So here it is FIFA 19, but are we getting more of the same, where all you basically are getting is a updated squad and a over exaggerated "Unique first touch system" or something like that?Well YES pretty much so lets narrow it all down into lovely little sectionsGAME PLAY: is pretty much the same you still have to defend online using that annoying stiff jockeying dance added in with a fumbling lean in with your foot which is just not realistic is it?Attacking is still very stiff and 1 dimensional where 1 - 2 pass and move football is really the only way to play the game, scoring from crosses is a rare treat unless it's just me?There is a new "Unique tactics system" the usual rubbish EA sayevery year to make a game sound new and exciting but all it basically does is before the game lets you edit your 5 tactics options you pick during the game, so if you pick Attacking you will have a formation and tactics etc setup in advance so it's a good feature to play around with but not as amazing as EA made outNew Features: There are a few nice new game modes this year the main one being the house rules section in kick off mode, These match types introduce new rules to the typical 90-minute match experience such asHeaders & Volleys, where you can only score using headers or volleysNo Rules mode, with no offsides, fouls, or bookings enabled, one to have a good laugh with, but the no offsides rule is really only the one that adds any element of fun or interest to the game since the ref is rather generous regarding fouls anywaySurvival Mode, in short, it consists of players being randomly ejected from your team after you score a goal, theoretically giving the trailing team the advantage, a very nice tactical style of game. The big down side? These are only available offline, which is a rather odd decision as these would of proved quite popular onlineUltimate team, EXACTLY the same more down to how much money you spend and luck than anything else as to how good your team can beThe Journey Champions, The 3rd installment to the Great Journey Feature, which this year tells three separate storylines. Alex, the ‘Galactico,’ is adjusting to stardom in Madrid, his teenage sister Kim who you might remember appeared in last years game and Danny Williams, a parody of a Premier League footballer, All facing there own challenges. Can't say too much without giving away any spoilers but i found it less boring and a drag than last years but decision making options still seem to have little effect on how the game progresses.Oh of course!!!! Champions League mode is back after grabbing the licence back from Pro Evolution, and they show it off alot more than Pro Evo did, the Champions League plus Europa League can be played as part of the career mode, with the former also found in the Kick-Off menu, with each stage available to play separately. Integration with Ultimate Team but at this stage it is unclear whether this will be any more than some in-form FUT cards that you will find. Also all games in these modes will have new commentators, Derek Rae and Lee Dixon, try not to laugh at Derek Rae though and the way he says everybody's name when they take a shot on goal LukaaaakuuuuuuuuuuuuuuSo overall i gave it 4 stars, the fact they have not changed much with the gameplay is what stops it being a 4.5 or 5Follow us on Twitter @TOPGAMERNOOB for more future game reviews and other gaming content

Well, another year, another FIFA. One of my biggest gripes with EA Sports is the similarity year in, year out, kits and players may change but you don't get a lot new... Well, it seems that way usually but with small improvements. This year they have included Champions and Europa Leagues along with the normal competitions. The graphics have improved, the gameplay is more realistic and the atmospheres stunning.Working my way through the game today and it's good. It's bloody good. Maybe the purists will find a few mistakes and things not to their liking. I for one thought it a bit unrealistic that most fans wore the same thing! However, that aside, feel the effort that has been put into the game is reasonable.Price?Well £50 for a game that was around £30 (without the extra material) a couple of years ago, is steep for some.. especially if you buy the game year in and year out. But then consider what you are getting for your money. It works out about £1 a week. If you play it all the time, and some will, it's well worth it. They could still do more imho. Again weather conditions are limited, commentary is good, but can be repetitive occasionally. Would like to see more fouls from AI opponents, aggressive behaviour from players, commentators criticising poor refereeing decisions etc. etc. And more variety in the crowd... But then I'm a purist.I rate this 8/10. There is always room for improvement. But on the whole, very good. It certainly wipes the floor with PES in my opinion.Let's see more than 1 update throughout the year though, not just after the January transfer window.A bit more detail next year please.Read full review...

