I may be a little biased in my review as I've been a massive fan of the Mortal Kombat series since the beginning when I would be dropping 10p's into the arcade at my local chip shop (remember those days?!) and then finally getting it on my beloved SNES, but I think this game is being a bit too harshly criticised so I thought I'd step in and give my honest opinion.Well, for a start - MK is back on Nintendo! (after not having a game on their systems since 2007 with MK Armageddon on the Wii). The amount of content in this game is incredible! The story mode is so cinematic, it's like watching a high budget (8 hour) movie; the time towers add a good twist to the Klassic Towers (which are also there); then there's online mode which I surprisingly love (being mainly a retro gamer,I'm usually not too keen with online modes) - there's regular "Kasual" mode which is just your standard 1-on-1 fight, ranked matches and (my personal favourite) King of the Hill where there's a lobby of players waiting their turn in a "winner stays on" environment, watching the games play on live whilst you wait your turn (very much like the old days huddled around the arcade machine). For me, KOTH is a massive highlight. Also (coming this week - sometime in May 2019) is the Kombat League, which I know little about at time of writing but look forward to getting into. Now to address some of the complaints: graphics - ok, obviously not as good as XB1 or PS4 Pro but I never expected it to be. But the reason in reduction was to boost the performance so to have constant 60 FPS even in handheld mode is a sacrifice I am more than happy to accept. The big one for me though (which is the reason I just can't give the full 5 stars) is the fact that you have to be online at all times - even in handheld mode!?! Even to play the story mode and towers!?! This really doesn't make any sense to me, so this is one I'm unfortunately going to be playing just at home instead of on the go as I'd hoped.Predatory micro-transactions - yes, they're there but there hasn't been any pressure at all to have to buy items etc. so really don't see the big fuss this is causing in all honesty. So all in all, I love this game! So much to do and so much fun. Looks and plays great. I'm having a blast and with so much to unlock, I think I'll be playing it for a long time to come. The only downside is the really disappointing "always online" requirement. Personally, I highly recommend this game.

Love the graphics, gameplay and story of MK11 I would recommend the game purely for that but I feel I should warn potential players on a couple of things. As others have pointed out the game takes 16GB of memory so make sure your micro SD is large enough before purchasing. The other thing is the monetisation model employed in this game. This is sort of like the shop and has been a feature of MK for a very long time but in MK 11 there are now 2 shops the premium shop which is where you can swap Time Krystals or real money for items upfront (these rotate daily adding a pressure factor to the shop) and the Krypt which is full of randomised loot boxes at different prices using some of 3 different currencies (koins, souls and hearts). Collecting the resources needed to open anything in the krypt feels incredibly grindy and sucks a lot of the fun out of unlocking items and you can feel the developers trying to push you towards the premium store. Great game but be prepared for a long hard slog for the unlockables.

I own this on Switch and PS4. It’s obviously taken a graphical hit but all the content is here and it plays smoothly at 60fpsThe online only features are an issue - you can progress in story mode (other reviewer is incorrect stating you can’t - you just can’t claim any earned loot until you connect to WiFi) Towers and Krypt are both online only which is why this loses a star and I really hope they can resolve this in an update.Otherwise this is a Stella version and a minor miracle that they got to running on the Switch so well

Good funny game to play against a friend, me and my work colleague play this on lunch breaks pretty much every day. The campaign is a bit bland like previous mortal kombat games but it does have comedic moments. The graphics are okay when playing handheld mode but a lot better when put through a television. I was planning to gain more character's through online purchases but they are really expensive it might be worth checking that out if that's what you are planning to do before purchasing.

While I know I'm not a confirmed purchase the 1 review on here is false so I had to clear it up. It was grind heavy and still kind of but no where near as much anymore since the patch. You can buy skins but it's only 4 or 5 that change daily and the game doesn't try to suduce you to buying microtransactions in any way. The amount of days it would take you if you're waiting to buy a skin could be months. The game itself is some of the best fighting gameplay out there it's worth it

The game is phenomenal; whether you’re a beginner or a fighting game veteran there’s a plethora of modes and things to do to keep you busy for a long time. The story is incredible; a standard NRS has set the bar for in fighting games and is pushed even further to perfection in this entry. Collecting the items can grow incredibly “grindy” and frustrating at times in the living towers mode but it’s also where a lot of fun is to be had. Online is incredibly stable too.

Well worth the price as its still 70 euro in the mícrosoft store, very good I use to be crap at mortal kombat but the this new one is a lot easier, the story mode is brilliant like watching a movie then being trust into fights with different characters, class ha then there's other modes, check it out! The game arrived on time, brand new in the packaging, can't go wrong for 40 odd euro while it's 70 euro for just the digital version, which I don't get, give me the disc any day

It's a bit annoying that the voices don't work consistently in surround sound mode but, other than that, this is.another epic game.Works well, massive amount of content and the graphics are great for Switch. Even being online on the go is a little annoying but who doesn't have a mobile hotspot these days? The customisation feature is also quite cool. Thanks for Shao Kahn...I didn't even pre-order so all in a all a fantastic purchase.

After the previous mortal kombat I didn't have much hope for this game in terms of delivering a new fresh approach but I am pleased to say this game exceeded my expectations and feel's like a brand new style of fighting game that I have never experienced before. The game is very well balanced with plenty to do and feel's like it's challenging enough to the point where you need to learn the styles rather than button bashing.

This game runs buttery smooth on switch, Nothing to complain about with regards to gameplay. And graphically impressive for the switch hardware. Most fun to be had when playing online or local against friends. Great depth to the training modes and fun story mode and classic tower modes to keep those solo games interesting, cant recommend this game highly enough if your a fan or just a casual arcade fighter. 5*

It's no surprise this is the 5th top selling game of 2019! It's amazing, the graphics are awesome, the characters are compelling and the gameplay is so much fun.The only negative aspects are the tedious grinding to get customisation items and the fact that it disconnects from the network every time you resume your PS4 from rest mode. It looks like the only way to reconnect is to close the game and restart.

I'm a big fan of the mortal Kombat series and have been since the very first game! Mortal Kombat 11 is the best yet by far! Even though I own the Xbox one x, PS4 pro and a top end gaming pc I opted for the switch version for portability. Graphically it's not the best version, but don't get me wrong it still looks great and runs flawless! You won't be disappointed whatever version you choose to pick up.

Bought this on release date and Im very happy wth the game. Brilliant graphics, fluid animations and a robust roster with lots of depth in the attack and defensive game. A thinkers game rather than just a button basher. The Story mode is excellent too and the Krypt, based on Shang Tsungs island, offers lots of nods to the original games. All in all a great beat em up and a superb Mortal Kombat game.

The game is good, great graphics.. But the Developers don't tell u that 90% of the game is online only. The story mode is only offline. Also they don't answer to any emails u send. To be honest I have to say that mk11 is a rip off. Keep ur money or buy something far better than mk11. Its very easy for them to put update to unlock them but again the Developers just ignore me and everyone else.

You need to manage your expectations before you buy this. The Switch is not a PlayStation or Xbox. If you want the full game experience go and get on one of those systems. For the switch this is a easy to play clean fighting game.WARNING: You have to have a memory card to play this, minimum of 32GB to ensure the game install correctly as the install is almost 16GB
