I bought this for my 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter to share. They love it! I should have actually bought two. It enables kids to get a better look with slight magnification at bugs, both the underside and on top. I must agree with the other reviewers though, the top really should screw on. My son tried to show me something and not only did the top fall off the bug escaped into my kitchen, but because it fell onto the hard floor the top has cracked. Also, I managed to knock the top off in the living room setting another bug free!! I would still definately recommend this product and buying a second for my little girl to have full use off is still an option.

I bought this product for my grandson's third birthday together with other bug related products.I have found it brilliant value for money. It is of sturdy and safe construction and is durable enough to be taken out on walks/ trips to the park etc. It also cleans up well - especially useful if slugs or snails etc are observed. It has been used on a regular basis and my grandson has found it fascinating and exciting to view the various small creatures we find in the garden. The only problem has been persuading him to set the creatures free again!

An excellent fun toy. My 21 month old daughter just loves the creature peeper and can't wait to get outside to find the bugs to put inside the viewer. The nice thing is that they can be released again without any harm. The peeper comes with a plastic bug inside - just remember Mums if you are anyway nervous of bugs - don't let this plastic one get out of sight. I found it in the dark on my hall stairs and let out a very large scream.

This is a great toy and my 4 and 2 year old grandchildren have loved looking at all sorts of bugs out of the garden. The magnifying feature is excellent. My only criticism would be that the top section does not screw on, it just places on which means that it can come apart fairly easily and the bug can then escape. This was especially a problem for the younger child who doesn't always hold thing tightly.

Fascinating discoveries for 5 and 3 year old grandsons: they examined snails, slugs, woodlice and jumping forest spiders! The toy is robust enough to be dropped - even on a tiled floor. The two aspect viewers are good as the creatures can be viewed from above and below without having to turn them over and the collecting cup is essential as it stops little fingers squeezing unfortunate victims to death!

My son loves this and so do his friends. The underside view of the bug is a good feature. It's a bit awkward to carry about with you, and it's annoying that "lid" bit just sits in place with no fixing, so it will fall off if you tilt the thing. For the money, though, an excellent and very educational toy.

I bought these both for my own children and the children I look after. The product is so much fun for the children, and allowing them to look at the underneath is excellent. The only downfall I would find with it is that the lid does not screw on so if the child tips it slightly the lid falls off.

What more can i say, this is great for little boys (and girls) who love bugs, they love the idea of finding and looking at bugs, bought this for elder son as was learning about bugs at school bought bug book and plastic bugs too, fun, educational, entertaining and would make a fab present too!!

Bought for Christmas with fake bugs as it was too cold to go outside looking for real ones! Can't wait for the weather to get warmer so we can get out there. The glass is clear and magnifys properly so you can really see all the detail.

This is bigger than I thought it would be and really nice as I gave to a bug mad 8 year old girl and she was very impressed. Good clear magnifying without the usual having to focus anything and make summertime exploring extra fun.

This was bought as a Christmas present for my cousin's 3 year old son. He absolutely loves it and has had great fun finding bugs to examine, mostly woodlice so far. An ideal present for an inquisitive, nature-loving child.

Bought as a present for my 6 year old nephew who spent several hours pond dipping in our garden in the Summer- this is to use next year. Sure this viewer will help him identify what he catches! Seems good value for money.

Simple, low tech toy - we've put earth worms, lady birds and spiders in it. It probably isn't a high quality toy but it will last a long time. Good also for a present as its slightly unusual

AMAZING PRODUCT! This is a great gift for anyone who loves exploring the outdoors! Works very well & the big size with 2 viewpoints makes it funner for kids than the usual small product!