I am no FIFA fan by any means. I have bought and then instantly sold FIFA the last 3 years in a row, but (so far) this is the first time I have decided to keep, which in itself says a lot I think.I want to highlight that although I am not a massive fan of the gameplay (far too arcadey for my liking), it is, on the whole, fun - which is what a computer game should be. Sure keepers are still poor and scoring far too easy, but for your average gamer that offers more entertainment and thus value for money. If you're after a true footballing SIM then PES 2019 is superior gameplay wise...but only offline.Input lag and all-round internet issues completely ruin the experience and for the majority of us thats a killer factor as the AI just doesn't offer the variety in skills and tactics that you come across online from playing actual people. When you add to that the fact match making takes 3+mins in PES (if the connection keeps!) then FIFA is a no brainer for people who don't have a lot of spare time.As a result of the above and the fact FIFA is by far the more complete package it makes FIFA the obvious go-to footballing game of 2018 IMO.

Having been a convert to FIFA from PES some incarnations ago and having played FIFA 19 and the new PES for some time, I still feel this is the better game. This does not however make it perfect. The game has cone in for some criticism for being a little slow and on the whole the gameplay has been slowed from previous versions but not too drastically. This to me, seems to give it a more realistic feel and still allows for quick breaks when they are done well. The graphics although not truely groundbreaking, continue to improve and the addition of the full licensing for ECL, as well as most of the top world leagues, is welcome. However, the ball physics just occasionally can feel a little off (particularly when shooting)and much of EA's time has obviously been directed towards FUT where they can encourage micro transactions. These are inevitable in modern gaming but for older gamers like myself who have seen these creep into most modern games, it still seems a shame.Overall a good looking game with a few little gameplay bugs which do not stop this being an enjoyable game.

They have sorted out the ping pong passing and ridiculously easy shooting mechanics from last years game. Not sure your average FIFA player will like this but the game is fairer and more about skill now rather than spamming certain buttons. I also have Pro Evo which is much improved on last year too. I think FIFA could be even better with the defending side of it so am giving this 4 stars, but I do like the options to adjust your teams width and shape, which are very well set out in this game. (EDIT) It's the end of the year now and after spending a lot of time on FIFA and PES, there are still too many issues with FIFA and broken game mechanics for me to rate it over PES, i.e.set ways that people play or score that bring goals but spoil the game. PES has a brilliant Fan TV view which is giving me a lot more fun. FIFA is still a 4 star game if you are prepared to put up with the nonsense mechanics but I would recommend PES based on fairer games and the FAN TV. Cheers guys

Same as any other year. Brilliant game.. expecially if your going to have a sesh and you really need to keep focused on something. The graphics are brilliant. But thats cuz they rob everyone like £40+ every year and make millions and can afford to improve the graphics. Game play and everything else is the same. Overall when im off me nut its brilliant game to play.. proper way to make money of ya mates to place bets. Even though i have lost way more money than i should have due to cheats and dodgy controller?. Proper classic though to even have a few mates round crack open a few beers.. hire an escourt at half time and then finish the game and then have some enjoyment with my hard earned winnings. Then once there gone crack open more beers get the game back on, turn up the tunes, get smashed play more fifa then make the lose eat the soggy biscuit.Overall 5 star game. Worth the buy.

The game is pretty much the same (sorry EA but you do need to make the career mode transfer deadline day transfers a bit more realistic i.e. both clubs try to make it happen). The Journey is excellent, with strong acting by Tom, Chris and Lisa, though it didn't end quite how I thought it might. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I'll leave it at that Will there be a 4th incarnation? It was great fun although one minor criticism is that even though I chose 'cool' or 'nerdy', that didn't stop my character from letting off steam and getting into trouble! The shooting technique is a great idea, but despite hours of practice, I still scuff most shots along the ground, and my 'superstar striker'couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo - a bit like me in real life rather than a pro footballer! The game is however good fun overall, but it does need freshening in career manager mode.

