Firstly let me point out that as a Dad I only tend to BUY games rather than play them and FIFA 20 is no different. I paid £20 extra, a whopping £70 for this "champions edition" so he could basically play it three days early, well two, as it didn't arrive on the 24th but the 25th.As we have EA Access he'd had ten hours of FIFA 20 to play before purchase, which is great. I know how long these games take to download to the PS4 so I promised as soon as the game dropped through the letter box I would install it for him whilst he was at school. Luckily, once I put the disc in the PS4 the console informed me that a downloaded version was already installed and did I want to change to the disc version.Clicked "yes". Done.As for the game itself, it looks pretty enough, but the graphics don't seem to improve much and this looks the same as FIFA 15 to me. Obviously the kits have been upgraded and the kit for our team - Coventry City - looks stunning, rally impressive.I watched my son play a few games and he assured me it was different and was "better" than FIFA 19 and because, as I've stated, don't actually ever play FIFA, I took his word for it. He did say that the squads hadn't updated yet and players we'd signed on loan hadn't appeared yet, maybe that will be updated in the near future.I say it every year, but it's a shame the FiFA team don't put more work into the lower leagues and give us some of the real lower league football stadiums rather than having to play at Moulton Road (or whatever it's called) all the time. Also as a Coventry City fan it would be nice to have stadiums that aren't necessarily sell-outs every game. That would go for most lower league teams. Not every seat in every ground is sold for every match.Still, a minor grumble, I suppose and not something that will resonate with FIFA developers or fans of Premier League teams.Final word. Pleased to see Bury are still in there.Anyway, have a great season.

ok. So you may see a lot of negative reviews. But don't worry, it doesn't mean this game is bad. Every comment I see is this:1) career mode is bad2) EA is bad3) this game is overpriced, as it is the same as the othersor4) I bought this game for my son and he enjoyed itBut I'm here to give an honest review. After unboxing a new copy of this game, I was a bit upset, to see that it didn't come with any special offers. But, that's OK. Being a huge career mode fan, I was slightly disappointed, but I could tell that they were staying their best, and I like that from a company. One of the huge things going for this game is the gameplay. With the new "enhanced ball physics",it made the game 10x better than last year and the fact that they made it more defensive, really improved my enjoyment and realism of the game. Of course, this game is different than the previous game, as the teams are all updated. However, some of the players, who recently went on loan were at their old clubs, but I could just update the squads. A huge mode this year is volta, which feels very fluid and enjoyable to play. Ultimate team is also great fun to play with your mates. On media, I have seen many people criticising this game and many calling it "the worst fifa game ever". And although many people I know, have said that it is a scam (without even playing it :/) everybody who I know who have played it, have said that this rendition of fifa is an extremely well made, enjoyable and overall, great game.So for those haters, just try to enjoy the game and different aspects of it. And if you still don't like it, although the internet is free to express your opinions, please don't outright call it "trash", as different people find different games enjoyable and fun is a subjective belief. Also, you can spell stEEl without EA :)

This Fifa is anything but perfect but it is a step up for once. I don’t play ultimate team as I see it as a ridiculous con. I played it on Fifa 09 when it was all free with no micro transactions. I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about career mode but I don’t see what the problem is.Career mode has been improved for the first time in a long time. It’s far from a big enough improvement but at least it feels some what fresh. You get to customise your manager like your pro in pro clubs. You get press conferences before and after the match (the questions get really repetitive) and some nice scenery’s when discussing a contract with a star. It’s not much but at least it’s something. But they have still included mistakes from last year which is lazy as hell! The biggest improvement is on the pitch. It feels so smooth and fluid this year. You still get the odd pass to somebody you didn’t want to but it is a lot better. The wingers are really fast which is a bit poor. As the same thing happens all the time with the AI, pass to winger run down side and pass into the box. There isn’t much middle play.A lot to be improved upon but a lot has also been improved.

It’s not come leaps and bounds but the gameplay is more challenging (which I like) it’s harder to score from 30 yards, you literally have to work the space and create room. Career mode is the same with a few new animations, imo I think they should invest heavily on career mode for next year as I don’t touch fut. it’s become about 80% of the game for me, still as much fun to wheel and deal and find yourself a gem or two. All the early reviews were moaning about the glitches. I’m very used to those now so I always give it 4/6 weeks before buying and then the patches have been released all the patches that deal with glitches reported in career mode are out now so it’s fully functional.Graphically it’s a lot sharper.Although it has to be said what are they going to do next year to keep hardcore FIFA fans like me entertained. This is worth about £25-35 don’t pay much more or you will be disappointed just wait for the annual price drop. Hope that’s helped (I haven’t even touched Volta mode, looks like a tournament that’s world wide of 3 a side indoors tricks and flicks, not really my thing).

