This is a really good and handy spider and bug catcher. We have caught spiders, wasps, bees, flies and crane flies with it. The beauty of this is that once trapped, my 5 and 3 year old can examine them closely so a quick educational session before we release it. We have another spider catcher as well (opening and closing bristles) but this by far has a better success rate and handy for more than just spiders. The only thing is that generally the bugs have to be sitting somewhere for you to be able to use it on them. Spiders generally are so can't knock the product for that, flies and bees require patience and their cooperation.I would advise closing the catcher lid slowly so that the legs of the spiders/insects don't get trapped. My 5 year old uses it very confidently and is definitely helping with her fear and squeals at the sight of a spider. The only thing which this product can improve upon is the length of the stick. You have to be REALLY close to the spider/ bug for it to work and so not sure how any one with a big phobia will manage it. I am surprised that they haven't made it much longer (hint for design improvement!)Overall it is a very good buy (aside from the length) and has become indispensable in our house.

I've given it five stars as it's the only spider catcher I've used that does what it says on the tin! Lots of other catchers have wiggle room which allows the spiders to escape - and of course they immediately run straight towards you or drop down your neck - but this fits flush and the narrowness of the slide sweeps right under the hundreds of legs without amputating any. It's really simple to use and neat to store. I now have two - one upstairs and one downstairs. Once caught, the spiders are easy to transport to the nearest window where I give them flying lessons. I recommend this to anyone who doesn't like spiders but, soft-heartedly, won't kill them!

Wow, it really works and is such a simple design. I have managed without one for years and years and only after talking to someone else, started to look in to getting one of those vacuum spider suckers. They run on batteries - this doesn't and it can be used on a variety of bugs. We've 'caught' and released back into the wild a variety of spiders, flies, bluebottles, 'daddy long legs', wasps and a plethora of other bugs, without any harm. (Although you need to take extra care with the daddy long legs sliding up the panel). Will be ordering more for different parts of the house, just could do with a long, handled one to reach all areas now.

Well did i have some fun with these!! My mother-in-law thought i had gone mad when i bought these home. Being the height of summer, we have a lot of bugs in the conservatory so i thought i would give this ago. Oh my did she laugh when she saw them, that laugh soon turned to a curious smile as i started to collect these bugs up!!Even better is that i can show my little one bees, wasps and anything else i catch for a close up look. He loves it!The mother-in-law is not using this on a daily basis.Clever idea, simple yet effective.

If like Mrs C you care about the environment in particular saving bees that fly into the conservatory and cant get out. This is a very good tool you can get the bees /spiders and release them into the garden. its easy to use and works very well . my only criticism is that it could be a lot longer, my reason for saying that is Mrs C is always calling me away from my busy schedule of watching anything on you tube to rescue bees she cant reach. if you hate spiders but love bees get one of these.

This has been fantastic at moving the odd spider outside. It's easy to use and less risk of hurting the insect. I also tried it out to get rid of some pesky shield bettles covering one of my plants as I didn't want to spray (and the birds and hedgehogs weren't eating them). It was fantastic as they were really easy to catch and in no time at all (since most are cuddled up in pairs) I had dropped over 40 of them into a disposable container where they 'peacefully went to sleep'

This is a simple but immensely useful little gadget, bought to replace one I have had for years which is finally starting to break up. I use it year round to evict unwanted insects and spiders while minimising the risk of getting bitten or stung and it's particularly handy just now, when wasps are coming into the house quite frequently. A larger version would be useful as this one is not quite large enough for the very biggest spiders!

I bought this because I'm sick of using a glass and a piece of card to rescue unwanted visitors without harming them, I mean you need 3 hands, one to hold the glass, one to put the card under it and another to open the door/window to let the spider/insect out. This gadget requires only one hand and is really good, the only downside is that it could do with being slightly bigger.

I felt really guilty about killing spiders - which do a great job catching flies - and thought I would try a humane spider catcher. The first spider I caught lost 6 of its eight legs when I closed the trapdoor. After a bit of practice I now wait a second or two after trapping the spider before gently closing the door. The spider is then complete to resume life in the garden.

No complaints. Box was damaged but I don't care. Item was delivered on time and service was excellent. Everyone should have one of these devices. It makes things so much easier and also avoids killing insects and spiders unnecessarily.Good qualityI am updating in March 2018. I still have this device. I use it regularly. It is so easy to use and handy. Still five stars

This product is simple and works well - and that is why my wife and I really like it and wish we bought one years ago. Its construction may not be particularly strong or rugged but with careful use it should last. Allows you to catch spiders, bees, wasps etc. without harming them and release them back into the garden. No hesitation in recommending this excellent product.

Literally the best invention of all time. Just moved to the country and the house is full of Daddy Long Legs. This works so easily and is humane - move catcher towards spider, catch the blighter then slide the little door closed. Take down bottom of garden and release guilt-free. Also caught a wasp. Would catch all kinds of bugs. Definitely recommend!

I have been using this for a week now and I wouldn't be without it! Very easy to use and keeps the arachnid in question at a comfortable distance. Though you would need a bigger one if you live somewhere other than the UK where spiders are bigger too! Not sure why the review questions included "sucktion" - this is not a powered vacuum spider catcher!

We live in an area where flying bugs often come into the house. A friend gave us a Snapy, and we have found it so useful that we have bought two more. No more squished insects on our white walls. We just catch them in the Snapy and chuck them outside. Of course, this doesn't work with bugs that are flying around, but neither does a fly swatter.

Absolutely brilliant! I have been using my kids broken bug catcher for years and had enough. Now we are in autumn it seems I'm finding spiders and woodlice in the house everyday. I hate insects but don't like killing them. I will say that using this Snapy is so easy to use and there's no chance of escape. I'm actually quite enjoying using it!