It is a great game and the inclusion of the UEFA license has taken this game up a notch. How anyone can even compare this to Pro Evo now is just deluded in my opinion. The only annoying thing is with squad battles in Ultimate Team. This is an offline game mode and was a great game mode to earning coins, packs and building the Ultimate team of course. But you are forced to play with Tactical Defending and cannot switch to Legacy which just baffles me. I can understand when playing against other players online but when it's you against the AI just let the settings be changed. Hoping that EA Sports change this but who knows. Career mode is alright but is starting to wear thin now and they really need to focus their attention next year on it,more likely to be so now that the Journey has ended this series.

Purchased Fifa 19 expecting some big changes. Bit disappointed now I've played it.I usually only play the career mode as I'm not interested in the FUT side of the game. Within career mode, there is now the inclusion of the champions league, europa league and super cup. This is a really good inclusion from the developers but something that should have happened years ago. Also, the game play has been improved somewhat, with the action more realistic and lifelike. The developers have done their usual change of theme colour but the menu system is the same layout and style. To be honest, I'm not sure if the £50 I paid for it is truly worth it,I could have maybe skipped this edition and bought Fifa 20.

I can see why so many are unhappy on here but I do think this is better than fifa 18 which to me was a spot on game. I only really play career mode and like many here am disappointed at the very few changes. I haven’t sussed out the timed shot yet but can see mastering it could make a massive difference. Come with practice. I hope. As for people feeling ripped off for £50 look at it this way: you get a full year of playing Fifa for that price til the next one is released. Most other games for £50 are completed in a couple of months, even weeks so there is value in that regard.

Good game improved on Fifa 18, some slight in game problems, FIFA seem to think Mo Salah is better than the likes of Marco Asensio, Luca Modric and Gareth Bale. PSG can’t be stopped due to three overpowers strikers. Lots of unrealistic calls but the best football game that isn’t PES.If you don’t mind if the players and clubs don’t have there real names then buy PES for a better gaming experience. If you want to play online then chose FIFA.New Champions League mode is poor just a marketing gimmick. Story mode is unnecessary lots of political correctness

ok...here is my review....when you are playing a top team for etc man utd.... liverpool..... and you want to save a game .well the bad news is it won,t... ive played huddersfield town, the first time around i thought yeah its ok....but when you play 10 games later.....you save it...thats a big no no....when you boot up your machine to play where you left off,,, you end up playing the first game that you started off with so you are no further forward.......E.A HAVE TOTALLY SCREWED IT UP so in my opinion you have to play the whole 38 games straight off

Can't understand why everyone is moaning like little bitches! FIFA is a football game.....of course its not gonna change!!The game of football doesn't just change dramatically every year so why should the game!!!! Do people want players jumpin 30 feet in the air to score from their own 18 yard box?? No we dont!!!! We want new kits and updated teams and the odd improvement which is exactly what FIFA 19 is with a few different ways to play. Quit your whinging n whining n enjoy the best football on a console experience.Sheeesh!!!

What can I say, fifa is fifa. This year they actually got licence to UCL (UEFA Champions League) wich is a massive big step for them. For FUT (Fifa Ultimate Team) they introduced a new concept called Squad Rivals that it's very well done you never get tired of playing because you this year you are going to get a lot, and when I say a lot it's a lot of rewards. So even if you are not a pro player you still get the chance to claim very good rewards just by simply playing that game mode.Fifa 19 we are going to enjoy you for sure!

I have played every FIFA since start up, this version I am really enjoying. The story mode was interesting and I couldn't wait to play it whenever I could. I am now doing my first ever career as a player (normally do manager). I am enjoying this mode too and will possibly start again at a lower division club for more of a challenge (currently playing for Fulham on semi-pro). Might play for Saaaarrfend.Oh yeah, my review, buy it, it's better than the last few (improved) and still better IMO than PES (which I have owned once)