Amazed at the terrible reviews on here particularly about gameplay.I did read before release someone saying gameplay was slow and the players feel like they're running in treacle, but this is absolutely not what I've found. To me it feels slicker than ever, passing is fast, smooth, you can really ping it around and produce some amazing attacking play, so satisfying. Fast players feel fast and can actually get away from defenders, especially fresh off the bench. I'm absolutely loving it.I do only play online and it looks like career mode is a mess but for online play I think it's spot on.And I did try PES, played the demo a lot and as an ex PES fan I desperately wanted to like it but it was just horrible to play, the only good thing was passing which I feel like FIFA has now matched, maybe even bettered, so once again it's another year where in my eyes FIFA wins comfortably. If you want this for career mode it looks like it's best to hold off until they sort it, but if you're into online play or Ultimate Team it's a finished game and an excellent game.

I very rarely write reviews, but i disagree with most of the negative reviews - I really like it! I’ve played (actual) football to a high level for years and felt that fifa20 is pretty realistic. Fifa 18 and 19 felt like a computer simulation whereas this feels more genuine.More errors from players all round and a bit more random ball movement is what happens in life - just watch MOTD!Volta seems a bit half-baked and pointless, and I’m sick of the cine bits in career mode but the actual gameplay is really enjoyable and feels less contrived. Saying that, my friends who don’t actually play football prefer previous fifa offerings, but I think that’s because it makes them look better! ?

Bought this for my 8 year old son who has a very low attention span and gets bored very quickly. This game has kept him well entertained on a couple of long trips in the car and spared me hearing the "are we there yet?" annoyance. He's still into the game a month on and seems to be his favourite currently.I'm sure the graphics are much better on alternative platforms, however that's not a complaint. A bit fiddly to set up, that should have been much easier, especially as this game was for the Nintendo Switch which is aimed at a younger demographic. I don't see any reason why this shouldn't have been plug and play.

First game bought for PS4 and is fantastic. Great live like action with latest players and teams. Graphics and sound are amazing, players signature moves ,passes and dribbles are there. Good fun on the Volta format around the world 5- a-side football on steroids. There are some teams missing from country championships, ie: Juventus is not available in Italy, Flamengo missing in Brazil, but overall the key players are available on the country squads.Stadiums around the world are great and the crowd even screams and chants appropriately. Many hours of fun customising teams, formations, strategy etc..

Improved gameplay, smoother, much more fun to play. Get a real sense of unpredictability in the box that hasn’t been with other FIFA’s. Defending is a bit harder but you have more control of the defender and must be patient as the wingers can be hard to tackle and can’t be catched like the last fifa.Big emphasis on interceptions and making the right passes in this game. An improvement, but nothing wows you to make it so different. I don’t really see why people want it to be that different each year, isn’t that why everyone buys it lol COs it’s addictive unlike pro where it just seems fake

Last few years I have picked up a copy of Fifa only to send it back as it was so bad so I waited to get this one. Picked it up on sale for black Friday and I am actually enjoying it. The game play is a little slow, i.e. pace makes no difference between players however the passing game makes it enjoyable. It reals good to score from a well planned build up or sometimes on the counter attack.Having said that I still feel they could easily made the career mode (which is the only mode I play) better and I think the game play from the Fifa's around 2012-14 were far more fun

I'm not the type to buy FIFA games as soon as they come out. Last version was 2018 so thought it best to upgrade. It's great to see it has more competitions now, UEFA: Champions League, Europa League, and Super Cup. My previous one may have had the world cup, but it's definitely here now. Price you pay is more in-game advertising. The whole scenario screen for praising clubs and players is literally just to smack your face with all the advertisements that probably paid for the licenses to include UEFA content.

Brilliant. Problem with people giving this negative reviews, is that they purchase Fifa every single year. It’s a football game. Things can’t change dramatically year after year. If you do what I do and miss a year, it becomes fresh again. FUT is as addictive as it was in Fifa 18, career mode is back and improved and Volta is a welcomed addition. Gonna be played constantly for 6 months, like football games are meant to be played. Then I’ll wait for Fifa 22 and get the enjoyment all over again. ??⚽️⚽️

Bit worried buying this after reading multiple bad reviews, however I haven't owned a FIFA game since 2016 and was craving some football during lockdown! It's a lot better than all the bad reviews are saying, however as mentioned above its my first FIFA in a while so I can't compare it to recent previous iterations. Want some good football action then it's a decent buy. Online seems fine but can take a few mins to find an opponent. Graphics are ok, it's the switch and meant to be portable.

Having always been a PES fan, my friends and I changed to FIFA about 10 years ago when FIFA became superior to PES. Over the years there have been some frustrations with the game with small but important things being changed in the games, and those small changes made for huge differences in gameplay that we didn’t initially like. FIFA 20 is a great upgrade from FIFA 19, and you can drop in and pick this up pretty easily. Been a lifesaver during lockdown as have been connecting with my friends.

Bought as a present for our Grandson who is football crazy. Argos online purchase was first choice as the store is located at our local supermarket and we didn't have to spend ages in a queue waiting to be served ! Use click and collect, it's time saving. We hope this will inspire him to continue with Sunday morning training, junior league competitions and to play for his school team once he reaches secondary school age.Grandparents can join in without getting out of breath !!!
