can double check that the child has everything nice and sharp. The mobile phone section is the weakest part, it's really just a plastic shelf that allows you to position your phone so that the camera lens points into the viewfinder. If you have a twin-lens phone, this doesn't really work very well. This is a great tool and it's far more than a fun toy. Very good indeed. If this review is helpful to you, please let me know by clicking the 'helpful' button below.

I used to have a metal version of one of these when I was a kid so this digital one was very familiar for me to use and operates basically the same. This time there is three different ways of using the microscope; classic looking down the lens, using the USB webcam, or using a smartphone with the included phone mount. The microscope has 3 different zoom levels, above and below LED lighting, a focus knob, a fine zoom knob and it has a drawer in the rear to store a few items. You get a set of plastic tools, 4 specimen slides with an extra 2 blank ones, some tweezers, different adapters for the eye hole, instruction booklet/guide, and a USB webcam. The microscope requires 3x AAA batteries which are not included. The instructions do a great job of showing you how to use everything and has a load of pages telling you about different samples and what they look like under the microscope. It’s a great set that kids will love, and it encourages science and biology which can only be a good thing. The camera adapter and USB webcam work great, for the webcam its plug and play and if using Windows 10 you can use the Camera application to view it. Everything is simple and easy to use and its an excellent entry level set to get you started. The price seems reasonable and I think it would make a lovely gift for someone. I’m always happy to see more education-based products on the market and I’m happy to recommend this as a great addition.

A junior microscope for budding scientists. The microscope is really rather good, certainly a lot better than the ones I used at school to do my studies with in the 1990’s.It needs three Aa batteries ( not included) to power the little light, but it doesn’t seem to be power hungry so these should last a while. You get plenty of things included in the set, slides, tweezers a mobile phone adapter ( everything has to relate to phones these days it seems!) a camera to plug into your pc/laptop to enable you to store your images etc.The magnification is good, it takes a little getting used to to get the right focus, but this isn’t hard, it takes a few turns and you’ve got a clear picture to study. It is certainly good enough to use to study things in detail and will be helpful for home study relating to school subjects too.I would whole heartedly recommend this for any curious kid who is even the slightest bit interested in the world around them, it is easy to use and gives an instant and clear close up view of the subject being examined.

My nephew and myself are both very impressed with this Buki Digital Microscope. It gives really impressive clear images even at its maximum 400 X magnification. We spent most of the afternoon viewing all sorts of stuff from different fabrics to plant life to samples of liquids, hair and various food stuff. It took us a few goes to master preparing samples, but once we'd got the knack we were away. My nephew is now proudly going round his friends and family showing the images he has captured on his phone and getting them to guess what they are of. A fantastic educational toy (well its a bit more than just a toy really) that will continue to entertain and interest. Yes its a bit on the pricey side. But the quality of the toys and what it can do makes it worth every penny.

I used to love the microscope that I had when I was a child; it's fair to say that they have come a long way since then. It's well-made, and goes up to 400x magnification, which is a lot compared to when I was a child! There are slides included, which is good, and it's easy and clear to focus. It's great that it has both under- and over- LED lighting, as it makes things much clearer. A great thing for any child who is into science; our son has found it fascinating to look at everything from human hairs to salt under it, and it's a great way to learn about the 'smaller world'. Five stars.

This is a wonderful introduction for any child to science. The last time i saw a microscope was in the 80s so this is in another world in comparison. The modes are great on it but i prefer the tablet mode - although the other modes are also fantastic.Included is also some example slides which is great fun or you can use your imagination to discover new objects to look at and the magnification is really very good.Lots of fun and interesting.

This digital microscope works well and is great as an introduction to the world of small things. It really excites children and everyone wanted a go out of the younger children (aged 8-11, but am sure younger teens would also enjoy this). Can be linked to a tablet so very versatile. Magnification (to 400x I think) and image quality are very good. Easy to use. Highly recommended.

Works well in all 3 modes. Our favourite is the optical mode because you get the best clarity that way.It comes with a bunch of slides with cool stuff to marvel at.There are also some slides for finding your own samples to observe. All in all a very good kit and worth the money.A great way to get your kids interested in science
