Bought these for my 6 year old after he broke a cheap pair of binoculars. The previous ones were really only toys and not very robust at all. These are much better and are proper binoculars (roof prism) as opposed to field glasses like the last ones. These have diopta adjustment and central focus that work fine. They are solidly made and look like they will take the odd knock (although aforementioned son is not being allowed unsupervised access...). Unlike a previous reviewer, I see no problem with the alignment of the two tubes. The image is quite good, but obviously not what you would get with an expensive pair of binoculars. Perfectly adequate for junior use. They appear to be made in Germany and have a 5 year guarantee.I would have given it 5 stars except for a rather obvious ommision which even the cheap broken pair of binoculars had - a neck strap. These have a wrist strap, which seems utterly ridiculous. Kids will find ways to knock these things about without intentionally attaching them to their hands! I guess this is because of some perceived safety issue associated with cords and childrens' necks. Since children should only use such items under adult supervision anyway, I don't really see the inclusion of a neck strap as a concern. I will be seeing if I can attach a neck strap to these.

Bought as a present for a five year old, he has experience of using binoculars at the forest school he attends. We had bought and returned similar specification binoculars which were not fit for purpose - the focussing mechanism failed out of the box. Always worth testing a product before giving it as a gift.Knowing the Bresser name and for little more money bought these. Not only does the focus adjustment work it is easier to adjust than on the other binoculars. There is eyepiece focus adjustment to correct any imbalance between the user's eyes. Gives a sharp and surprisingly bright image.Full instructions, case and strap are supplied.Grandson was delighted.Would also be suitable for an adult who wants low magnification binocular.

Not yet used by my granddaughter for whom they were purchased, but I have tried them and they seem fine, the comments made that they are not a toy I think are very fair. Good value and prompt delivery so no complaints on supplier. I have marked as 4 rather than 5 as as also mentioned by others the lack of a neck strap is an inconvenience a 5 year old needs more than a wrist strap. Yes we are all aware of H & S but why not something like I am planning, a cord or ribbon with a breakaway clip? not that they are likely to be used unsupervised. Overall happy with purchase.

I bought two pairs of these binoculars for our children and am very pleased with the quality of the image they produce. These binoculars are also well constructed and robust. They came supplied with a wrist strap but I have attached a thin coloured boot lace as a neck lanyard through the small lugs on either side of the body. I would definately recommend these binoculars to others.

Bought as birthday present for young grandson as he had been using my full size binoculars; good quality image, lightweight enough for him to handle, easy to focus with small hands, could benefit from a full neck lanyard insted of the wrist strap (only my preference). Optically can't be faulted, up until now seem to be able to withstand kids harsh treatments.

My 4 year old grandson is delighted with this gift. He has a pair of plastic 'pretend' binoculars which he got from the front of a children's magazine but complained they 'didn't work.' These really work! They are very attractive, colourful and tough. Their rubber casing protects them against bumps and bangs. A really good buy and highly recommended.

I bought these binoculars for my grandson who is interested in stargazing. The advice of teachers was not to buy a telescope for a young child but binoculars instead as these are easier to use. I have been quite impressed by the quality of the magnification and he is delighted with them. They look attractive for a child and seem pretty sturdy.

This was a birthday presant for my 4 year old grandson as he likes to watch the trains go by from his bedroom window. They are just the right size and will last him a while. He needed help with the focusing of course but they are quite sturdy and a good colour for a little boy - he loves them!

Bought two pairs of these for my grandsons because I wanted something simple, light and wouldn't crash against the window (like they do with our big pair). Very child-friendly but with magnification good enough for them to keep watch on the passing ships. Very happy with my purchase.

Excellent for a child's first binoculars. Tough, good optically. Buy these not toy ones they are definitely worth it. The child I bought these for ignored her other Christmas presents after opening and of course did what we all did as children and looked down them backwards.....!

Great kids binoculars. However, would really benefit from having a neck strap (with quick release catch for safety).(Also, not waterproof. If left out overnight and it rains they will fill with water. They do then dry out over a few days if left somewhere warm and dry though)

these binoculars are just right for a child, the magnification just enough. they are bright and durable but I agree with another reveiwer 'elf and safety at work. a wrist strap provided that is in my view useless. A neck strap would be better used under supervision.

Bought these for my little nephew and he loves them. The fit his little hands really well and I'm so pleased with my purchase. Thank you would recommend these for 3-5 year old and love the little case to store them in too, a bargain

Bought as a present for our 6 year old granddaughter who has an interest in wildlife. She loves them. Sturdy and well made she has used them on her mini field trips to great effect. Not the cheapest but excellent quality.

Bought as a Christmas present for my 5 year old son. He still learning how to use the focus but they are very good quality. We've looked at the moon through them & took them to the Lake District to see the views.
